Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!
Chapter 120: Yin-Yang Reversal
CHAPTER 120: YIN-YANG REVERSAL
’Yuhan? Isn’t that the same name Igaris is using in this world?’ Tian Yue, or rather, Shirley, thought inwardly. A flicker of excitement lit up her enchanting eyes.
’So, he’s already here.’
Her heart began to race.
’But how did he become a Dao Child? Did I underestimate him once again?’
She bit her lip softly, emotions stirring inside her as she recalled their last conversation.
He had grown stronger. That much was clear. But to become a Dao Child in just a few days? That was something even she hadn’t expected.
Clenching her fist, she whispered under her breath, ’I need to meet him.’
---
Far away in the Azure Dragon Empire
Misty Phoenix Sect...
"What! A new Dao Child has appeared in the Soaring Dragon Sect?"
A domineering man crowned with a phoenix skull shouted inside a massive hall filled with martial experts exuding powerful auras.
"Yes, Sect Master. It is true. We have received the intel directly from our secret sources," reported a young man respectfully, his fists cupped in front of him.
An elder with furrowed brows stepped forward.
"Sect Master, if this news is accurate, we will face fierce competition in the upcoming Martial Competitions. We must prepare accordingly."
---
Thousand Lotus Sect...
"Soaring Dragon Sect has found their Dao Child? Tsk, so what? Send out our people immediately. We women need to find one of our own. We cannot allow ourselves to fall behind before the Emperor."
___
Unbeknownst to the chaos he had stirred, a young man walked calmly through the cobbled pathways of the Soaring Dragon Sect.
Clad in a regal black-and-gold robe, he drew attention from every passerby. Because, his robe defied convention laws and regulations.
Blue was for outer disciples
Red for inner disciples
Black for martial elders
Gold for Supreme Elders and the Sect Master
But his robe was a blend of black and gold, stitched with a shimmering dragon pattern that seemed almost alive. The fabric glowed faintly with a mystic brilliance, marking him as someone extraordinary.
Igaris walked with quiet steps. His expression was as calm as a spring breeze, yet his eyes held a sharp, unshakable determination. There was no longer any hesitation in his steps. His posture exuded the pride and dominance, like an emperor walking among commoners.
Ever since the memory of his future self had awakened within him, everything had changed.
Now, he had a clear purpose. A towering goal. A singular mission.
To become stronger. Far beyond even what his future self had achieved.
And for that, he would no longer hold anything back.
He walked straight toward the Scripture Hall, the sacred place where the Soaring Dragon Sect stored its most precious Martial Arts manuals and cultivation techniques.
The majestic building stood tall and solemn, guarded by powerful formations. Its doors were made from ancient spirit wood, carved with divine beasts and runes that shimmered faintly in the daylight.
But just as Igaris was about to step inside, an old man appeared before him, blocking his path with a calm but unmovable presence.
The elder looked thin, with sharp eyes that seemed to see through everything. His robe bore the symbol of the inner gatekeepers, those who oversaw access to the Scripture Hall.
He raised an eyebrow and asked,
"This hall is not open to just anyone. Show me your identification, young man. State your name, rank, and purpose for entering."
Igaris paused, then took out the unique token he had received from sect Master Fang after completing the Trial. It glowed faintly with the mark of the Sect Master’s personal approval.
The elder’s eyes widened slightly upon seeing it.
Still, he asked again, just to be sure,
"You... are the Dao Child?"
Igaris nodded silently.
A hush seemed to fall over the area.
The elder gave a slow, respectful bow.
"Forgive my rudeness. Please, come in. The Scripture Hall is at your full disposal."
With a nod of gratitude, Igaris stepped inside the ancient hall.
"Respected Elder, who is he?" a young woman asked curiously just after Igaris disappeared into the Scripture Hall.
The elder glanced at the delicate young maiden, clearly annoyed.
"You don’t need to know. Go back to your training."
"Hmph!" the young woman snorted and turned away, clearly dissatisfied, but she didn’t dare push the matter further.
---
Inside the Scripture Hall...
Igaris reached the first floor, where shelves were filled with beginner-level martial arts and basic cultivation techniques reserved for Outer Disciples. Scrolls lined the walls, categorized by type. Palm techniques, footwork, breathing methods, and weapon arts.
He barely gave them a glance.
"These won’t help me," he thought. "Maybe for someone starting fresh, but not for me."
His gaze then turned upward toward the upper floors.
The second floor was off-limits to all but Inner Disciples. It held intermediate-grade techniques, some Qi-infused arts, and stronger spiritual cultivation methods.
The third floor was even more guarded. That level held advanced techniques, martial arts created by the Sect’s founders, and spiritual laws reserved only for Core Disciples.
Ordinary Outer Disciples wouldn’t dare to even think of ascending without permission.
But Igaris was no ordinary disciple.
"If I want to surpass even my future self... I’ll need more than what’s allowed."
He moved quietly toward the stairs, his token of approval glowing faintly as the formation around the stairs shimmered and opened before him.
With steady, resolute steps, Igaris climbed all the way to the fourth floor.
Yes, the fourth floor — the highest level of the Scripture Hall. A place sealed for generations. This was where the forbidden and the impossible techniques were stored. Martial concepts too advanced, too dangerous, or too incomplete for the common cultivator. Many of these scrolls were not even proper techniques, but theoretical legacies and fragments left behind by ancient cultivators or the Founder himself.
The moment his foot stepped onto the floor, an ancient array lit up, trembling faintly under his presence.
At that same moment, Sect Master Fang Tianhai who was deep in meditation within the Sect’s Grand Hall suddenly opened his eyes. A ripple surged through the room as his spiritual sense shot toward the top of the Scripture Hall.
"What...? The Dao Child entered the fourth floor?" Fang Tianhai’s brows creased.
His spiritual sense reached into the depths of the restricted space and located Igaris, wo was calmly browsing through the sealed scrolls.
"Why would he go there? Those are just conceptual scripts. Not even the Supreme Elders were able to comprehend them. The Founder wrote them more as a philosophical exercise than a martial art."
Still, despite the confusion, Fang Tianhai didn’t stop him.
A flicker of excitement passed through his mind.
"Perhaps... this boy is ready to create another miracle?"
Inside the fourth floor, Igaris paused before a dusty jade scroll.
Its title highlighted faintly in golden light.
