Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me!
Chapter 63: Sit in the Front
CHAPTER 63: CHAPTER 63: SIT IN THE FRONT
The one thing she didn’t expect was that Elias Sinclair would be so considerate, coming to accompany the lonely Mr. Sherman. How did she not see him as that kind of person before?
"Ahem, ahem."
Elias felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at by Quinn Lockwood, awkwardly coughed twice, and averted his gaze.
"Madam, lunch is ready."
At this moment, a servant came over to remind them.
Wendy Sherman glanced at her watch and realized it was already noon. She quickly invited Elias and Quinn, "I got so caught up in chatting, I didn’t realize it was mealtime. Since it’s rare to have company today, neither of you can leave. You both have to stay and eat with me."
When it was time to sit down, Wendy insisted on having Quinn and Elias sit together. Quinn, feeling awkward, quickly refused, "No need, no need, I’d be better sitting over there."
As she was about to stand up, Elias silently used his foot to block the chair, trapping Quinn in place.
Huh, what’s going on?
She looked down in confusion, but didn’t find anything amiss as Elias had already withdrawn his foot.
Yet every time Quinn tried to get up, Elias would nonchalantly stretch his foot over to stop her.
This left Quinn puzzled.
Strange, the more Quinn thought about it, the more it didn’t seem right. She had no idea that some man was enjoying himself at her expense.
"Alright then, since that’s the case, just sit there," Wendy chuckled, seeing that Quinn had been fidgeting without leaving her seat.
Helplessly, Quinn waved her hand in resignation, as if there was no other option now.
"Elias, when you have time, you and Savannah should visit me more often." Wendy never liked following entertainment news, and when she did hear about something, it was usually from gossipy servants.
Just like this time, learning about Quinn’s new show’s response, she really didn’t know about the previous gossip between Savannah Lowell and Elias Sinclair.
However, what she said was purely unintentional, just wanting them to visit her more without realizing she hit the nail on the head.
Upon hearing this, Quinn frowned self-consciously. Did even Mr. Sherman know about their relationship?
Still, given Elias’s indifferent attitude towards her, he naturally wouldn’t acknowledge it. He couldn’t wait to clear their relationship, so there was nothing to worry about.
"Okay," Elias replied blandly, as if it were something that should have already been done.
Quinn never thought Elias would agree so readily, so she couldn’t help but turn to give him a look.
What exactly are you up to?
Elias glanced over and then casually continued peeling the shrimp on his plate, deliberately provoking her.
Quinn maintained a scowl and rolled her eyes throughout.
After the meal, it was getting late. Quinn checked the time and realized she should be heading back. Without saying goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Lowell, they would surely worry.
"Mr. Sherman, I think I should be going," Quinn said, casually picking up her bag, not even glancing at Elias.
At the same time, Elias was also preparing to leave, "Aunt Sherman, I still have some work at the company. I’ll visit again another day."
The two of them were both putting on their shoes, ready to leave.
Seeing this, Wendy, knowing Elias had driven, wasn’t concerned, and she asked Quinn, "Savannah, did you drive here yourself?"
"No, my car is easy for paparazzi to spot, so I took a cab." Quinn, putting on her shoes at the entrance, looked up and replied honestly.
"Then how do you plan to get back?"
Wendy was a bit worried. Her home was in a secluded villa district, hardly frequented by anyone except the residents, which made it hard to catch a cab here.
"You don’t have to worry. I’ll just call a cab to go back," Quinn said calmly, having never considered the possibility of not being able to get back.
Seeing this, Wendy sighed, knowing she wasn’t familiar with the area, and unwittingly glanced at Elias, who hadn’t left yet, her eyes brightening.
"Ah, this works out well. Elias is also leaving for the company now; let him give you a ride."
Quinn frowned at this, almost immediately refusing without a second thought, "No need."
She never believed Elias would be so kind; he’d most likely laugh at her.
However, Wendy thought she was just embarrassed to trouble others and continued, "Elias, can you? It’s hard to get a cab around here, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting Savannah go home alone."
Knowing that Quinn was strong-willed, Wendy didn’t press further and directly asked Elias for his opinion.
"Sure."
Elias casually agreed without any complex emotions, probably out of respect for Wendy, and he did want to ask her something.
Quinn didn’t expect Elias to agree so readily, but upon hearing it was hard to get a cab here, she could only grudgingly go along.
After saying goodbye to Wendy, Quinn got into Elias’s car, without hesitation, settling into the back seat.
"Sit in the front." Elias remained in the driver’s seat without starting the car, glaring at Quinn through the mirror.
"No need, I think it’s fine here." Quinn refused without hesitation, her gaze directed out the window.
She had always said they’d keep to themselves, and she meant it!
Moreover, today Elias probably had a lapse of clarity, not only agreeing to drive her home but also asking her to sit in the front seat.
"Don’t make me repeat myself." Elias said impatiently, tapping the dashboard with his finger.
This woman used to always insist on sitting in the front seat, but he had never allowed her in his car, let alone the front seat.
Now, offering her this chance, what on earth was she stubbornly insisting on? It was hard to figure out.
Despite his stern tone, Quinn didn’t want to upset him, especially since she was under his roof. She didn’t want to risk not getting home and ending up on the streets, so she reluctantly compromised and moved to the front seat.
"I asked you to sit in front because Grandpa wanted me to give you a message."
As soon as Quinn switched seats, Elias couldn’t wait to explain, implying that Quinn shouldn’t overthink it.
He was merely following Grandpa Sinclair’s instructions, wanting to focus on driving without distractions. It was just more convenient to read Quinn’s emotions from the front seat.
The last time she said she didn’t want to return to The Sinclair Family, was she really not wanting to go back, or was it just an act?
"What message?" Quinn asked, staring straight ahead, internally calm.
She hadn’t misunderstood anything. If not for Grandpa’s sake, she wouldn’t speak to Elias at all. She didn’t want some people to misinterpret things.
"Grandpa still wants you to come back," Elias said seriously.
After Elias conveyed Quinn’s sentiments the last time they visited, Grandpa Sinclair was very upset, thinking his grandson’s attitude wasn’t sincere enough, insisting he bring Quinn back.
"Please tell Grandpa that I won’t go back again, no matter who tries to persuade me. But I’ll visit him when I have time."
Quinn said expressionlessly.
Though her attitude seemed cold, she still held deep respect for Grandpa Sinclair in her heart.
