CHAPTER 604: CHAPTER 602: HE’S A GOOD MAN

Ming Wan detected her unease, so she reached out and held Wan Chu’er’s hand, soothingly saying, "You don’t need to worry, my brother has arranged everything, and thank you for accompanying me on this journey, we will be back soon."

Ming Wan’s voice was soft and gentle, possessing a kind of magic that could calm people down and ease their nervousness.

Wan Chuer calmed down again, realizing there’s no turning back now as they were already airborne. She wondered if Jiang Kechu would be angry after reading the letter she left. He would likely be upset, but she would definitely appease him upon her return, hoping that this trip would be smooth.

Seeing Ming Wan still watching her, Wan Chuer smiled and nodded to her, saying, "I hope so. By the way, you really remind me of someone I know."

Ming Wan asked with interest, "Who?"

"Do you know Yan Hui?" Wan Chuer inquired, "He’s sort of an elder brother to me. You are a lot like him. Both of you have this calm demeanor, gentle and refined, making people feel as if they are bathed in a spring breeze."

Ming Wan laughed, "I know Yan Hui, I’ve even met him once, but I think he’s way more impressive than I am. No matter how difficult the situation, he never even frowns a bit."

Wan Chuer was delighted to hear that Ming Wan knew Yan Hui, and even met him once. She then thought that since Yan Hui was so famous, and Ming Wan wasn’t some girl who only knew about celebrity actors, it wasn’t surprising she knew him. Considering her grandfather’s background, it was quite likely they had met before.

"Yes, both of you are very composed individuals. Today was so thrilling, yet I noticed you didn’t even frown while you kept a smile on your face," Wan Chuer said cautiously.

After hearing that, Ming Wan touched her lips lightly and said, "It’s probably something I’ve gotten used to."

Seeing she was about to get lost in some not-so-happy past memories, Wan Chuer quickly changed the subject, "We should be safe now, right? Do you want to wash your face and remove your makeup to feel more comfortable?"

Ming Wan thought a moment and said, "My brother didn’t warn me to be careful on the plane, so it should be safe."

She really listens to her brother!

Wan Chuer looked around and noticed that the area ahead only had the two of them, with no other passengers around, quite peaceful. Could it be that the Crown Prince had booked the entire first-class cabin?

Once the plane reached a stable altitude, a flight attendant came over, politely and gracefully saying:

"If either of you needs anything, please feel free to tell me, I am here to serve you both for the entire flight."

Ming Wan smiled politely and said, "I would like to clean up a bit."

Even though her appearance seemed mannish, her voice was still softly feminine. The flight attendant showed no reaction upon hearing it, merely maintaining her polite distance and said, "Please follow me, the restroom is this way."

Seeing Ming Wan looking at her, Wan Chuer immediately said, "You go first, I’ll go afterward."

After Ming Wan left, Wan Chuer pulled off her wig and took out that mini computer to play with it, getting more and more engrossed, and even forgetting about her earlier unease.

A while later, Ming Wan came back, having resumed her previous graceful lady-like appearance with long flowing hair.

Wan Chuer reluctantly closed the small computer, put it back in her bag, and took her own clothes to tidy up in the restroom.

When she came out, she saw Ming Wan looking out the window. Wan Chuer thought to herself, she must be happy because she would soon be seeing the one she loves.

"You’re back." Ming Wan smiled at her and asked, "Your makeup skills are impressive, were you specially trained?"

Wan Chuer nodded, "Yes, I learned it for fun when I was bored before." She didn’t intend to mention the training she had in college, knowing the Crown Prince could find out about it, and Ming Wan probably knew too.

She felt that her years of life wasted all those hard-learned training skills, only bringing up melancholic feelings.

The journey was long, with the plane flying for over ten hours.

After chatting idly with Wan Chuer about insignificant topics, Ming Wan said she wanted to take a nap, then covered herself with a blanket and closed her eyes to fall asleep.

Wan Chuer shrugged, instinctively feeling Ming Wan was avoiding her questions about her ex-boyfriend by hastily going to sleep, but it didn’t matter, they would meet and talk eventually.

She shifted her seat to the other side towards a window corner to continue playing on her computer, allowing them not to disturb each other.

After playing for about three to four hours, Wan Chuer’s eyes felt a bit tired, so she put away her computer, stretched a bit, and upon turning, she saw Ming Wan staring at the clouds outside again.

She pressed the bell, called the flight attendant and ordered some food, also asking Ming Wan if she wanted anything to eat.

Ming Wan only asked for a glass of water. Wan Chuer jokingly said, "You’re turning into Little Dragon Maiden, only needing dewdrops to satisfy your hunger."

Ming Wan smiled and said, "I just don’t have an appetite now."

After finishing their meal and the flight attendant taking away the dishes, Wan Chuer moved next to Ming Wan again, asking, "Can you tell me about your ex-boyfriend? It’s okay if you don’t want to."

Ming Wan paused and simply said, "He’s a good person."

And then?

Wan Chuer waited a while, but Ming Wan didn’t say anything else and turned to look out the window again.

Are the clouds outside really that mesmerizing? No matter how beautiful they are, after several hours, it should be enough, shouldn’t it?

Thinking Ming Wan didn’t want to talk, Wan Chuer stopped pushing. She paced back and forth down the narrow aisle for a while before lying down to sleep. Sleeping was indeed more suitable for such a long journey.

The chilly air, blue skies clear and devoid of clouds, as a plane from the East slowly descended at the capital airport of Y country.

Following the Crown Prince’s instructions, Wan Chuer led Ming Wan through a series of formalities and checkpoints, finally exiting the airport.

At the customs exit, Wan Chuer deliberately looked around and finally spotted the people from the five photos among the crowd. Each was dressed differently, some as business people, others like travelers, some with big bags presumably visiting friends or relatives, while others appeared as students with glasses—scattered among the crowd, seemingly unacquainted.

Some looked away quickly after making eye contact with Wan Chuer, appearing as if they didn’t recognize her at all.

Ha, they are quite good at pretending, Wan Chuer thought it amusing.

They needed to take a car from the capital to another city in Y country, unsure if the Crown Prince had arranged for someone to drive them.

After waiting outside for a while without seeing anyone arrive, Ming Wan remained calm, quietly following her without speaking, unsure if it was indifference or distraction.

Truly a princess!

Wan Chuer raised her hand to shield her eyes from the sunlight, looking towards the distant taxi stand, she said to Ming Wan, "Wait here and keep an eye on our luggage. I’ll go and try to get us two taxis." It was said the English spoken here could be difficult to understand, so she had crammed a few phrases in Y country’s language in case she needed to communicate more fluently.
