Chapter 82: Better Luck Next Time
CHAPTER 82: BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME
{Sin Point: 3,892,289}
"So there are a total of three hundred eighty nine chances. That’s the number of keys I can currently buy."
Maybe adding the Divine Sin Arrow— if I obtain it later— would greatly upgrade the Divine Sin Wheel, and he might later regret expending most of his points. But to survive in that tomb, he needed more than his current strength. What would be the point of dying while carrying so many points?
It was better to be prepared than end up regretting it.
"So wifey, how strong do you think I currently am? If I were to go all out, using everything in my arsenal, what might be the highest level I can take on?" Vritra asked.
He had seen those two people—Number Two and Number Four—in the cave, and they seemed even stronger than the golden knight and that man from the Nine Pacts.
"..." Yasmine remained silent for a few seconds. She didn’t want to make any mistake as she observed Vritra even more carefully. After five whole minutes had passed in silence, she finally spoke:
"Hmmm... level 870 with the addition of the Dark Knight. But if you were to really push it without caring about anything else, and are lucky enough, then maybe 872 or 873.
The difference between each level becomes exceedingly high the more you approach level one thousand. After level 873, it will get truly dangerous for you—of course, without my involvement. But with me here... around level 900 or so."
Vritra felt that the concept of levels was too absurd. Even with high stats, the power difference between each level couldn’t be easily crossed. But he couldn’t complain—after all, just being in the 500s, he had killed someone that high level only a couple of days ago.
"I understand. Then what about those two men who seemed especially strong? What should be their level?" Vritra asked, trying to see just how dangerous this trip was going to be.
"They were around level 865. Those two are manageable if you fight them one on one and with all your strength," Yasmine answered simply.
"Sigh... so I can only place my hopes on getting something useful." Vritra sighed. Just as he was about to buy the Sin Keys, he remembered that he had received a new skill recently.
++++++++++++++++
[Natural Hypnosis]
(Skill Description): A natural and subtle change of thought caused to the intended target; would change their actions naturally without them being aware of the alterations. Slow and gradual manipulation.
++++++++++++++++
"Oh, isn’t that just perfect? Such a skill might even be able to surpass the mental defences of most people. It will be of great help in the future... in various scenarios," Vritra mumbled and finally focused on the Divine Sin Wheel.
He spent a portion of Sin Points and bought lots of Sin Keys.
{Sin Keys Available: 100}
{Sin Point: 2,892,293}
One million points were gone just like that. Vritra felt a bit of heartache as those hard earned points disappeared—but it was fine as long as he could get a couple of skills or something.
"So, my lovely wifey—" after buying the keys, Vritra spoke but was interrupted by the exasperated lady.
"Ha! I’m not going to choke you again. I don’t want to hurt you. It makes me feel bad," she said directly.
"I wasn’t going to say that. I was just going to ask you to stay close to me. It seems you bring me good luck." Vritra released a disappointed sigh as he spoke.
"That is fine then. Of course I will help you in whatever way I can." Yasmine pretended not to hear his disappointed sigh as she manifested into a small dragon form and coiled herself gently around him, resting her head over his shoulder.
"Then here goes nothing." Vritra tried to remain calm as he inserted all the keys at once into the golden wheel and watched as one after another message popped in front of him.

"Cough cough." Vritra coughed loudly and suddenly felt a little dizzy while also feeling a bit suffocated out of nowhere. All hundred draws had failed, and a million points were wasted over nothing.
"FUCK FUCK FUCK! What kind of joke is this? Shouldn’t I receive at least one skill?" Vritra cursed loudly as he stood up abruptly and almost threw Yasmine off his body.
The chair he had just used broke to pieces as he punched it hard, forming a small crater in the ground.
"We can’t go on like this. How am I supposed to increase my luck? Damnit, it’s so frustrating. O One million points... ughh You ####### Wheel, I am going to ***** $$$$" Vritra continued to curse for a few minutes. He felt so angry that he wanted to slaughter hundreds of thousands of demons again.
"Calm down, calm down. It’s fine. Just take a deep breath," Yasmine tried to calm him, but Vritra needed to vent his frustrations for at least twenty minutes before he felt a bit calm.
"Sigh... this is so unfair. Let’s enter the keys one by one this time and move to a better location. This place has no luck at all." Vritra activated the Fourth Dimension again as he disappeared and flew into the air.
He moved to the center of the market where a lot of people were gathered. He sat cross legged in the air and placed his hands over his knees as if he was about to fall into deep concentration.
Then he bought the Sin Keys again.

"Ughh... another million gone. Sigh... oh great golden wheel, please give me something good this time," Vritra said. If he experienced that again, he might really end up coughing blood the next time.
He pushed the first key.

By now, Vritra was like a robot. He just kept throwing one key after another, not even looking at the results after more than fifty keys had failed. His mind had gone blank, and his emotions seemed to have all faded. All his body knew how to do was push keys into the golden wheel.

As the keys ended, Vritra’s almost dead soul didn’t stop. His absent mind bought another 100 Sin Keys, and then he continued to push key after key into the golden wheel.
His eyes were already hollow, and it seemed as if life had been sucked out of his body by the continuous failure and loss.

In his disappearing state in the sky, he continued with his dead action.
