Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!
Chapter 180: Divine Intervention
CHAPTER 180: DIVINE INTERVENTION
Igaris and Evernight stood at the peak of the Forbidden Land, a vast, ancient battlefield scarred by ages of death and despair.
This was the place where he had first learned to walk.
And today, it would become the place of a miracle.
Evernight stood beside him obediently, wanting to experience the miracle by herself.
The air was thick with silence, heavy with the ghosts of forgotten wars. Blackened soil stretched endlessly beneath them, as if cursed by time itself.
Far above, high in the sky, Igaris raised his hand.
Buzz!
A sharp hum tore through the clouds. Then, behind him, the Symbol of Yin-Yang emerged — spinning gently in the air, its light balanced yet vast.
[ Yin-Yang Reversal: Reverse Curse ]
His voice rang out like a sacred decree, and as the final word left his lips, the ground beneath them trembled.
Rumble!
The transformation began slowly. First, the cursed soil softened and shimmered. It pulsed once, then again, before glowing with life. Green began to bleed into the black, and flowers began to bloom where corpses once lay. Roots cracked the dead earth, pushing upward with divine vigor.
Then came the trees.
Towering and ancient, yet newborn and untouched. They rose like emerald giants, bathing the land in light. Their leaves sang in the wind, and from the branches, crystal fruits shimmered in radiant hues.
The sky, once a dome of gray ash, parted to reveal soft blue light. Sunbeams broke through the clouds and caressed the reborn land.
From the distance, Summoners and their families, who had gathered in silence, fell to their knees. Their mouths hung open in disbelief as they witnessed the impossible.
"This... this is a Divine Intervention..." one of the elders whispered.
They watched as the land once soaked in sorrow became a paradise, resurrected from despair by a single man.
A single man stood above the sky, with the woman cloaked in silver by his side. They floated like stars etched into the night, suspended above a land reborn.
And below them, thousands knelt. Families, warriors, elders, and children — all gazing up with trembling lips and wet eyes.
"That... Man... he healed the land..."
"My son... my son can finally live without fear."
"Is this what hope feels like?" whispered an old Summoner, his voice breaking after decades of silence.
"My wife’s grave... it was just there. And now... flowers are growing... does this mean she’s at peace?" a man cried out, sobbing openly.
A young girl clutched her mother’s hand and pointed to the sky. "Mama, is that a god?"
The mother stared at Igaris with disbelief, her knees weak. "No... that is something even greater. That is a man who carries the weight of the heavens and still chooses to give us peace."
The priests of Ashvale, silent for centuries, fell prostrate with their foreheads pressed to the earth. Their chants, long forgotten, were resurrected and carried by the wind.
The children ran forward, touching the blooming flowers with wide, teary eyes.
Fathers wept. Mothers clutched their chests. The scars in their hearts began to mend.
At the center of it all stood Igaris, his gaze calm, his soul unmoved by awe, yet deeply satisfied.
Beside him, Evernight covered her lips with her hand, her heart overflowing with emotion.
He had not just healed a land.
He had rewritten fate.
Then came the ripple.
The divine light stretched beyond the edges of the Forbidden Land, illuminating the sea with golden arcs. Ocean waves paused as if in reverence, then shimmered with ethereal glow.
The Black Ocean, once a place of nightmares and curses, boiled with brilliant light. A low hum pulsed through its depths as the Eternal Curse began to unravel. Black waters turned clear. The toxic mists faded. The cries of the drowned were silenced forever.
Fish long thought extinct leapt from the surface. Coral reefs glowed anew. Even the air above the sea felt lighter, sacred, reborn.
On the opposite shore, across the sea in the distant Cities of the Federation, eyes widened in awe.
Summoners stationed at coastal watchtowers fell to their knees. Veterans who had once fled the Forbidden Land dropped their weapons and wept. They saw it. Their homeland, their prison, long lost and soaked in despair, was blooming into paradise.
Golden blossoms now decorated the ruined coastlines. Mountains that once bled darkness shimmered with divine mist.
"This is the land we abandoned..." whispered an old summoner with trembling lips.
A boy beside him clutched his robes. "Grandfather, are we... allowed to return now?"
The man could not answer. Tears streamed down his face.
In the bustling cities of the Federation, the change was noticed instantly. The air changed. The ley lines shifted. Mecha rider gasped as the divine wave entered their barriers, bringing clarity and warmth.
From towers, cathedrals, and City halls, countless eyes turned to the western sky. Rumors swept like wildfire.
"The Forbidden Land... it has been healed."
"A miracle... Someone reversed the curse."
"Who was it? What kind of god could do such a thing?"
The name was whispered. Spoken by soldiers. Muttered by priests. Carved onto the wind.
Igaris.
Overlord Igaris.
To many, the name was shrouded in fear. A tyrant. A conqueror. A mystery cloaked in shadows.
But now, it resonated with something else.
Hope.
Some began to speak of him as a true Hero. A savior. One who dared to touch the untouchable, and redeem what all others abandoned.
But they were wrong.
Above the clouds, watching over the reborn land, Igaris stood with wind brushing his cloak. He gazed upon the paradise he had forced into existence, every blade of grass grown by his will, every tree rooted in his resolve.
His expression remained calm.
"You are a hero to them now," she said softly.
"Let them say what they want," he replied to Evernight.
He closed his eyes for a moment, letting the wind speak to him. Then, he spoke as though etching his words into the sky.
"I’m not a hero. I’m not a god. I am simply fulfilling the duty of the Overlord."
And far below, the world continued to chant his name.
But Igaris was already thinking ahead.
The God Realm.
The Spirit Realm.
The ORCA.
His true foes lies in these places.
