CHAPTER 153: CHAPTER 148: THE FEMALE SUPPORTING CHARACTER OF THE SPIRITUAL SPRING SPACE

The man’s words were emotionally charged and seductive. If it had been the former Li Xingran, she might have submitted, but she had just heard Ye Qiu’s words of caution that morning, advising her that she might ruin herself because of the man closest to her, especially warning her to be careful of things like photos and videos that could leave behind evidence.

Just a few hours had passed, and it had turned out to be true; Ye Qiu hadn’t lied to her. Could she really tell fortunes?

Li Xingran believed her senior loved her, but at this moment, she didn’t want to turn on the camera and record everything. What if someone stole the footage?

"Senior, I’m shy and don’t want to record." Li Xingran lowered her head, gently resisting.

At this moment, the man hugged her and whispered in her ear: "But what if Senior wants to record it? My little junior is so charming and cute; the more you’re shy, the more Senior likes it. I just want to capture this beautiful moment."

"Senior, we are both public figures. What if these things get leaked?" The more Li Xingran thought about it, the more glaring the camera seemed to her.

"We will keep it at home for our enjoyment, so how could it get leaked?" The man’s heart skipped a beat, fearing the woman in his arms had discovered something, but seeing she still hadn’t pushed him away, he thought he was overreacting.

"No, I’m still not reassured." Li Xingran firmly refused.

"Alright, alright," the man conceded, "then we won’t record. But Senior really likes you and would like to keep a couple of photos of you being moved, is that okay? Look, we’re both usually on set, we’re apart more than we’re together. When Senior misses you, I’ll look at your pictures. Is that alright?"

It hit home; Ye Qiu was right! Videos, photos!

At first, Li Xingran thought the man genuinely wanted to keep a memento, but now, she felt as though while he spoke of love, he was always trying to have evidence of her in a compromising situation. If he truly loved her, how could a normal man endure in such a situation; why would he keep on insisting?

"Senior, I’m not feeling well now. Let’s call it off for today." Li Xingran left his embrace and quickly dressed herself.

"Junior sister!" The man was stunned and tried to pull Li Xingran back, his expression filled with urgency and anxiety.

Li Xingran dodged to the side, grabbed her bag, and headed for the door, swiftly leaving the room. This wasn’t her home, but one of the man’s residences—how laughable that she once thought of this place as their love nest! It seems she really needed to reassess this relationship.

"Damn it!" Watching the tightly closed door, the man furiously punched the bed and kicked over a chair.

"Thank you!" After leaving the neighborhood, Li Xingran sent a message to Ye Qiu.

"Qingqing, do you know any computer science whizzes?" Two months whizzed by, and Ye Qiu and the rest had returned to school. The preliminary round of the Culinary Competition was next week, and Cao Lu still hadn’t gotten a ticket and was getting anxious.

"I don’t know any." Liu Qingqing had recently borrowed some money from her family to start a celebrity studio and had signed a couple of new artists. She was so busy that she had no time to accompany Cao Lu, which meant she wasn’t focused on the food contest either.

"Does your boyfriend know anyone?" Having no luck with the conventional approach, Cao Lu was ready to explore other options. With so many talents in the school, surely it wouldn’t be a problem to find a genius to hack a ticket for her!

"I’ll make a call and ask."

"Okay, got it." The call ended, and Cao Lu asked in a hurry.

"He said that the top computer science guru is named He Qingfeng, but he doesn’t know him either," Liu Qingqing shrugged, indicating that she was also out of options.

Just because she was out of options doesn’t mean Cao Lu would give up; now that she knew the name of the guru, she might as well go and corner him.

Watching Cao Lu eagerly go off to gather information, Liu Qingqing asked Ye Qiu, "Aren’t you a contestant? Why can’t you get tickets either?"

"It’s precisely because I am a contestant. To maintain fairness in the competition, they don’t give us internal tickets."

"That girl’s got her work cut out for her then. Can she really pull it off? What if she gets caught?"

"Whether she can find him is one thing; whether he’ll help her is another. Let’s just wait and see; nothing bad will happen."

"Ye Zi, we’re sophomores now; the school doesn’t impose restrictions anymore. Why doesn’t Lian Lan move out? Isn’t she supposed to be acting, so why is she still living on campus? Can her tiny wardrobe even fit all of those big boxes of clothes?" Liu Qingqing gestured for Ye Qiu to look at the bed next to them, where four large boxes had been delivered early in the morning, yet the person in question was nowhere to be seen. What on earth was Lian Lan up to?

"Who knows!" Ye Qiu said nonchalantly, although in her heart she knew perfectly well. Lian Lan was probably doing it for Lin Jiayan, her husband from her past life, who was stolen by Lian Lan in her second life.

Even though Ye Qiu and Lin Jiayan were once the closest of relations, time had passed through two lifetimes, and Ye Qiu no longer cared. However, in this life, she didn’t want to let Lian Lan have her way easily. In her previous life, she had her Spiritual Spring Space taken away; she watched coldly as Zhouzhou passed away. This life, she should let her taste the flavor of losing the most important person to her—desiring yet failing to obtain must be a bitter feeling, right?

"Auntie, does He Qingfeng live in this building?" Cao Lu entered the male dormitory building and asked the dormitory manager auntie.

"Who are you to him? Women stop, this is the men’s dormitory," the dormitory manager auntie asked vigilantly. She knew of He Qingfeng, a tall and slender handsome young man, but what was the relationship between this fair and delicate young lady in front of her and him? She had to ask clearly.

The dormitory manager auntie did her duty and asked carefully, but Cao Lu obviously couldn’t just say she was there to covertly get a ticket to a national TV show.

"Auntie, you don’t know, but in high school, I was his girlfriend. That He Qingfeng, after getting into our college, he dumped me. I’m a new freshman this year; I worked hard to get in just to ask him why?" Cao Lu cried out loudly to the dormitory manager auntie, her little face turning pitifully red with the effort.

Seeing her looking so distressed, the dormitory manager auntie couldn’t suspect her motives any longer and indignantly said, "Oh, is that so? Little girl, He Qingfeng is in room 403. Go up and ask him yourself. If there’s a problem, come down and tell me—I’ll take care of it for you."

"Thank you, auntie, you’re such a good person!" With an apologetic air, Cao Lu gave the dormitory manager auntie a card of gratitude and headed straight for room 403.

At this time, He Qingfeng happened to be walking to the stairwell, having witnessed the whole act with his roommate without missing a beat.

"Hey, your ’little girlfriend’ from high school seems to not recognize her boyfriend anymore!" His roommate teased him.

"What a coincidence, I didn’t know I dumped such a ’girlfriend’ back in high school," He Qingfeng raised an eyebrow and turned around to head back, curious to see what this girl was up to, pretending to be a new freshman just to see him.

However, he found this girl rather amusing; he had seen her embarrass herself more than once last semester. Today, she had outdone herself by bringing the embarrassment right to him.

He wondered what she would think when she finally faced her "boyfriend."
