CHAPTER 613: CHAPTER 613: A SENSATIONAL UPROAR 8
Fabian originally thought that Michael called him out to settle scores, but in the end, they talked about the divorce instead, and his brother-in-law didn’t persist in the matters of the evening.
Seeing his brother-in-law face him so calmly, he felt he had been a bit small-minded earlier. Compared to Nathan’s openness, he felt rather ashamed.
"Thank you!"
After hesitating for a long time, he finally uttered those three words, thank you.
"You don’t need to thank me. I’m not doing this for you," Michael glanced at Fabian and continued, "I just don’t want my sister to remain stubborn. She’s already missed Easton’s childhood and teenage years; she can’t afford to miss his future as well."
He could tell that his nephew was very worried about his mother. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had his subordinates use technical means to gather information.
Michael’s words once again left Fabian speechless. It wasn’t just Amelia who missed out on Easton’s childhood and teenage years; Fabian himself had missed them too.
Regarding his eldest son, he had missed so much, and he owed so much as well. He wanted to make amends, but he didn’t know how.
"You should pay more attention to Easton in the future. He is also your son." Fabian looked full of guilt, which Michael noticed, giving him a pointed reminder before turning and leaving the garden, leaving Fabian feeling lost in the wind.
When Michael returned, Easton was not in the ward with Amelia. Instead, he was leaning against the wall near the ward door, daydreaming. It was only when he heard a sound that he lifted his head.
Seeing that it was his uncle who had returned, he slowly straightened up, waiting for his uncle to come closer.
"What exactly happened?"
When Easton asked, he subconsciously glanced behind Michael, and this small involuntary action was caught by Michael.
"Your mom was too emotionally agitated during a quarrel with your dad. Your dad was worried something would happen, so he brought her to the hospital, but she’s fine now. The doctor has given her a sedative." Michael observed Easton calmly and, seeing no significant change in Easton’s expression, he was relieved.
His explanation might have differed slightly from the actual situation, but it was still truthful. He hadn’t fabricated anything to deceive his nephew; his nephew wasn’t someone easily deceived.
Easton had no particular reaction to Michael’s words and did not verbally respond.
He simply stood there quietly, staring blankly at the wall in front of him, his face showing no sign of whether he was happy or angry.
Seeing Easton stand silently, lost in thought staring at the wall, Michael lifted his hand and patted his shoulder, "Your mom was just emotionally agitated. You don’t need to worry too much; she’ll be fine after some rest."
He understood his nephew well, knowing that he wasn’t good at expressing his emotions, but he could see that his nephew was worried about his mom now.
"Since she’s fine now, I’ll head back first." Easton neither denied nor refuted Michael; he just said this one sentence with indifference,
After speaking, he glanced at his uncle and walked briskly towards the emergency exit.
Watching the tall figure fade into the distance, Nathan let out a long sigh. Those two elders truly brought misery!
The son is so outstanding, yet the parents are so disappointing. So many years have passed, and neither has made any progress.
