CHAPTER 441: 441 SEASIDE

Qian Jun sat in his office for a while and decided to go find Jiang Xinyu.

When he arrived at her office door, he heard a meeting going on inside.

He stood outside for a while and then turned to leave.

He couldn’t get over the hurdle in his heart, and Jiang Xinyu was avoiding him as well, so he thought he might as well stop thinking about her.

Now he himself didn’t even know what to do. He really didn’t like those women who lack ability, but today Yao Shimin also had a point.

Ordinary women can prioritize family and take good care of it.

Having made up his mind, he thought he’d go for Gao Ruyun, that girl was pretty and obedient. As for Secretary Cao mentioned by Yao Shimin, honestly, her looks didn’t appeal to him.

Friday morning, Jiang Xinyu was walking to work, but tonight she would drive home. Their family was going to the seaside. She also called Ding Shihong to inform him that she’d send the chili and garlic on Monday.

The place at the seaside had been notified, and accommodations were arranged for them, but they wouldn’t stay there tonight. Jiang Xinyu planned to leave at 1 am; it takes an hour and a half to get there, allowing them to see the sunrise over the sea.

While having lunch, she specially instructed Yao Shimin, "I won’t be home for the weekend, let Jingyi know. Or let her stay one more day? I’ll bring her some goodies back?"

"Haha, I will call her in a bit."

After work, Jiang Xinyu didn’t rush back, as there were too many workers. It was better to avoid them since people are different.

After driving home, the family had dinner, "Shi Jing, Feifei, let’s rest early today; we need to leave at 1 am."

"Mom, can we really see the sunrise over the sea?"

"Yes, we can also see fishing boats come ashore, and we can enjoy lots of delicious food."

The two kids, due to excitement, couldn’t fall asleep instead.

Jiang Xinyu looked at them and thought it was quite funny; they were still kids.

She prepared some food, also brought some grains since they’d be having communal meals there.

At 1 am, she woke the two kids, and Master Shang joined them; the four of them set off.

After getting in the car, the two kids were suddenly energized, "Mom, do you know the way?"

"Of course, we used to ride bicycles here, and your father and I drove here once too. I can find the way."

Near three o’clock, they reached the seaside without going to the village.

All four got out of the car, "Mom, there’s a certain smell here." Shi Jing said excitedly.

"Yes, that’s the ocean smell. Do you like it?"

"I like it."

"Feifei, do you like it?"

"I do, Mom. Can you take us to play by the water?"

"Sure, but only along the shore. Let’s take off our shoes."

Jiang Xinyu held the two kids’ hands, strolling along the seaside, stepping on the soft sand which felt particularly good.

"Mom, this place is great, so comfortable."

"I estimate that the tide will rise in an hour, and the shore won’t be safe then. Both of you are too young, and I’m afraid you might be swept away by the waves."

The three of them walked along the beach. "Mom, look at the sea."

"Those should be fishing boats; they have lights on. But they can’t land yet; they need to wait for the tide to rise."

"Mom, look over there?"

"That’s a crab, but mom doesn’t dare to catch it; the two pincers at the front are very strong, but cooked crab is very delicious."

The three would bend down from time to time to pick up many shells, but Jiang Xinyu couldn’t recognize them all. However, she told the two kids that these were edible, but to eat shells, they must be soaked in water to spit out sand, that way they’ll be tasty.

"Are you two tired?"

"Mom, I’m not tired, I want to wait for the tide and the sunrise over the sea."

Feifei also chimed in, "Mom, I’m not tired either."

After another hour, the waves visibly crashed onto the shore, making the two kids laugh merrily and run forward with the waves chasing from behind.

Jiang Xinyu felt she made the right choice coming here; the two kids were too lonely, and playing outside made them happy.

In less than an hour, the fishing boats landed. As they were unloading, the four of them went over, and Jiang Xinyu saw a familiar face – the man who had them over for a meal last time.

The man also recognized Jiang Xinyu, "Comrade, you’re here again?"

"Yes, Uncle, how’s today’s catch?"

"Pretty good, there are a few big fish today. Do you want them?"

"Are they still alive? I’m leaving on Sunday afternoon."

"No, they’ll have to wait until the day after tomorrow morning to see."

Jiang Xinyu felt quite disappointed; fishing doesn’t guarantee you’ll always have the catch.

"Uncle, do you have anything else good?"

"Yes, today’s sea prawns are especially large; we have over two hundred pounds."

Jiang Xinyu called over the two kids, "Shi Jing, Feifei, stay here and play with Master Qian, mom will give some away."

"Sure, mom, you go and be busy."

Shang Zhenkun also nodded, "Don’t worry; leave the kids to me."

Jiang Xinyu happily went to negotiate with the uncle. In the end, she bought two hundred sixty pounds of sea prawns, six sea fish, and shell prawns.

At the shore, they drained water for an hour; someone returned from the village with large plastic sheets, then loaded them into six baskets in the car.

Jiang Xinyu asked the uncle to take them back to the village to find the village head.

She drove back, stopping halfway to empty all the baskets. Then, by the woods, she cleaned the car, leaving all doors open to let the smell out.

Tomorrow, she wouldn’t bring too much seafood back; the smell was really strong. She didn’t know if there were foam boxes now, but even if they were there, it wouldn’t work without ice.

But she had to bring some back for her friends. Dry goods could be collected when the kids weren’t around and stored in a special place, but she must show visibly having them.

The weather was too hot, staying around here wasn’t comfortable either, so she decided to use this time to collect some dry goods in the beach village.

Jiang Xinyu only collected dried shrimp, these kinds of shellfish, fish, shell shrimps, and spent five hundred for the entire morning, which was quite a sum.

Back in the village, she went to the village head’s home, but the children and Shang Zhenkun weren’t there.

Using this opportunity, she gathered another load, took a stroll, then came back to continue collecting; these didn’t need to go into that special space.

Jiang Xinyu deliberately went to the supply and marketing company, bought lots of plastic sheets, so the car wouldn’t get dirty.

Thinking about future meetings with the car smelling of fish, she felt a bit uncomfortable.

She couldn’t just buy dried goods; fresh goods also needed to be taken back.

The children came back happily; Shang Zhenkun carrying baskets filled with their bounty from exploring the coastal waters with friends.
