CHAPTER 458: CHAPTER 458: DIFFICULT SITUATION

Mrs. Sinclair’s heart pounded wildly from shock as she pushed away Melody Shepherd’s hand, unable to believe what she was seeing with those damning photos.

"What do you mean by what you just said, and where did those photos come from?" Mrs. Sinclair was still trying her best to stay rational.

She knew that in the entertainment industry, incidents of staged photos or slander were common. Even though she had heard rumors about Savannah Lowell’s promiscuity, Mrs. Sinclair had always dismissed them as mere gossip.

"What do you mean? You’ve seen it all, haven’t you? These photos were obtained from journalists at major news outlets." The blackmailer spread the photos out, examining each one as if admiring them.

He turned the photos towards Mrs. Sinclair, sneered derisively, and said, "This person is Jonah Hansen, the general manager of Lockwood Group. Some paparazzi caught him and Quinn Lockwood entering a five-star hotel. They reportedly stayed inside for several hours together."

"And then there’s this: Dylan Quinn, a popular idol actor with whom Savannah Lowell has collaborated in numerous TV dramas and films. They’ve been known to meet secretly off the set, and the entertainment industry initially assumed they were in a romantic relationship."

"There’s also Ethan, an internationally renowned master photographer. Apparently, he got involved with Quinn Lockwood the first day after a shoot."

"And Cameron Grant, although technically a member of the Lowell Family, everyone knows these two aren’t blood siblings. The Lowell Group has been managed by Young Master Grant for many years, who knows what might be going on..."

The blackmailer showed each photo to Mrs. Sinclair and eagerly recounted stories of Quinn Lockwood’s affairs with each ’male lead’ depicted.

"Enough, just because of a few photos, don’t make false accusations, or don’t blame me for suing you for slander." Before the blackmailer could finish speaking, Melody Shepherd interrupted angrily.

"Mr. Grant is Miss Lowell’s brother; they’ve lived together for nearly twenty years, and a close relationship is perfectly normal!"

"Normal? Have you ever seen a married woman who still hugs her brother for no reason?" The blackmailer remained unfazed by Melody Shepherd’s rebuke, not even lowering the photos he was holding.

"Only you brainless fans keep arguing; the evidence is right here, and you still won’t admit it."

"I’ve got to go; I need to rush to publish these photos. I won’t waste any more time with you." The blackmailer cast a meaningful look at Melody Shepherd and Mrs. Sinclair as if declaring how naive they were.

He stuffed the photos into a torn brown paper bag and turned to leave the mall without looking back.

"Auntie, I’ll call someone right away to catch him; I absolutely won’t let these photos leak out." Melody Shepherd quickly took out her phone, appearing extremely anxious about Quinn Lockwood’s predicament.

Mrs. Sinclair’s face was terrifyingly dark at this moment, reminding Melody Shepherd of Elias Sinclair when he was angry.

"No need." Mrs. Sinclair glanced in the direction the blackmailer had left, her usually elegant face turned completely cold, radiating a frigid aura that sent shivers down the spine.

"Maya, let’s not shop today." With that, Mrs. Sinclair turned and headed straight for the door, the air around her turning chilly within a few meters.

"Auntie, Miss Lowell isn’t that kind of person; although she has many collaborators and often works late into the night, it’s all because of her work." Melody Shepherd followed Mrs. Sinclair and raised her hand to hold her arm but decided against it after a moment’s thought.

"Work? I think she’s using work as an excuse to mingle with others outside!"

"Stop defending her; I’m aware of these matters." Mrs. Sinclair’s pace quickened, and her tone revealed an increasingly uncontainable anger.

Melody Shepherd pressed her lips together but eventually swallowed the words she hadn’t spoken.

It was already enough; she didn’t need to say more.

Saying any more would be counterproductive and might even arouse Mrs. Sinclair’s suspicion.

Melody Shepherd chose not to return to The Sinclair Residence with Mrs. Sinclair but left after seeing her into the car.

The blackmailer performed very well; she had to hand over the promised reward to him.

Back at The Sinclair Residence, Mrs. Sinclair remained grim-faced. When Quinn Lockwood returned home in the evening, she found Mrs. Sinclair sitting expressionless on the living room sofa.

"Look at the time you’re coming back; don’t you know Elias came home early today?" Mrs. Sinclair slammed the teacup on the table, clearly expressing her extreme displeasure towards Quinn Lockwood.

"Mom, I was dealing with matters at the studio..." Quinn Lockwood trembled from the sudden reprimand from Mrs. Sinclair.

Although unsure why Mrs. Sinclair was upset with her, Quinn Lockwood still respectfully tried to explain in a low voice.

She hadn’t finished her sentence before Mrs. Sinclair interrupted her impatiently.

"Enough, always using these things as excuses. Not to mention all the scandals celebrities get into, you’re hardly adept at managing the company, spending your days idling around."

"The kitchen has just received a batch of groceries, and all the servants are off work now. I know you’re familiar with kitchen affairs, so go tidy up over there first." Mrs. Sinclair waved, glancing at Quinn Lockwood before shifting her gaze towards the kitchen.

Quinn Lockwood was taken aback, unable to grasp what was happening; she was criticized the moment she entered the house and now ordered to clean the kitchen.

What happened today? She hadn’t even seen her mother-in-law all day.

"Alright, I’ll go change my clothes and be right down." Quinn Lockwood nodded politely to Mrs. Sinclair, although deeply puzzled, she showed basic respect.

"Go to the kitchen now; if you dawdle any longer, Elias will be resting soon. Do you plan to wake him up after cleaning?" Before Quinn Lockwood could take a step, Mrs. Sinclair’s displeased voice rang out again.

With arms crossed, Mrs. Sinclair glanced at the clock again, then fixed her gaze on Quinn Lockwood.

That face reminded Mrs. Sinclair of today’s photos every time she saw it.

The beautiful face that smiled like a flower towards different men, embracing or shoulder to shoulder. Every image reminded Mrs. Sinclair how this young lady from an old family friend had humiliated her family, almost two years into her marriage.

No wonder her son was so fond of her, yet there had never been any sign of pregnancy.

It seemed she feared bearing The Sinclair’s child, knowing it would prevent her from running around with those men!
