Chapter 389: Chapter 164 Free Moving

“So, what are you going to do to her?”

Unaffected by Grey Mist’s words, Star repeated the question.

“Are you concerned about her? Or have you finally become curious about that prophecy?”

Looking at Star oddly, Grey Mist slowly walked over to Anvis, his voice slightly feverish.

“If she indeed is the ‘Star’ from the prophecy, then she will be an unprecedented valuable Prophetic material!

With the intangible yet undeniable Star’s Destiny as the primary material, it’s enough to create an artifact not inferior to those of beyond the highest level, capable of confronting the Stargazer on the Net of Destiny!”

“Moreover, thanks to that legendary Resistance Organization, the Truth Circle, my beloved teacher received devastating injuries that cannot be recovered from, and he had to retreat to heal.

In the next fifty years, the deep nodes of the Continent Destiny Net will finally face a true vacuum period. The threshold to become a Ninth Rank Prophet has already opened before us.

I have a premonition that the moment I successfully refine this Destiny Artifact will also be when I formally break through to Ninth Rank Prophet.”

Without avoiding Anvis who was nearby, Grey Mist appeared to be in a very good mood, and was quite willing to explain in response to Star’s question.

“Of course, what I need to do first, naturally, is to verify whether she really is the so-called ‘Crystal Bird Star’.

If she is, then I will slowly strip away the Star’s Destiny from her. If not, then as a Child of Destiny and especially coming from the Olivendi Family, she will have other uses for our organization.”

“Any other questions? If not, I’m about to begin the experiment.”

After the explanation, Grey Mist’s tone changed abruptly, issuing an order for Star to leave.

Then, he drew a drop of blood from Anvis. It was unclear what he did, but threads of pale grey mist began to constantly emanate from the drop of blood, gradually forming an unusual Array pattern.

Watching the motions of Grey Mist and Anvis with her eyes closed, Star suddenly became a bit absentminded.

How alike…

Shaking her head, Star no longer lingered and turned to leave the base.

Unfortunately…you are not him.

.….….

Elsewhere, carried by the Secret Silver Magic Statue, Anvis watched the changing view of the outside world through a ‘mirror’ in the page of a book and, along with rings and other miscellaneous items, was placed into a secret chamber.

Initially hearing Grey Mist say he would take his personal belongings, Anvis was somewhat nervous.

But as soon as he heard they would be put into the Secret Vault, he stopped thinking of resisting.

Leaving a copy of himself there for appearance’s sake, Anvis watched the Secret Silver Magic Statue carry the ring and Ancient Secret Scripture among other items through a metal conduit exclusive to statues, eventually arriving in front of a thick metal secret door.

The door was also enveloped in a thin layer of grey mist, with no keyhole, only a strange Array that seemed designed to confirm the entrant’s permission.

However, the Secret Silver Magic Statue didn’t need such a complex confirmation process; it simply approached the door and, like a liquid with the items, fused into the door, and then emerged from the other side.

Inside the Secret Vault, numerous specially made display cabinets were scattered around, each equipped with its own protective and Warning Arrays. Even if a thief were to infiltrate the storage room, they would find it impossible to commit theft.

Most of the display cabinets were already filled with items, with only a few empty ones left.

Approaching one of the vacant spots, the Mithril Magic Statue’s eyes flashed with a detection beam, which then turned blue.

It then placed the items it carried into the cabinet and closed it, as the protective system automatically activated.

After confirming that the array was operating normally, it turned and left without hesitation, and the quiet of the secret vault was restored once again.

Minutes later, this silence was broken again.

Wrapped in a pitch-black cloak, Anvis appeared here noiselessly.

The moment he appeared, Anvis could feel at least two different types of detection waves sweep over his body, but they were blocked by the cloak he wore.

Growing increasingly satisfied with the mysterious cloak he had found in the Power Dragon Treasure Vault, Anvis began to hover, controlling his movement through the vault with spiritual power to avoid making any sounds.

The detection waves he had just felt included a component for sound.

Glancing briefly around the secret vault, Anvis checked on the situation with his alter ego and found that the strange ritual array composed of his duplicate’s blood was becoming ever more perfect.

Based on the current pace, it would be fully complete in no more than fifteen minutes.

Since he was uncertain what the Ritual Array was for, he had made a decision: to take action against the Grey Mist the moment before the array took shape.

But before that, it was naturally time to loot.

The displays in the secret vault were of different grades, with a few Dark Gold display cabinets having a much stronger protective aura.

However, the protective aura of the numerous Grey and White display cabinets was much weaker.

Drifting towards a small section of Dark Gold display cabinets that felt the strongest, Anvis examined the protective force field before him and then passed through it as if it were nothing.

This was a special effect brought by his Force Field Control; upon breaking through to High Rank, his perfect ability to control force fields allowed him to move freely through any force field, just like a true Power creature.

Since the protective force field was not damaged, the Warning Array was not able to detect any abnormalities.

After entering the protective force field, Anvis could see through the transparent cover of the display cabinet in front of him, observing a delicate Golden Balance inside, with several Grey weights of different sizes on one side.

However, this display case also had a Secret Magic Lock surrounded by a faint Grey Mist, and Anvis could not ensure that he could remove the items inside without disturbing the mist.

With time pressing, he temporarily passed over the Dark Gold display cabinets, changing his target, and first aimed for those Grey and White cabinets. Planning to grab as much as possible from the Dark Gold cabinets when he was about to make his escape.

Unlike the Dark Gold display cabinets, those in Grey and White didn’t have the fog, perhaps because their value didn’t warrant that level of insurance.

Although there were arrays for monitoring the state of the items inside the cabinets, with Anvis’s current level of magical knowledge, these protective measures could not truly hinder him.

As his spiritual power swept over it, in one of the display cabinets before him, an irregular piece of metal speckled with color flashed and silently turned into a real Phantom crafted from Illusion Magic.

It was a piece of Rainbow Star Gold, born where the rainbow met the edge of the sky, categorized as a High-Rank magical material at the Eighth Rank Peak.

And like this, there were hundreds of Grey display cabinets in this secret vault, with even more of the lower-grade White cabinets.

Taking out a pre-prepared Space Expansion Box from a sealed page of the Ancient Secret Scripture, Anvis began to help the Grey Mist move for free.

Considering the possibility that his personal items might be confiscated if taken away by the enemy, he sealed all the key items in the Ancient Secret Scripture, without letting the Grey Mist discover them.
