Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets
Chapter 376: Divorced
CHAPTER 376: CHAPTER 376: DIVORCED
"Auntie, Xiao Yue." Mo Xiaorui said happily as she pulled Tang Yue along, seemingly with endless things to talk about.
Luo Wen called out to his aunt and greeted Tang Yue, then rested on the side holding Luo Mingxuan.
Mo Xiaolin quietly took Luo Mingxuan from him. Being only a few months old, the baby was still oblivious to the world, giggling and babbling away, with his big, clear eyes constantly darting around.
When Tang Yue saw Luo Mingxuan, she couldn’t help but praise him, "Xiao Rui, Mingxuan really has inherited all the good traits from his parents. In the future, who knows how many young girls’ hearts he will charm."
"Xiao Yue, you say he might charm others, but no one is as incredible as Si Yu". Mo Xiaorui recalled how those girls used to sneakily inquire about Mo Siyu’s news, and how she often received love letters asking her to pass them on to him.
"Xiao Yue, don’t take it the wrong way, but Si Yu keeps other women at bay—not within three steps, no, not even within five steps. He always has a cold expression, almost like everyone owes him money." This was something Mo Xiaorui had deeply experienced.
"Exactly." Mo Xiaolin chimed in, "Back then Si Yu had me worried to death. Boys his age were already fathers, but Si Yu, he didn’t even have the shadow of a girl by his side."
"Xiao Yue, thankfully you appeared, otherwise during New Year’s, your aunt here would have been so anxious." Mo Xiaorui said with a playful smile.
Suddenly, Mo Xiaorui said, "Xiao Yue, in terms of family hierarchy, I should call you cousin-in-law. From now on, just call me Xiao Rui, no need to add ’sister’."
"Okay." Tang Yue didn’t refuse; after all, Mo Siyu was indeed older than Mo Xiaorui.
"Wow." Mo Xiaorui exclaimed, not at all like someone who had just become a mother. She said, "Auntie, Xiao Yue, I came over today to tell you some good news. Sister Xiaoyu will arrive in town tonight. Uncle has specifically sent me to tell you, and invited you to join us for dinner as well."
"Xiao Yue is here too, so let’s all have dinner together tonight." Mo Xiaorui warmly invited her.
"Sister Xiaoyu is coming back?" Mo Xiaolin thought of Mo Xiaoyu, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time and asked, "Xiao Yue, when you went to Sea City last time, you must have seen Xiaoyu, right?"
"I saw her, Sister Xiaoyu is very beautiful." Tang Yue responded, quietly pondering to herself that Sister Xiaoyu’s return this time might make it impossible to keep her divorce a secret.
That evening, Mo Xiaolin took Tang Yue with her for the dinner.
The eldest brother Mo Xiaofeng had also moved to the town. His son Mo Weidong and Tang Jun, attending the same school, were almost inseparable from Tang Jun, and would also hang out with Zhang Qiang and Wei Jiajie, training with Zhu Yuanchao after school breaks.
Mo Xiaofeng’s home near the school was not new, but it had a courtyard and was kept very clean and spacious.
When Tang Yue and Mo Xiaolin arrived, both uncles and aunts were very enthusiastic.
Tang Yue brought plenty of gifts with her, and although Zheng Chunhong verbally insisted she needn’t have brought anything, deep down she was pleased. It proved Tang Yue valued the Mo Family, and by extension, valued Si Yu.
Tang Yue had now recognized all members of the Mo Family. She was well acquainted with the two uncles, Mo Weidong and Mo Xiaorui, and knew everyone else except for the young Mo Xiaoyao.
Tang Yue was beautiful and sweet-talking, plus she had once saved Mo Xiaorui, which made it easy for her to integrate into the large Mo Family.
The Mo Family was lively and harmonious.
Tang Yue wondered to herself, once Mo Xiaoyu returns and her divorce is revealed, would the Mo Family be turned upside down?
Having not seen her for half a year, she wondered how Sister Xiaoyu was faring in Sea City. After a couple of phone calls, it seemed that the business was doing well, and from Sister Xiaoyu’s voice, it seemed that she was living well even after her divorce.
Time passed bit by bit, and by four in the afternoon, Mo Xiaoyu returned home.
Mo Xiaoyu brought Xie Tiantian with her. Compared to the last time, Xie Tiantian had grown quite a bit taller. Her face still carried baby fat, and her large round eyes were especially clear.
Xie Tiantian looked around with her beautiful eyes and, upon seeing Tang Yue, she rushed up and exclaimed, "Pretty, auntie!"
"Tiantian, you still remember me?" Tang Yue was extraordinarily surprised and embraced Xie Tiantian, affectionately holding her close.
"I remember." Xie Tiantian nodded. During the time Tang Yue lived in Sea City, Xie Tiantian almost spent every day with her. Later on, Tang Yue also sent clothes to Xie Tiantian several times, which made Xie Tiantian keep this pretty aunt in her heart.
"Tiantian, you only remember your aunt and not your grandmother?" Seeing how close Xie Tiantian was to Tang Yue, Zheng Chunhong’s heart grew even fonder of her daughter-in-law, Mo Xiaoyu. Zheng Chunhong hadn’t seen her little granddaughter for a long time and naturally missed her terribly.
Xie Tiantian sweetly called out, "Grandma."
"Ah." Zheng Chunhong hugged Xie Tiantian and asked, "Where’s Xie Quan? Why didn’t he come back with you? You’re carrying so much stuff; how could he be at ease letting you travel with the child alone?"
Zheng Chunhong was complaining about Xie Quan.
Mo Xiaoyu smiled awkwardly and said, "He didn’t come back."
Mo Xiaofeng also missed his little granddaughter and took Xie Tiantian from Zheng Chunhong’s arms. The Mo Family members all took turns speaking with Xie Tiantian.
Zheng Chunhong vaguely noticed that something was off with Mo Xiaoyu and took the opportunity while putting away the luggage to ask, "Xiaoyu, did you have a fight with Xie Quan? Did he mistreat you?"
"Mom." As soon as Mo Xiaoyu opened her mouth, her voice choked with emotion.
Zheng Chunhong’s heart skipped a beat. She pulled Mo Xiaoyu to sit down and asked, "Xiaoyu, don’t cry. If he dares to mistreat you, our Mo Family won’t stand for it. Just tell me what happened."
Mo Xiaoyu hung her head low and after a long moment, she lifted her tear-stained face and said, "Mom, we got divorced."
"What?" Zheng Chunhong was shocked as she looked at Mo Xiaoyu, feeling as if the sky was falling.
Although nowadays, a divorce wouldn’t lead to life-or-death drama, it was still a matter that sounded ill-reputed.
"Xiaofeng." Zheng Chunhong called out unconsciously.
"Chunhong, we’re about to eat, what are you doing staying in the room?" Mo Xiaofeng was walking towards the room, calling out as he did so.
"Xiaofeng, come here quickly." Zheng Chunhong shouted as she grabbed Mo Xiaofeng who had just entered the room, "Xiaofeng, your daughter is saying she got divorced, I didn’t hear wrong, did I?"
Zheng Chunhong always felt she must have misheard.
"What?" Mo Xiaofeng’s expression changed, "Is it that Xie Quan has become ungrateful? Did he forget everything from the past now that he has money?"
"Mom and dad, calm down a bit." Mo Xiaoyu was somewhat afraid to face Mo Xiaofeng’s expression.
Outside the room, hearing the commotion, Mo Xiaolin and Deng Yuhua also came in, asking what had happened.
