Sun Chan shyly nudged his leg under the table.

These two were quite happy, but Bai Fanglan was not so pleased.

Bai Fanglan forced a smile, "Congratulations to you both. When will we get to taste the wedding candy? Grandpa Gu will certainly be very happy if he knows."

Gu Junming understood what Bai Fanglan meant in her words.

Gu Zishan always hoped he would be with a woman who had a background. He wouldn’t agree to him marrying a village girl without support or even much literacy.

Gu Junming pulled Sun Chan and headed outside. At the doorway, he turned to Bai Fanglan and said, "I hope to tell them myself about this, to give them a surprise. Bai Fanglan nearly bit her lip till it bled, yet felt no pain. He doesn’t trust me, doesn’t trust me!

Sun Chan said, "Doctor Bai isn’t someone who meddles, she should have learned from the incident with my foster mother. Don’t worry."

Bai Fanglan was fuming, forcing a smile, "Don’t worry, I won’t say anything. It’s good news, you should tell them soon."

"You’re right, I’m about to take her back to the village to discuss the engagement. Goodbye." Gu Junming said and took Sun Chan away.

Bai Fanglan leaned back on the chair, her chopsticks nearly being squeezed to the point of breaking. If Wang Hu hadn’t been there, she might have lost it.

Wang Hu didn’t notice she hadn’t eaten all along, focusing on his own meal, then stood up saying, "Let’s go back, I need to return to the camp today."

"Okay." Bai Fanglan put down her chopsticks and walked out with him.

Wang Hu’s car was parked by the roadside. He got in by himself, and Bai Fanglan, holding back her anger, got in from the other side.

Along the way, neither said much. Wang Hu’s mind was occupied with Yan Kai and Gu Junming’s visit to Xiong’er Ridge.
