Ji Ying was infuriated upon hearing this. She had long stopped holding grudges over the past deeds of her mother-in-law. Now that they were living well, Ji Ying was even less likely to get upset over such trivial matters, but why should she speak against Nianhua?

What had Nianhua ever done to her?

"Ji Ying, these eggs, save them to nourish Nianhua and Zhuangzhuang. Our chickens lay so many eggs we can hardly finish them," Hu Aihong said, and then excusing herself due to a supposed emergency at home, left early.

"Besides, in this house, it’s only Grandpa Xu Zhong whom Dad should respect. As for her, she has nothing to do with me." Xu Nianhua had no good impression of Liu Sanmei at all.

As for Grandpa Xu Zhong, there had been times in the hardest days when he had at least been willing to help his parents discreetly. She felt that it was perfectly fine for her dad to honor Grandpa.
