CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: NO GOING BACK

"I won’t. Are you planning to take her back to The Sinclair Family?"

Freya Caldwell, stubborn as ever, still stood in the way.

Elias Sinclair instinctively glanced around. Fortunately, everyone was engrossed in their own tasks and no one noticed this conversation.

If Freya’s words had been overheard, the media would have had a field day with it.

Faced with this girl who was the same age as his sister, Elias had little patience.

Ignoring any sense of chivalry, Elias walked away coldly from Freya and headed to the dressing room to find Quinn Lockwood.

Freya stomped her foot in frustration and secretly followed him.

The dressing room.

Quinn Lockwood had changed her clothes and was sitting in front of the vanity, touching up her makeup. Due to the director’s rush outside, many actors needed last-minute touch-ups, so the makeup artists had left. Now, only Quinn was there.

The moment she saw Elias Sinclair in the reflection of the mirror, Quinn was clearly startled.

"Ah, you walk without a sound," she patted her chest and took a deep breath.

"Not bad."

Elias looked Quinn up and down, noticing her clothes looked quite nice today, quite unlike her usual style.

Upon hearing this, Quinn immediately covered her chest with her hands, "What are you doing here?"

Entering the cast’s dressing room without a word and eyeing her so strangely, Quinn couldn’t help but feel that this man was being overly audacious.

"Grandpa asked me to take you home."

Only then did Elias remember his purpose for being there, speaking nonchalantly and deliberately stressing the word "Grandpa" to show he had no choice in the matter, lest Quinn misunderstand his intentions.

"Grandpa’s back?"

Hearing about Grandpa Sinclair, Quinn’s eyes lit up instantly but then dimmed just as quickly.

When Quinn left The Sinclair Family, Grandpa wasn’t around, and she hadn’t properly bid him farewell. Grandpa adored her so much, Quinn genuinely felt a little guilty about it.

"Mm," Elias responded indifferently.

"Please tell Grandpa I’m sorry, and I’ll definitely go visit and apologize another day," Quinn said, lowering her head in guilt.

Hearing this, Elias was a bit puzzled, wondering what she meant.

"Grandpa wants me to take you back to The Sinclair Family," Elias repeated, agitatedly clarifying once more.

"I’m really sorry about Grandpa, but regarding the past people and events, I have moved on and won’t be going back," Quinn said decisively without any hesitation.

Elias frowned, looking at Quinn in disbelief. He initially thought it was a tactic of feigned reluctance, but he didn’t expect her to refuse.

At some point, she seemed to have changed as a person. Did she really not want to go back, or was she still waiting for a bigger opportunity?

Listening from outside, Freya Caldwell almost cried out in excitement, quickly covering her mouth with her hand.

It seemed her earlier warning to Quinn had worked. She knew this woman could never outmatch her.

Freya sneered and left, not wanting to waste any more time there.

Seeing Elias say nothing more, Quinn felt she had made herself clear enough, so she left his side directly, needing to go outside and run lines with the actors, allowing the director to provide guidance, essentially a mini-rehearsal.

After exiting the dressing room, Quinn headed to the canopy to flip through her script. Dylan Quinn approached, blocking her path.

"What are you doing?" Quinn asked, puzzled.

Dylan didn’t speak, just looked at Quinn with a radiant smile.

Quinn thought he was joking again and prepared to leave, but no matter where she went, Dylan deliberately blocked her way.

"What exactly do you want?" Helpless, Quinn stopped and rolled her eyes, asking.

"Guess."

"I have to go over the script, I don’t have time."

Although she was now enlivening the whole cast’s atmosphere, she really didn’t have the mood to joke around with him.

"Alright, alright, this is for you." Seeing Quinn about to get mad, Dylan quickly took out a gift from behind his back.

"What’s this?" Quinn took it instinctively, curious as she pulled it out of the bag.

It was a wooden carved doll. Though she couldn’t quite decipher the patterns, it was intricate and extremely cute.

"It’s for you. You can study it yourself."

Dylan said with a meaningful smile and then left, perhaps feeling a little bashful.

Quinn raised an eyebrow. Why give her something for no reason? But then, she thought perhaps it was Dylan’s way of bribing her for some of her delicious snacks.

When Elias Sinclair came out, he happened to see this scene, and couldn’t help but sneer, walking over to tease, "Quite the strategy."

Hearing the voice, Quinn looked up and saw Elias’s disdainful face, feeling a bit displeased, "I don’t understand."

Did he misunderstand something between her and Dylan?

Though there was no need to explain to him, Quinn didn’t want to be misunderstood like that.

Elias chuckled without a word. Seeing Quinn’s feigned ignorance made him feel she was pretending. This was such an obvious matter that he didn’t want to say more. No wonder she didn’t want to go back with him; it was because of Dylan.

Maybe he should have told Grandpa earlier about the past rumors between her and Dylan, saving Grandpa from worrying so much over her.

"There’s nothing between Dylan and me." Just as Elias was about to leave, Quinn couldn’t help but defend herself. She had a clear conscience and didn’t want Elias to look down on her.

Upon hearing, Elias paused, momentarily at a loss.

The previous Savannah Lowell would have eagerly discussed other men before him to make him jealous. Now she actually explained to him that there was nothing between her and another man.

She wasn’t trying to please him but was clearly telling him she no longer cared about his opinion.

"That’s for the best," Elias coldly flung out the words before leaving, feeling inexplicably stifled. Facing Quinn’s attitude still left him somewhat uncomfortable.

Once, he longed to hear such non-entangled words from Quinn. Now, why was there a faint sense of bitterness in his heart?

Quinn Lockwood’s drama "Misty Rain" began airing. The show was shooting as it aired, and with her acting skills becoming more adept, coupled with previous news about her near-drowning scenes and beatings, she garnered much attention.

Gradually, people noticed she was no longer arrogant and aloof, but had learned to respect those around her and even stood up for her castmates.

Suddenly, public opinion of Quinn on the internet improved, slowly gaining her recognition.

Early in the morning, Quinn packed her things and left the house with homemade snacks.
