CHAPTER 329: CHAPTER 238: JUMPING INTO THE SKY PIT

The kidnappers were getting closer and closer to them, so close that they could even hear the kidnappers’ voices from behind.

Chuchu and Yan Hui were also gasping for breath, pulling each other as they moved forward.

Running like this in the mountains was the most exhausting thing to do, with both parties depleting their energy significantly, their sweat soaking their clothes then drying up.

At the edge of the cliff.

Chuchu stuffed the last two pieces of chocolate into her and Yan Hui’s mouths, one each.

With a knife in one hand and a dagger in the other, she stood in a defensive stance, staring expressionlessly at the three fierce-looking men in front of her, while behind her, Yan Hui calmly tied knots on the Military Shovel with a rope.

Behind them was a cliff, or rather a pit called Sky Pit, so deep that the bottom was invisible, with various towering trees below, the conditions at the bottom of the pit unknown.

They would rather jump into the pit than fall into the hands of kidnappers.

This time falling into the kidnappers’ hands was different from before.

If they were caught by them again, Yan Hui’s chance of survival wouldn’t be higher than jumping into the Sky Pit, and they didn’t want to let the old master be blackmailed by these people because of them, protecting the old master’s late-life reputation, especially since the other party was Japanese.

"Which country are you from? Japan? Or Huaxia?" Chuchu asked, stalling for time for Yan Hui.

The man in grey took a step forward, saying coldly with a hint of annoyance, "Stop resisting. If you come with us now, we can let you go."

Ha, he even knows the word "stop resisting," looks like he’s from Huaxia.

Chuchu sarcastically said, "You’re using me to trade with your master, aren’t you? Working for the Japanese, does your mom know about it? Your dad? Your ancestors for the last eighteen generations?

I bet they don’t know. If they did, they would probably wish they’d smashed you against the wall at birth."

Her words infuriated the man in grey, as it was apparent from the veins popping on his forehead.

Seeing that he was about to approach her, Chuchu quickly shouted, "Stop!"

The man in grey halted, and Chuchu spoke nonsense, "What do you plan to do with my companion here? Kill him? Or sell him? My companion is a super-rich tycoon, he has a lot of money. How about sparing his life? He can pay you. How much did the Japanese give you? Ten million? Twenty million? My companion can give you fifty million."

Chuchu’s outrageous offer made the three men hesitate for a moment, looking at each other, but their expressions turned fierce and resolute again.

"Don’t be delusional about wasting time. You have no other choices. You’re no match for us, any resistance is just asking for more suffering."

Chuchu "heh" chuckled, turning her head to look at Yan Hui, who had already secured the Military Shovel, grasping the rope and probing to throw it onto the towering trees inside the Sky Pit.

Yes, they were planning to jump into the Sky Pit, but not with the intention to die. If the Military Shovel could securely lodge in a fork of the tree, their lives would have an extra layer of protection.

The kidnappers clearly realized their intention, and the man in grey advanced again, attempting to capture Chuchu.

Chuchu, gripping the dagger tightly, stabbed fiercely at him, and with a spin, she kicked out. The moment her foot touched the ground, her other hand wielding the knife sliced down as well.

The man in grey hadn’t expected Chuchu to launch such a series of continuous attacks under these circumstances. His arm endured a cut from the blade, leaving a long gash from which blood flowed profusely.

Seeing this, the other two men no longer stood by and charged at Chuchu together.

No matter how skilled Chuchu was, she was not a match for the three of them, and that recent move had already consumed most of her strength. If they reached her, it was certain that she would fall into their hands.

Thinking rapidly in her mind, Chuchu swiftly retreated to Yan Hui’s side.

At the same time, on a nearby mountaintop, Jiang Kechu and Chen Ke emerged.

"Captain Jiang!" Chen Ke, looking through the binoculars, saw the situation here and shouted excitedly at Jiang Kechu, while handing him the binoculars.

Jiang Kechu was so frightened that he panicked and ran straight down the steep slope.

Here, Wan Chu’er wielded a knife and a dagger, keeping the three kidnappers at bay for the moment.

Finally, Yan Hui firmly wedged the military shovel into the tree below. He shouted "Go!" and wrapped the rope around Wan Chu’er. The two hugged each other’s waist, kicked their legs, and jumped down.

The kidnappers’ faces changed, and they lunged forward, managing only to tear a piece of Wan Chu’er’s pant leg.

Watching helplessly as Wan Chu’er and Yan Hui disappeared into the dense jungle below, the kidnappers beat the ground in frustration, at a loss for what to do next.

With the hostage gone, how would they explain to their master?

The depth of Sky Pit was unfathomable, and with so many messy trees below, jumping down would mean certain death or injury, none of them wanted to go down and court death.

Jiang Kechu and Chen Ke appeared before the kidnappers like tigers descending the mountain.

"Where are they?!" Jiang Kechu asked coldly, his expression very unsightly; his whole body exuded a murderous aura, like a demon from hell, causing all three kidnappers to shudder in fear.

Out of breath, Chen Ke thought: You’re dead meat now!

One kidnapper dumbly pointed to Sky Pit behind him, his heart pounding in terror at the thought of who these two men could be.

The next second, Jiang Kechu’s eyes turned red with rage, and he viciously kicked out. The kick was incredibly fast, like a thunderbolt, leaving the three kidnappers only time to widen their eyes in terror, unable to resist.

"Thump!"

"Bang! Bang!"

One kidnapper was kicked and flew out, slamming heavily onto the ground, while the other two were felled by Jiang Kechu with a single punch each.

In three seconds flat, Jiang Kechu had completely taken control of the battlefield.

Chen Ke gasped in admiration, quickly took out his tools, and tied up the three men on the ground so they couldn’t move.

As he tied them up mercilessly, he couldn’t help but be inwardly amazed at Captain Jiang’s surging power reaching a new level.

After knocking down the three men, Jiang Kechu didn’t look back and immediately crouched to look down into Sky Pit.

Meanwhile, after their jump, Wan Chu’er and Yan Hui at first just felt the wind rushing against them, whistling past their ears. Before they could think, branches from all over the sky stabbed toward them.

Wan Chu’er ducked instinctively to avoid her face, not expecting Yan Hui to hug her, pressing Wan Chu’er’s face into his chest.

Both, at the mercy of their falling momentum, crashed pell-mell into the trees, their bodies constantly colliding with branches.

Wan Chu’er wanted to push Yan Hui away, who took nearly all of the initial impact of the trees on himself, yet he kept hugging her tightly and she couldn’t push him away.

It felt like a very long time before the rope tightened and their descent stopped; however, they smashed violently into a thick tree trunk.

"Bang!"

Yan Hui’s back hit the tree trunk hard, making a loud noise. Wan Chu’er heard a muffled groan from Yan Hui above her head, then the arms of Yan Hui, who had been tightly holding her, loosened.
