Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets
Chapter 395: The Lian Family Is the Lian Family
CHAPTER 395: CHAPTER 395: THE LIAN FAMILY IS THE LIAN FAMILY
Tang Mingli immediately realized that since the factory had not started construction yet, and Zhu Yuanchao had been living in Jing City all this time, there really was no need. Tang Mingli said, "Brother Zhu, you should go to the factory first and continue doing what you’ve been doing. Once the new factory is built, you can bring your whole family to Jing City."
"Okay." Zhu Yuanchao agreed readily. He was very satisfied with his current job. He had had doubts when Qi Song first introduced him to it, thinking it wasn’t quite suitable, but having been at it for a while now, he had grown to like it.
Every day he was responsible for ensuring the factory’s security and training some people, and his wife also worked in the factory, earning much more than before.
They, as a couple, had saved money as well, so they no longer worried about their child’s education.
Tang Mingli and his wife Wei Jiajia were packing their things. Before parting, Tang Mingli and his brother Tang Zhengde sat in the living room and talked for a long time.
Going to Jing City to set up the factory, although they were hopeful, whether they could actually make money was still unknown.
Especially since Tang Mingli had taken out a loan of one million from the bank for this, and not just Tang Mingli—Tang Zhengde also felt its heavy burden.
The next day, Tang Mingli, full of energy, set out on the road. The belongings he brought were not many; most of the things were already set up there. All he needed to do was to take good care of little You’an and protect Jiajia.
Zhu Yuanchao was handling some of their luggage, like buying tickets and such.
After arriving in Jiang City, Designer Feng Xiaobing soon joined them, and so did the factory director, Ding Chao.
For this trip to start the branch factory, Tang Mingli thought that with Ding Chao there, as the experienced factory director, he would know things that Tang Mingli might not consider or even think of.
Ding Chao had known about the move to Jing City for some time, and he had arranged everything so meticulously in the factory that even if he and Tang Mingli were absent, the garment factory would not be thrown into chaos. Besides, if there were any issues, they could always be contacted by phone.
The group set off for Jing City in high spirits.
In Jing City, Tang Yue had also been making preparations. She had checked Lian Qingyang’s house; it was about the same size as the place she lived, but the decoration was more luxurious and nicer.
Tang Yue had wanted to tidy up a bit, but after seeing the place, she realized there was really nothing to tidy. All her uncle’s family needed to do was to bring their clothes and move in. Everything was clean, and the place was only a few dozen meters away from where she lived; it would take maybe a minute to walk there.
After the Lantern Festival, the new school term would begin. Tang Yue had lessened the hours of her design course and had more free time. Every day she would visit the securities company, and little by little, she steadily increased her wealth.
Bai Qing, however, wasn’t in a hurry to invest the entire million all at once; she mostly followed Tang Yue’s lead, testing the waters first. Whatever Tang Yue suggested she buy, she bought.
Now, Bai Qing only had one thing on her mind: that following Tang Yue would mean having food to eat and money to earn.
Tang Yue’s routine was very regular; she would go to classes when there were any and most other times she spent in the lanes. Bai Qing would prepare the ingredients, and Tang Yue would just need to cook.
Tang Yue always told Bai Qing that she didn’t have to do this, but Bai Qing would hold her with a smile and say, "Xiao Yue, the food you cook is tastier. Haven’t you noticed, I’m about to turn into a ball?"
Bai Qing pinched her belly. Although not as exaggerated as turning into a ball, she had indeed gained a layer of weight compared to when she first arrived, which was actually flattering on her naturally slender frame, unlike her previously too thin appearance.
"Sister Qing, you look just right now; you used to be a bit too skinny." Tang Yue said this and casually asked Bai Qing’s age before decisively calling her "Sister Qing."
Xiao Yue, I need to lose some weight," Bai Qing started clamoring about losing weight again, but each time she ended in failure.
Finally, the day arrived when Tang Mingli and his family reached Jing City. Tang Yue happened to have no classes that day, so she and Bai Qing went to the train station early to meet them.
As time passed by, Tang Yue waved happily when she saw Tang Mingli carrying the sleeping Tang You’an, with Wei Jiajia also by his side.
Designer Feng, Factory Director Ding Chao, and Uncle Zhu, Tang Yue greeted each of them and then took them back to the alleyways.
Qin Anyu knew that guests were arriving, so she made a special trip back as well.
This was Wei Jiajia’s first visit to Jing City, and seeing where Tang Yue lived, it was indeed as Tang Mingli said, wonderfully nice, and Wei Jiajia took a liking to it instantly. Perhaps, settling down here wouldn’t be a bad idea after all.
The awakened Tang You’an, seeing his sister, happily clung to Tang Yue, refusing to let go.
Tang Yue introduced them to Qin Anyu. When Lian Qingyang showed up too, Tang Mingli was slightly taken aback but didn’t say much.
After the meal, Tang Yue quietly said to Tang Mingli, "Uncle Mingli, the house I’ve rented for you this time belongs to Lian Qingyang, you don’t mind, do you?"
Tang Mingli responded with a counter-question: "Xiao Yue, you and the Lian Family people..."
Tang Mingli paused, actually wanting to ask about her relationship with Lian He but didn’t know how to phrase it, and so he trailed off.
Tang Yue chuckled lightly: "Uncle Mingli, Lian Qingyang is Lian Qingyang, the Lian Family people are the Lian Family people. Lian Qingyang is quite a likable kid, isn’t he?"
In Tang Yue’s eyes, isn’t Lian Qingyang just an immature child who only hangs around her to play games?
Even if she resents how quick Lian He fell out of love, Lian Qingyang is truly not easy to dislike.
"Sigh," Tang Mingli let out a sigh and said, "Lian He... whether you acknowledge it or not, he’s your dad. But then again, if you want to acknowledge him, we will. If you don’t, nobody can force you."
"Uncle Mingli," Tang Yue gratefully looked at Tang Mingli.
Tang Mingli said, "Xiao Yue, this is also what your parents think."
"Uncle Mingli, you won’t mind renting his house, will you?" Tang Yue was touched by her parents’ feelings, but she also understood that this was just how her parents were; they wanted to come only if it made her happy.
"It’s fine, whose house we rent doesn’t matter. But I will be paying the rent," Tang Mingli spoke earnestly and also made it clear to Lian Qingyang. After inspecting the house, Tang Mingli also inquired about the rental prices of the surrounding houses and ended up paying quite a bit more to rent Lian Qingyang’s house.
Lian Qingyang originally intended to charge only a nominal fee, but Tang Mingli was very firm, insisting, "Lian Qingyang, if you don’t take this money, we’ll find somewhere else to rent, even if it’s farther away."
Xiao Yue doesn’t owe them anything; she can’t take advantage of the Lian Family just because of renting a house. Otherwise, how could Xiao Yue hold her head up in front of the Lian Family?
Tang Mingli thought very carefully about this matter, even going so far as to draw up a contract specifying a one-time rent with a clear amount for one year’s rental fees. After reviewing it several times, Tang Mingli signed his name, then moved into the house with Wei Jiajia.
