Rebirth: Solely Cherished by the Devoted Commander
Chapter 468 - 495 It’s Almost New Year
CHAPTER 468: CHAPTER 495 IT’S ALMOST NEW YEAR
Although Sun Chan said these words with a smile, Gu Junming still sensed her helplessness and anger.
"Hmm, we won’t be here during the New Year. Even if she wants to cause trouble, she won’t find you. I think your parents understand in their hearts what to do. If they really disappoint you, just don’t interact with them. You’ve got me."
Sun Chan smiled and leaned against him. How could she not interact with her parents? She now craved family ties, but... it’s a bit complicated.
They decided to leave the matter at that; neither Sun Chan nor Gu Junming mentioned it again.
The next morning, after Sun Chan had breakfast, she went to the shop. Han Dong happened to be there, sitting with crossed legs and chatting idly with a pretty young shop assistant. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a snow-white cotton shirt underneath, and a tie. His hair was styled with gel, making it stand straight and giving him a very striking appearance. His leather shoes were polished to a shine.
The shop assistant’s eyes were sparkling, clearly very amused.
Seeing Sun Chan come in, Han Dong quickly greeted her, "You’re here? I’ve got something to discuss with you!"
The young shop assistant hurriedly went to attend to her duties.
"Alright." Sun Chan said with a smile, "I have something to show you too. Let’s go to my office."
"Sure, you have the demeanor of a boss now." Han Dong laughed as he followed Sun Chan into the room.
Sun Chan closed the door and gave Han Dong a glare, "That girl already has a fiancé. What if you end up causing her to break up? You’re so annoying."
"Hey, I just said a few words. Is it really enough to make someone break up? You think too highly of me," Han Dong said casually.
Sun Chan replied, "You always show off, trying to impress every pretty girl you see."
"Is this really how a branch manager should talk to the boss? Watch out, I might fire you," Han Dong said playfully, clearly not meaning it.
Sun Chan didn’t bother arguing with him and handed her sketches to Han Dong.
"With the New Year coming up, how about we offer a big giveaway: Buy a piece of clothing, get a free bag. Make sure the bags are different colors and highly practical; of course, they can be sold separately too. What do you think?"
Han Dong looked at them and smiled, "Not bad. I was actually thinking about discussing how to make some money before the New Year."
The New Year is the prime time for buying clothes; everyone wants to get some nice new clothes. Prices aren’t the main concern.
The two discussed it, deciding on giving away bags, offering discounts, and designing some spring outfits.
After finalizing the details, Han Dong gave some instructions and hurriedly left.
Sun Chan chuckled, "Every time you come, it’s like you’re being chased by ghosts, what’s the rush?"
"I’m busy, don’t be jealous."
Sun Chan thought to herself, you always have time to flirt with young girls.
At the door, Han Dong suddenly turned back and smiled, "Oh, I almost forgot something important."
"What is it?"
"Isn’t it New Year? Here’s your share of the earnings." Han Dong handed Sun Chan a thick envelope.
Sun Chan took it with a smile, "So much! It seems my shop didn’t make much money. I feel a bit embarrassed taking this."
"You!" Han Dong ruffled Sun Chan’s hair, "The clothes you designed are selling really well now. When meeting clients, showing your templates usually impresses everyone."
Indeed, even foreigners liked Sun Chan’s clothing designs, let alone the clients here.
So, even though the specialty shops weren’t making as much as imagined, her designs were money-makers in the factory.
Sun Chan received a bonus of two thousand bucks!
"So, what will you do with this money?"
Sun Chan thought for a moment and smiled, "I want to save it to buy a house!"
Han Dong looked at Sun Chan and laughed, "You really know how to manage! Alright, I’ll help you keep an eye out. If there’s a nice house, I’ll get it for you."
Sun Chan was delighted; owning a house had been her dream for two lifetimes. In her past life, when her husband bullied her, he pointed at her nose and told her to get out, which made Sun Chan very sad. Even just a straw house would have satisfied her.
As time passed after her reincarnation, her memories of those times faded, but she understood the despair and bitterness very well. She also knew that in a few years, this area would be developed. Housing prices would skyrocket every month. She’d heard of an old man in the city who had a piece of land; he wasn’t expecting to make money, just doing a small business. But during demolition, he received nearly ten million in compensation!
The old man had sons who never cared about him. After the compensation, he became a wealthy man, and they ended up fighting over the money, resulting in a tragic incident.
Sun Chan thought to herself, if she had money, she could buy houses and land.
"What are you thinking about standing there?" Han Dong asked curiously.
Sun Chan smiled and shared her thoughts, "If you have money, you could invest in some land here. The price will soon rise."
Han Dong laughed, "You really have a business mind. Not bad! But how did you find out about this? Did my brother tell you?"
"Hmm." Sun Chan smiled, "I heard about it from someone."
"Don’t worry, I’m already investing all the money I have into land and houses. You’re right, I believe the properties here will eventually make money. It’s better than keeping it in the bank." Han Dong chuckled, "I’m also planning to start a small construction company to gain some experience."
Sun Chan looked at Han Dong in surprise, impressed by his ambition and foresight in getting into the broader real estate business. Real estate is definitely lucrative!
Han Dong also mentioned some plans for the New Year holiday, "You’re not local, make sure the staff on duty are well arranged."
"Make sure to be back before the fifth day; I’ve decided to reopen on the sixth."
Sun Chan quickly agreed and saw him off.
Han Dong got into his car—it was newly bought. Though he wasn’t particularly invested in food, clothing, or drink, he was fond of cars. Over the past two years in business, he’d changed cars three times.
Sun Chan smiled and patted the car roof, "It’s really nice."
"Of course, it’s from abroad. Let Gu Junming teach you to drive and buy one for you!"
Sun Chan smiled and shook her head, feeling hesitant.
Han Dong sneered, "You’ve become a little boss but are afraid of driving? That’s not good. When I have time, I’ll teach you."
Sun Chan still felt uneasy and declined, but Han Dong started the car with a laugh, "That’s settled, then. Be bold, don’t always be afraid of trouble, I’m here."
Sun Chan could only wave him goodbye as he drove off. As he glanced back, he felt a bit melancholic. After this New Year, would it be time for her to have children, live happily as a mother?
