CHAPTER 460: CHAPTER 274: INFORMING / HOSPITAL VISIT (2)
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I was just worrying about Captain Xiang’s injury." Ye Qingzhu gently massaged Luo Ye’s wrist, her face full of apologies.
"Really?" Luo Ye pouted and muttered under her breath: "Lip service!"
"Room 105, this is the one." Zhan Hao said as he knocked on the door.
The door opened, and a seven or eight-year-old girl stood at the doorway, her delicate face bearing a sweet smile: "Mommy is helping daddy wipe down his body, could brother and sisters wait a moment, please?"
Ye Qingzhu stepped forward and gently touched the little girl’s head: "Little Mi, do you still remember me?"
"Auntie Zhuzi!" The little girl’s eyes beamed with joy.
"Auntie?" Xing Nong stuck out her tongue.
"Little Mi is seven years old, isn’t it appropriate for her to call me auntie?" Ye Qingzhu pointed at Xing Nong: "Little Mi, this is Aunt Xing Nong."
"Hello, Aunt Xing Nong!"
Xing Nong’s face twitched: "Hello, Little Mi!" With a look of helpless frustration, it drew a smile from everyone behind her.
"Little Mi, here’s some chocolate for you." Wu Zetian took out a box of chocolates from his bag and offered it to Little Mi.
Little Mi shook her head: "Brother, I’m sorry, but daddy and mommy won’t let me accept gifts."
Xing Nong muttered discontentedly: "Why is he ’brother’ and I ’auntie’? It should be fair. Little Mi, he is Uncle Male Emperor."
"Come in, all’s set!" A woman’s voice came from inside, and the group quickly pushed the door and entered. Captain Xiang, half-reclining on the bed, smiled: "It’s you guys, come in." Turning to the gentle woman beside him he said, "Liu Li, you know Qingzhu, this is Zhan Hao, this is Luo Ye..." Xiang Mingliang introduced his visitors to his wife.
After exchanging greetings, Ye Qingzhu asked with concern: "Captain Xiang, we just finished our exercises yesterday and aren’t aware of the specifics. Where were you injured? How is the recovery going?"
Xiang Mingliang waved his hand with a smile: "It’s nothing, just need to recuperate a bit longer then I can be discharged."
"What do you mean by ’something’?" Liu Li’s tears started to stream: "A compound fracture in his lower leg, two broken ribs, and a stab wound in the abdomen. The doctor said if that stab had been just slightly off, he would’ve lost his life."
"That serious?" Ye Qingzhu furrowed her brows.
"What did the doctor say?" Luo Ye also looked worried.
Liu Li wiped the tears from the corner of her eye: "The recovery is going well, he’ll be discharged in five or six days to recuperate at home, but he won’t be able to do physical labor in the future."
The faces of Luo Ye and the others grew grave; this indirectly meant that he could no longer serve as the captain of the cadets and would be relegated to a desk job.
Ye Qingzhu put an arm around Liu Li’s shoulder: "The higher-ups will surely make the proper arrangements, sister-in-law, don’t worry."
"Principal Han has already said that once he recovers, he will be transferred to the Educational Affairs Office as a deputy director," Liu Li sighed. "It’s just that he can’t come to terms with it, he’s been very emotional these past couple of days."
"I understand Captain Xiang’s feelings, as a non-technical soldier, switching to a civilian role can’t be easy," Ye Qingzhu saluted Xiang Mingliang: "Captain Xiang, I believe you’ll adjust well!"
"Ye, thank you." Xiang Mingliang smiled and changed the subject: "Tell me about the results of the military training, I’ve been thinking about it."
While everyone was chatting away, Luo Ye sneaked out and went to Zhong Yi’s office, knocked on the door and pushed it open: "Doctor Zhong, are you busy?"
"Luo Ye, what brings you here?" Zhong Yi looked her up and down: "Who’s sick this time?"
"Our team captain got injured and hospitalized. I saw his nameplate and that you’re not his attending physician, so I came looking for you." Luo Ye blinked her eyes playfully: "Nice of me, right?"
"I haven’t wasted my time giving you those special medicines." Zhong Yi looked at Luo Ye a bit nervously: "My phone number, did you give it to Qingzhu?"
"Oops, I forgot!" Luo Ye slapped her forehead with a look of regret: "I actually saw her the day before yesterday, we chatted briefly before she had to leave, I’m really sorry."
Zhong Yi hesitated: "Then you didn’t get her phone number?"
"No!" Luo Ye shook her head.
"Do you know where she is, at least?"
"That’s confidential, I don’t know either!"
"I see, then it’ll have to wait for the next time." Zhong Yi appeared disappointed, then quickly changed the subject: "You know about the medical project contract with the senior home, right?"
"I don’t, I’ve just finished military training yesterday, and haven’t contacted Qu Yue yet." Luo Ye grinned mischievously: "Do you want to see Sister Qingzhu that much?"
Zhong Yi glanced at her: "What do you think? An inefficient job, and you have the nerve to ask me?"
"I’m outta here!" Luo Ye huffed: "Find someone capable to take care of your business. I’m done with it."
Zhong Yi quickly stood up and followed her: "Miss, I’m just stating the facts, how can you turn it back on me? What if I say I was wrong, would that work?"
Luo Ye stopped in her tracks, her lips curving into a smile: "Forget it, I won’t tease you anymore, I’ve already given Qingzhu your number, but it was just given to her the day before yesterday. I predicted she’d be too shy to contact you. Let’s go."
"You mean she’s also in the hospital?" Zhong Yi’s face lit up with surprise.
"Yeah, she’s in our captain’s room right now. I sneaked away while everyone was chatting to give you the news. Touched, aren’t you?"
"Moved, very moved!" Zhong Yi’s voice quivered with excitement: "Luo Ye, that project at the senior home, I won’t make you worry about it!"

Nu’an’s second update, seeking pink rewards to encourage! I’m working so hard on these updates, come on, show some support, let Nu’an passionately increase the updates next week, please... I need sugar...
Nu’an saw that some of you guys commented, wanting more interaction between the male and female leads, as there wasn’t enough in the beginning. Let me explain this: in the early part, Protecting the Family, when Luo Ye was too young, the male lead was just a bystander. In the Realizing Dreams phase, there will be more and more opportunities for the male and female leads to be together, but please don’t rush it, guys. As Military Academy Students, it’s neither possible nor realistic for the male and female leads to be together every day. As the female lead progresses, there will be chances for her to work on missions with the male lead, and the interaction will naturally pick up. Plus, from my setup, you should understand that I’m already creating opportunities for them. Saying more would be too much of a spoiler. In any case, rest assured that the interactions will become more numerous.
I haven’t been replying much in the comments section these past few days because I’ve been feeling down and reflecting on myself, please forgive me.
