CHAPTER 59: CHAPTER 59: SOMETHING DIFFERENT

"President Sinclair, I’ll go with you." Just as Elias Sinclair was about to reach the door, Joyce Kramer immediately followed him.

She wanted to see if Quinn Lockwood truly was as Elias described, and if she had really changed.

Elias nodded, thinking it wouldn’t hurt for Joyce to gain some deeper understanding of the project. He didn’t think much of it.

The film crew.

Quinn Lockwood had brought in a lot of snacks again, as usual, they were immediately snatched up.

Dylan Quinn walked over to Quinn with a sullen face, looking at her angrily.

"What are you doing?" Quinn Lockwood asked, amused but not understanding.

"Replace my snacks," Dylan said, in a tone that was fierce but had a hint of playfulness.

He didn’t really like to eat, but these days he had been waiting daily for Quinn’s snacks. When he arrived today, he found they were already gone, leaving him a bit angry.

"Replace them? Those were my snacks, you know."

As Quinn packed up the lunchbox, she responded, helplessly.

This guy, since when did he learn to accuse others first?

"But I didn’t get a single bite, so you owe me."

Dylan’s reasoning almost convinced Quinn, but she quickly snapped out of it.

"Who told you to come late? You can’t just blame me." Even though she’d gotten closer to the crew these days, they couldn’t just push things her way unfairly. Quinn shrugged to indicate it wasn’t her problem.

"Of course it relates to you. You know I wait for your snacks every day. I know you definitely saved me a portion, so hand it over."

Dylan laughed while stretching out his hand. As they got more familiar, joking occasionally to lighten the mood wasn’t bad.

"Alright, stop it, there’s really none." Dylan said and started to check the lunchbox, which made Quinn immediately laugh, dodge, and run away.

"Don’t run, you must have hidden them."

Seeing that, Dylan laughed and chased after her, while the entire crew watched them playfully with smiles all over their faces.

At some point, the atmosphere among the crew had warmed up, quite possibly driven largely by Quinn.

"Don’t run. Give me back my snacks..."

Elias Sinclair and Joyce Kramer were just arriving at the set and were drawn over by the sounds of laughter, unexpectedly catching the sight of Quinn and Dylan playfully chasing each other.

Elias watched Quinn laugh so happily, and couldn’t help but frown slightly, his gaze darkening bit by bit.

Quinn’s demeanor completely surprised Joyce; she couldn’t help but remark, "President Sinclair, Miss Lowell seems really different."

In her impression, Savannah Lowell always looked down on the crew, and there was no way she would jokingly play with them.

The scene before her was genuinely unbelievable, no wonder Elias had said such things earlier today.

"Hmm."

Elias responded softly, though an indescribable feeling stirred within him.

To prevent Joyce from noticing the slight change in his demeanor, Elias turned to check the props on the other side.

Props in the crew are crucial, as any carelessness could harm the actors.

"Ouch~"

Just as Elias was immersing himself in the prop master’s explanation, something hard suddenly bumped into his back.

He turned to see Quinn rubbing her forehead in pain, with an inexplicable urge to mock her, though he showed nothing, merely frowning slightly to mask it.

Quinn awkwardly looked at Elias and Joyce, wondering why she had to bump into him of all people. She turned back to glare ferociously at Dylan; if it weren’t for him chasing so closely, she wouldn’t have hit anyone.

"President Sinclair, sorry for the alarm."

Dylan, catching Quinn’s glare, immediately apologized on her behalf to Elias Sinclair, not wanting to offend Elias and miss out on delicious snacks in the future.

Hearing this, Elias paused, contemplating their earlier playful interaction, experiencing an unusual feeling in his heart, and without addressing it, he turned and left.

Watching Elias’s retreating back, Quinn couldn’t help but purse her lips; dangerous people were indeed dangerous.

After the earlier incident, both Dylan and Quinn stopped messing around, knowing full well not to cross the investors.

"What’s wrong with you, can’t you act properly?"

A loud and angry voice came from the director, causing everyone to gather around, with Quinn curiously following suit.

It turned out the director was reprimanding a young actor, despite the actor not having a significant role in the script, making it perplexing to see the director so furious.

"What happened?" Seeing the young actor looking so aggrieved, Quinn couldn’t help but ask those nearby.

"Oh, he was supposed to have two lines in the scene, but while filming, he inexplicably said three. Everyone else performed perfectly in one take, but his extra line ruined it, and the director is fuming."

The nearby actor patiently explained to Quinn, sympathy written all over their face.

As actors, they could naturally empathize with the humiliation of being scolded publicly by a director.

"Can you explain yourself? Adding lines on your own is an actor’s worst offense. If this gets out, what crew would dare hire you in the future?"

The director continued his angry questioning.

"I really don’t know what happened. I followed the script. No matter how much I want to act, I have principles. I wouldn’t just add lines." The young actor being scolded looked utterly wronged, tears welling up in their eyes.

Hearing this, Quinn frowned. How could this be? Every actor in the crew worked diligently. Forget having lines, even extras without lines wouldn’t add anything on their own.

Moreover, she knew the actor being scolded, having previously complimented her on her snacks.

There must be some misunderstanding. Quinn quickly pulled out her own script, flipping to the scene the actor was being reprimanded for.

Quinn’s script was for the lead, so if there weren’t scenes involving young actors, it wasn’t detailed.

"Excuse me, may I see your script..."

So, Quinn quietly greeted the surrounding actors, flipping through the lines of the scene in question, discovering that each person’s script had different amounts of lines for the reprimanded actor—some had two lines, others three.

Quinn’s eyes immediately lit up, smiling as she parted the crowd to approach the director, holding up the script in her hand.

"Director, he didn’t add lines on his own."

Upon hearing this, everyone turned their gaze on Quinn Lockwood, including Elias Sinclair from a short distance away, watching her intently.

"Director, look, in this scene his lines vary in different scripts. Some have two lines, others have three. I believe it’s not his fault; it might be an error in printing."
