CHAPTER 42: 42 - MORE TRAINING! [1]

A bit later, after we all ate...

We continued travelling, and our destination right now—is the lair of the boss monster.

I asked Levina to lead us there, and she readily agreed.

And now, we don’t encounter a lot of hostile creatures anymore too because of her presence. There are some who attacked us, but the members of the [Coldvale] guild took care of them all swiftly.

Also, since I want to do something as I was feeling guilty being a baggage—I started telling them the basic weaknesses of the new types of monsters that we encounter.

I also don’t know their weaknesses, to be honest. But I just ask the system and use my trait Understanding.

So with all that... We marched our way at a fast but calm pace. Nothing big happened.

And whenever I have the time, like when we stop for a while to rest, I train.

I’m trying to increase my mastery with my new skill, Psychokinesis.

And not just that, I’m training to increase my proficiency with my electric attribute.

The same with my swordsmanship and wind attribute to get them to a higher level.

But of course—I didn’t forget to train my shooting skill.

I’m literally doing that right now.

"It’s kinda rare to see an ability user using a gun."

Oscar said, looking at me with curious eyes as he saw me holding my gun.

We are now resting in a safe zone(?). I don’t know if it’s really a safe zone or not, but I don’t see any monsters nearby, so I just assumed so.

"Yeah, a lot of people told me that."

I awkwardly responded to him, scratching my cheek. I just chose the gun at first because it’s the only weapon I could use, but now it’s really my main weapon.

"Well, why don’t you change your choice of weapon? Ah, is that why you’re learning swordsmanship?"

Oscar asked me.

I shook my head at his question.

"I’m still going to use a gun even when I learn how to wield a sword."

He looked at me as if to ask ’Why?’.

I smiled, then I opened my mouth again.

"Because it’s the strongest weapon."

I said without any hint of hesitation.

Oscar looked at me weirdly, but I didn’t mind it and just ignored him.

I’m serious about what I said. I racked my brain before about why the gun became the weakest weapon.

And I actually found out why. Now I’m trying to solve all the problems about what makes it the weakest, and make it the strongest once more!

It will take a lot of time and effort. I might even fail completely.

’But I’ll still try anyway.’

So with that thought, I parted with Oscar and started cooking lunch for everyone.

...

...

...

And just like that, time passed peacefully...

FWOOSH—!

Clifford threw three stones at me, each of them are as big as a baseball.

TING! TUNK! CLANG!

And I blocked them all using the katana in my hands that was covered with mana.

"You’re a fast learner."

Clifford stated with a satisfied tone. It’s been five days since I joined them, and tomorrow—they will fight the boss monster and we will finally leave this dimension.

"I have a good teacher, that’s why."

I replied to him teasingly with a smile.

"Oh, I know right?"

Clifford just went along and shot back. He headlocked me and messed up my hair.

"Anyway, let’s do some more."

Then he let go of me and said that.

"Sure."

I immediately nodded my head and raised my sword again.

Clifford backed away and picked up five new stones on the ground, he covered them with mana.

SWOOOSH–

Then he threw them all at the same time in my direction at a terrifying speed!

Good thing Calm Thinker and Insight are currently activated to their max efficiencies as I’m also training them at the moment.

Zzzzt—

I used Electric Manipulation to manipulate the electricity in the cells of my body.

It makes me move and think a bit more faster.

Because of Levina’s teaching and my Understanding, I became proficient with using my electric attribute fast.

And upon having electric attributed mana, the characteristics of this element were etched into me, and my whole existence adapted to them!

Now I have two identifications: a human, and electric.

What are the characteristics of electricity that everyone knows of?

Its firepower is strong... And it’s terrifyingly fast!

"..."

I looked at the incoming stones in front of me. I focused myself and tightly held the grip of my katana.

Then when the stones were within my range—I swung my katana in a semicircle motion, and without stopping—I continued the swing diagonally up!

TIIIING–!

Thud- Thud- Thud- Thud- Thud—

"Ugh..."

After a loud metal ringing sound, five stones falling consecutively on the ground were heard.

I blocked all the stones in a split second. It was so fast that even I was surprised at what I just did.

My head and arms kind of hurt though, but it’s bearable.

"Whoa..."

Clifford let out a voice of admiration.

"How did you do that?"

He asked me.

"Well—"

I told him about how I manipulated my cells to make my movements and thinking faster, then I predicted the trajectories of the stones and blocked them all in one swing.

Clifford teaches me swordsmanship, so I can at least tell him this much. Also, he will most likely keep to himself what I just told him.

He doesn’t have an electric attribute too—it’s even his weakness—so I bet he wouldn’t be able to copy what I did anyway.

Moving on, as I explained that to him... The pain that I was feeling faded away.

"What an interesting way to use electricity."

Clifford mumbled out loud after hearing my words.

"Hmmm... And because you can do that, let’s increase the difficulty of your training."

Then he added that as he smiled mischievously!

"Huh?"

He picked up ten stones using both of his hands and covered them with mana.

And without warning—the next thing I saw was all the stones coming at me!

SWOOSH—!!

"Wha—?!"

My eyes widened for a second, but I immediately regained my cool.

I repeated what I did earlier like activating Insight and manipulating my cells.

I tightly held the grip of my katana.

SWISH—!

And with one swift swing of my sword—

TIIING–!

Eight stones fell on the ground.

I only blocked that much, as the other two stones were not going to hit me, so I just let them be.

CRASH!!

But when they made contact with the trees behind me, they got destroyed!

’If I get hit even by one of that, it’s gonna hurt like hell.’

I frowned as I thought of that.

"Oh, I thought you’d block them all... I see, you’re still thinking calmly and figured out that you didn’t need to block them all."

Then I heard Clifford’s voice, mumbling my exact plan earlier.

Looking in his direction, I spoke.

"Yes, and also... I think that’s the best I can do right now."

My face is calm, but my head and arms hurt. My hands are also slightly trembling because of the force I received from the stones that Clifford threw.

’He’s hella strong.’

I thought.

"Hmm... So want to stop now?"

Clifford asked me.

I shook my head and smiled.

"No, let’s continue."

What kind of idiot would let this opportunity to train with Clifford go because of slight pain?

Anyway, he smiled at my answer... Then he picked up ten stones again!

I took a fighting stance and focused myself as well.

"Then, here I go!"

SWOOSH—!

He exclaimed happily and threw the stones at a much faster speed!
