Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 452: Mrs. Sinclair’s Opinion
CHAPTER 452: CHAPTER 452: MRS. SINCLAIR’S OPINION
Elias Sinclair rushed in because he was in a hurry, not expecting to see the scene in front of him.
The elegant beauty like a lotus emerging from water had her face flushed at the moment, her hair casually draped on her shoulders, with water droplets sliding down her hair, dripping onto Quinn Lockwood’s shoulder, tracing down her collarbone, and then disappearing into the neckline of her sleepwear.
The man’s fair and handsome face flushed an unnatural red, and he quickly looked away.
"The clothes got stuck in the back, you can’t reach it."
"Come here, let me help you sort it out." Elias Sinclair stepped back from the doorway, slightly closing the bathroom door, leaving only enough space for an arm to pass through.
Quinn Lockwood bit her lip, both hands pressed against her chest, tightly clutching the towel, her eyes evasively avoiding his gaze.
She knew her clothes were caught in the back, but...
But she was too embarrassed to ask Elias Sinclair for help pulling them down.
Yet without his help... she couldn’t just go out like this, or take them off and put them on again.
"Um... sorry to trouble you..." Quinn Lockwood lifted her gaze to Elias Sinclair, seeing that he genuinely wasn’t looking her way, which reassured her somewhat.
She backed up step by step to the door, offering her back to Elias Sinclair’s waiting hand.
The man’s slightly warm fingers lightly brushed against Quinn Lockwood’s spine as he unclasped the clothing, sending a gentle ticklish sensation that made her heart race unconsciously.
"There." Elias Sinclair pulled the clothing down, turning his gaze back as he finished.
"Th-thank you." Quinn Lockwood still clutched the towel tightly, biting her lip gently, looking like a startled little deer. Her rounded eyes were misty, and her face was flushed, whether from the steam or from embarrassment.
Quinn Lockwood lowered her head, darted past Elias Sinclair clinging to the doorframe, tossing the towel onto the sofa, pretending to search for something.
"I-I’ll go get some water; you don’t have my cup here." Quinn Lockwood didn’t give Elias Sinclair a chance to respond before she hurriedly jogged out of the room.
Leaning against the bathroom door, Elias Sinclair watched Quinn Lockwood’s panicked steps, the corners of his mouth curled into a slight smile, and his brows relaxed entirely, revealing a hint of delight.
He looked at the water stains scattered across the bathroom floor from Quinn Lockwood’s splashing, his face initially darkened but quickly returned to normal.
Elias Sinclair was a clean freak and couldn’t tolerate any filth or disorder in his private space.
If Quinn Lockwood knew she’d just made a mess of Elias Sinclair’s bathroom, she’d be surprised he didn’t even react.
The bathroom air was still filled with the scent of Quinn Lockwood’s favorite fruity body wash, followed by the sound of running water.
As Quinn Lockwood reached the first floor, her rapidly beating heart still hadn’t calmed.
Did Elias Sinclair just see her... her body again!
Oh god, it’s too embarrassing!
Thinking about what had just happened, Elias Sinclair’s sexy chest involuntarily appeared as a gif in her mind.
Stop thinking, stop thinking, she saw him, he saw her, it’s even, it’s even!
Quinn Lockwood shook her head vigorously, trying to shake off the tantalizing images from her mind.
When she approached the water dispenser and was about to pick up a cup, she heard Mr. Sinclair and Mrs. Sinclair’s conversation in the living room.
"This time back, I noticed Savannah has changed a lot; as The Lowell Family’s heir and only daughter, her status is more than enough to match Elias."
"Plus, I heard from Franklin Lowell that Savannah has been learning how to handle company matters with Cameron Grant lately and has been working late every day." Mr. Sinclair sat cross-legged on the sofa, talking seriously to Mrs. Sinclair about Quinn Lockwood.
"Besides, Elias likes her, and the two of them get along comfortably, which is the most important thing." Mr. Sinclair turned his head to Mrs. Sinclair as if agreeing with his own point of view.
Mrs. Sinclair, who originally didn’t have a good impression of Savannah, slightly frowned upon hearing Mr. Sinclair’s words, though her expression remained tense.
"I know about this." Mrs. Sinclair sighed, picking up her tea cup and taking a sip.
"But the silly things she’s done in the past were really thoughtless, unlike Maya, she’s very steady."
"As for Savannah, I’m worried about what might happen to The Lowell down the road..."
"Would she ruin it." After finishing her sentence, Mrs. Sinclair’s expression grew more troubled.
She wasn’t looking for the benefits and value offered by The Lowell Family and The Sinclair Family alliance but genuinely worried about the future of The Lowell Group.
After all, the Sinclairs and the Lowells have had ties going back generations, and neither family wants to see it fail or face a crisis.
"Nonsense!" Mr. Sinclair’s tone suddenly turned cold, and his brows furrowed entirely.
Quinn Lockwood, already feeling a bit down because of Mrs. Sinclair’s opinion of her, was startled by Mr. Sinclair’s displeased reprimand. She accidentally knocked into the water dispenser, causing a cup on the rack to fall with a loud clatter.
"Who’s there?" Mrs. Sinclair’s face changed suddenly at the noise, sitting upright and looking toward the water dispenser.
"Oh, Mom, you’re still up?"
"Dad’s here too..." Quinn Lockwood picked up the cup, emerged from the stairwell corner, and was surprised to see Mr. Sinclair and Mrs. Sinclair on the sofa.
She held the cup close to her chest, a shallow respectful smile on her face.
At this moment, Quinn Lockwood was grateful to be an actor.
Though she hadn’t meant to overhear, the two elders were discussing her, making it hard to act like nothing had happened.
"Savannah, you..."
"You’re not asleep either." Mrs. Sinclair took a step toward Quinn Lockwood, her face showing some awkwardness and stiffness.
Quinn Lockwood calmly raised her hand holding the cup and responded to Mrs. Sinclair, "Yes, but I’ll be sleeping soon; I just felt a bit thirsty, so I came down to get some water."
"Dad, Mom, you both should rest early; I’m going upstairs to sleep now." After saying that, Quinn Lockwood nodded to them, then turned to head upstairs.
Feeling as if she had been thrown into a bottomless cold pool.
Also feeling as though she had plummeted down a towering cliff.
So this is how she stands in Mrs. Sinclair’s mind? Even with my determination to take over the company, am I still worried about dragging down The Lowell?
So she... is ultimately not as good as Melody Shepherd?
