Chapter 428: Chapter 203: How Does a Pigeon Call?

These two individuals…

Watching Brandy and Fiona enter with some suspicion, Anvis sensed again, and indeed that special feeling emanated from them.

A feeling of destiny, a Prophet?

From the respectful demeanor of the other two high-ranking members of the Starfire Organization towards them, it appeared that these two individuals, or rather, the one leading, shrouded in a cloak with a vague face, likely held a very high status within Starfire.

This preparation was to prevent unforeseen incidents, as currently, everyone was temporarily allied for mutual benefit. If someone from another organization was bribed and learned the true identities of many high-ranking individuals at once, it would lead to catastrophic consequences.

Although their faces were not clear, Anvis did indeed feel an extraordinary aura of destiny about these two individuals.

The high-ranking Spellcaster in front might be a Prophet, but the one behind must be the Child of Destiny, and one whose Destiny Power was in an explosive state.

It seemed that both individuals carried Mysterious Objects capable of concealing the threads of destiny, but the sensation of bursting Destiny Power could not be completely masked.

In other words, much like the central character in a hero’s biography, that feeling as if the whole world revolved around them was quite conspicuous in Anvis’s Perception.

However, what was strange was that Anvis felt a special sense of familiarity from the other party’s aura of destiny.

After carefully observing the two cloaked figures, Anvis temporarily averted his gaze to avoid any misunderstanding.

The subsequent meeting was just as boring as Anvis had anticipated.

The aggressive group led by the Radiant Sun proposed to allocate a number of individuals to manage the territories of the Gray Iron Kingdom, and then the rest could continue to expand externally, striving for each organization to control at least one small Kingdom.

The conservative faction led by ‘Starfire’ thought it would be wiser to play the long game. Strengthen the power of each organization first while fully assimilating the territory of the Gray Iron Kingdom before considering expansion.

Most of the time, Anvis listened quietly, only occasionally chiming in to show his agreement with the ideas of the aggressive faction and to demonstrate the stance of the Embers Organization.

The meeting lasted about one Magic Time, and when it ended, everyone dispersed and returned to their respective bases.

Upon leaving, due to the strange feeling he had experienced earlier, Anvis did not arrange for his clone to return, but after a slight disguise using Flesh Manipulation, he followed the two individuals from a distance.

However, during the tracking process, he realized that he seemed to have company.

“Hmm? It seems that I’m not the only one interested in them,” Anvis thought.

Perched on a treetop, Anvis, appearing much like an ordinary pigeon, twisted his head and surreptitiously glanced at a crow nearby.

This crow hosted a dark Will, seemingly under the control of some covert magic, also monitoring the two individuals from afar.

Yet within this distance, Anvis could perceive very clearly.

As to why he also transformed into a pigeon, it was probably an influence from other pigeons.

Without startling it, Anvis watched the two return to Starfire’s current stronghold, then switched to Destiny Vision to continue waiting until the girl emerged again.

Seeing the girl’s lake-blue eyes, as well as the way several Starfire members addressed her, Anvis instantly connected the earlier feeling of familiarity to its source.

It seemed to be one of his sisters…

But Fiona should currently be in the Family Secret Realm, how could the family’s Ninth Ranks possibly allow her to run out on her own?

Indeed, perhaps it was the Power of Destiny arranging some special encounters for her.

Upon reflection, Anvis suddenly had a bit of an epiphany.

The Children of Destiny also had levels, and among all the Children of Destiny he had come across so far, Fiona was of the highest Level, without a peer.

If he had not chosen to switch identities with the girl earlier and had instead allowed her to be taken away, then, like it is now, she would probably break free at a critical moment through some special encounters.

Twisting his head, Anvis glanced at the obviously malicious crow beside him and, after a moment’s thought, suddenly flapped his wings.

The crow’s head dropped off in an instant, the severed surface as smooth as a mirror.

Therefore, in an underground valley outside Dawn City, a figure who was focusing on Spellcasting suddenly felt a sharp pain in their mind, and one of the several images they had dimmed instantly.

After doing all this, Anvis flapped his wings and suddenly flew up, landing on the girl’s shoulder.

“Huh, is that a pigeon?”

Looking at the pigeon perched on her shoulder with a bit of surprise, Fiona instinctively slowed her pace, worried she might startle it.

“Aren’t you afraid of me?”

Composed, Anvis flapped his wings and locked eyes with the girl’s lake-blue orbs.

“I’ve heard that pigeons coo, can I hear you coo twice?”

Carefully reaching out a finger to touch the pigeon’s feathers, Fiona realized that it had no reaction to her gesture. She then became bolder, delightfully teasing it.

“If you want to know the whereabouts of your brother, come alone to the Duke’s suite on the top floor of Silver Maple Hotel tonight.”

“Remember, tell no one, especially not your teacher.”

Leaning into the girl’s ear, Anvis whispered.

“Uh…”

The girl who had wanted to say something blinked, dumbfounded.

Is this how pigeons talk?

….

At this moment, in the distant Royal Capital of the Silver Moon Kingdom, a solemn and tranquil hall, grand and temple-like, made of cloud-radiance stones, gathered a dozen silhouettes.

If one looked closely, one would find slight distortions in the air by their sides, emanating with the fluctuations of different Domain powers.

This scene signified that all attendees were of Ninth Rank and above!

Though everyone had arrived, no one spoke for a time, maintaining a repressive silence in the room.

“Lately, those Prophets have been causing quite a fuss, should we slap their wrists a bit?”

After a moment of silence, a Ninth Rank suddenly spoke up, breaking the nearly solidified atmosphere in the room.

“Hey, well said, so why not let the mighty Black Wing lead us by example? It would be good to witness your valor,” another Ninth Rank retorted with a sneer.

Without any need for these futile tests, Black Wing. We all know, the decades the Stargazer has been asleep are their only chance.

Anyone who makes a move during this time would be facing a relentless confrontation.”

Another person beside them shook their head.

Peak Eighth Rank Prophets don’t necessarily reflect their combat strength as merely Eighth Rank.

Prophet is but a Secondary Profession, after all. In some sense, for Prophets to break through the Ninth Rank’s ceiling is much more difficult than it is for other Professionals to level up through the Ninth Rank.

These Prophets stuck at the Peak of Eighth Rank have long since broken through the Ninth Rank on their main body, but their insufficient control over the Continent Destiny Net is what bars them from advancing further in their profession.

Because to break through, they must first overcome the Stargazer’s barrier.

Without advancing to the Ninth Rank, one cannot counter the Stargazer’s intervention. Unable to counter the Stargazer means no breakthrough to the Ninth Rank, a catch-22.

It’s not that these Prophets haven’t considered seeking external help, like teaming up with several Ninth Rank Limit powerhouses to forcefully destroy the Floating City and kill the Stargazer.

But the problem is, no one can match the Stargazer when it comes to leveraging and manipulating Destiny’s power.

In other words, before your plot even takes shape, the Stargazer is already aware of the causes and consequences, and may have already taken countermeasures.

It’s an unsolvable dilemma.

Were it not for Anvis previously breaking the deadlock with the staggering price of the Eternal Core, the Stargazer would have already had those overeager Prophets under tight control, and the current chaos in the Federation wouldn’t exist.

That’s why, with the Stargazer asleep, all high-level Prophets are going insane, afraid that the commotion they create isn’t making enough noise.

“Yes, they are indeed troublesome, but why are we here right now?”

Although his view was challenged, the Ninth Rank known as Black Wing wasn’t upset and posed a question in return.
