Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 463: Lockwood Group Crisis
CHAPTER 463: CHAPTER 463: LOCKWOOD GROUP CRISIS
Elias Sinclair’s expression instantly turned icy upon hearing the words, and he immediately slammed on the brakes.
"Savannah Lowell, please know your place."
"Don’t you realize that you are my wife, Savannah Lowell? Why do you always push me away to others!"
"What exactly do you want to do?" Elias Sinclair leaned closer to Quinn Lockwood, his sharp gaze landing on her face, as if trying to uncover some long-hidden scheme.
Listening to Elias Sinclair’s suspicion-filled questioning, Quinn Lockwood couldn’t help but smile bitterly, a hint of desolation in her eyes: "What do I want to do?"
"Shouldn’t I be the one asking you what you want to do?"
"Isn’t Melody Shepherd the pure first love you’ve always yearned for? Am I wrong for helping you two be together?"
Quinn Lockwood’s elegant and gorgeous face turned completely cold at this moment, her gaze toward Elias Sinclair gradually growing indifferent and distant.
She is indeed Elias Sinclair’s wife, but perhaps not for long!
Upon hearing her words, the man’s expression became even more intimidatingly harsh. His lips parted slightly as if about to say something, but were interrupted by the buzzing of a phone.
"What’s the matter?" Elias Sinclair’s brows furrowed into a deep crease, his tone extremely displeased as he answered the call.
"Elias, where are you? Aunt Sinclair has fallen ill, and Angus is already on his way back from the base.
"You didn’t return home last night, just said you went out to find Miss Lowell. Aunt hasn’t stopped mentioning you since she woke up today." Melody Shepherd’s anxious and worried voice came from the other end of the line.
Due to being in the car, Elias Sinclair took the call through the Bluetooth speaker, allowing Quinn Lockwood to clearly hear Melody Shepherd’s words.
"What’s happened?" Upon hearing this, a trace of concern flashed across Elias’s cold face, his voice slightly rushed.
"You should hurry back, Aunt felt dizzy when she went downstairs this morning. I don’t know the specifics."
"Okay, got it." Elias Sinclair’s eyes flickered unnaturally, then he hung up the phone.
He knew that his mother had always been healthy, and such sudden dizziness was extremely unlikely.
Thinking about the recent closeness between Melody Shepherd and his mother, along with his mother’s unusual attitude toward Quinn Lockwood, Elias’s already tense eyes became even darker.
"Anyway, you should hurry back."
"Let me know if anything happens with mom... I have to go to the film set now." Quinn Lockwood bit her lip, her hand resting on her leg gripping slightly harder.
She had heard Melody Shepherd’s words and was aware that Elias Sinclair had been looking for her all night.
She thought he didn’t care about her at all, thinking Elias Sinclair had come to the Lowell Family to question her just because she had left the Sinclair Residence without notice.
So, does he care about her?
Quinn Lockwood raised her eyes slightly to look at the man in front of her; she hadn’t really looked at Elias Sinclair carefully just now.
Indeed... the man’s eyes definitely showed traces of undeniable fatigue.
Seeing the red veins in his eyes, Quinn Lockwood suddenly felt a sort of bitterness in her heart, alongside an indescribable complexity that enveloped her.
It wasn’t a kind of bitterness that was unpleasant, but a warm feeling like sunlight, only vaguely hidden and not so apparent.
"I’ll take you to the film set first." Elias Sinclair lowered his gaze, seemingly capturing for a moment the emotion in Quinn Lockwood’s eyes.
But the feeling shifted too quickly for him to precisely capture.
After dropping Quinn Lockwood at the film set entrance, Elias Sinclair returned to the Sinclair Residence, while Quinn Lockwood spent the next half hour preparing her makeup.
Fortunately, Cameron Grant had called the set to explain Quinn Lockwood’s busy night at the Group, preventing any dissatisfaction or complaints of her acting like a diva.
Before the preparation for filming was complete, Quinn Lockwood received a text message from Elias Sinclair, indicating that his mother was no longer in serious condition, just overly worried and not resting well, telling her not to worry.
"Ha, just handling a minor glitch and Miss Lowell is busy all night?" Ariana Lynch sneered disdainfully as she walked into the makeup room upon hearing the crew talk about Quinn Lockwood’s tardiness.
Lately, she’s been busy fighting over the company shares and hasn’t had time to pay attention to this lowlife.
"Ariana’s got time to drop by the set today." Quinn Lockwood glanced at Ariana Lynch, noting her proud and haughty attitude, and couldn’t help but tense her brows.
No matter how many days passed without seeing her, she always appeared so repulsive.
Although Ariana is the lead actress in this fantasy IP drama, she had not been to the set for more than a month now.
Besides being scared into hospitalization by Quinn Lockwood before, she had been absent for another half month, barely appearing in front of the public.
"Yes, but this is just recently, soon it’ll be hard to find the time."
Ariana Lynch swayed her hips as she approached Quinn Lockwood, raising her head like a victor, looking down and saying slowly, "Because I’m about to inherit the Lockwood Group."
"What?" For an instant, Quinn Lockwood felt her mind explode, suddenly standing up, staring incredulously at Ariana Lynch.
She’s inheriting the Lockwood Group? Why hadn’t she heard anything about it!
Seeing Quinn Lockwood’s shocked expression, Ariana Lynch’s smile deepened.
She covered her nose slightly to make her smile seem less brash, then pulled out the chair beside Quinn Lockwood and sat elegantly.
"Why the surprised look? I’m naturally the sole heir of the Lockwood Group."
"Or do you think, as a fellow young lady, I’m becoming the CEO so young, while you remain a puppet under your talented brother’s protection."
"Hmm... pity indeed." Saying that, Ariana Lynch sighed regretfully, her gaze toward Quinn Lockwood becoming increasingly sympathetic, like a high-ranking royal looking disdainfully at a lower servant.
Seeing Quinn Lockwood not snapping back like before, Ariana Lynch thought she had hit a nerve, and her tone became even more smug.
"I suppose Mr. Grant never intended to relinquish control of the company."
"After all, Cloudfall Group has been managed by Mr. Grant for years, and many shareholders and partners are his people. Even if you wish to inherit the company, it’s tough to shake his current position."
