"Gu Junming! You wererades with Wang Hu, and this is how you treat me?"

"It’s not because of Wang Hu. My brother would have hit you long ago. How could he have tolerated you until today? Bai Fann, we’re all men and women should maintain distance from each other. You don’t n to be Pan Jinlian, so why are you so close to us? Isn’t Wang Hu enough for you? Stand aside!"

Everyone aroundughed, and Bai Fann was so angry that tears started streaming down her face. She red fiercely at Sun Chan.

Sun Chan looked at her calmly, pletely unfazed by her angry re: "Can’t outtalk others, so you re at me? Bully the weak but fear the strong? I don’t understand. If you dislike Gu Junming, why do you keep causing trouble for me?"

"I won’t waste my time bickering with you!" Bai Fann said, trembling with anger, and stormed off. As she walked away, she wiped her tears, thinking, all this humiliation was caused by them!

When she boarded the train, Bai Fann looked around, relieved that she wasn’t in the samepartment as them, but couldn’t stop crying. It was truly suffocating!

When did Gu Junming be an enemy to her? Her life was a mess, her marriage might not survive, while Sun Chan was getting better and better. A vige girl who didn’t graduate elementary school, a despicable woman who didn’t even clean behind her ears, acting so shamelessly!

Gu Junming showed utter indifference to her misfortune and distress! Bai Fann felt like crying whenever she thought of it.

On the ground-level shop was a man, in his twenties, somewhat good-looking, who approached Bai Fann when he saw her alone.

"Are you heading to Shenzhen too? We’ll be on the same journey."

Bai Fann didn’t bother responding and turned away to lie down. The man smiled, unbothered, knowing the journey was long. He’d take his time.

Sun Chan and the three others boarded the train, found their seats, andy down. Sun Chan had the lower bunk, Gu Junming was above, Han Dong and Yan Kai were across. As it was evening, they exchanged a few words and then started sleeping.

In a daze, Sun Chan felt her arm itch. Waking up, she saw a redness on her arm, probably because the bedding was damp. She sat up and ced a nket she brought over it.

Gu Junming peeked over, "What’s wrong?"

Sun Chan waved her hand, whispering, "I’m fine. Go back to sleep."

"Call me if you need anything."

Sun Chan nodded. Lying on the train, she felt an indescribable happiness. After being reborn for a year, despite being surrounded by bad people, there were more good ones. She would be alright.

The cabin was stuffy, fearing the food she brought would spoil, so Sun Chan divided it among them the next day, urging them to eat quickly. The four of them ate heartily, enjoying the pancakes filled with spicy pickles, which tasted great.

Sun Chan worked on her homework while Gu Junming helped solve a problem. If they couldn’t figure something out, they asked Yan Kai, who also studied well.

Han Dong wasn’t interested in studies and wandered around. Passing through Bai Fann’spartment, he saw a man chatting with Bai Fann. Although Bai Fann was cold, the man was quite attentive, seemingly stuffing a can into Bai Fann’s hands.

Seeing Bai Fann subtly ept it, Han Dong smirked coldly. This woman isn’t good. Wang Hu married a spendthrift. A can could make her so responsive, showing how starved she was for affection?

Upon returning, he didn’t mention this, assuming it was an attempt at an affair.

Yan Kai, however, mentioned his cousin and Gu Juntao during a casual chat.

"Wang Guihua insists his son bring his wife to live with them, and my cousin really has a headache. They only moved in a few days ago and started arguing. My cousin’s eyes are red, clearly aggrieved. I asked her, but she didn’t dare say. Gu Juntao mentioned it, but I’m an outsider, what can I say?"

Gu Junming frowned, "They’ve moved in already? I haven’t been home for the past few days. What happened?"

"It’s just trivial matters. I think you and your wife should be cautious too."

Sun Chan’s cheeks flushed, secretly worrying for Yang Hongying.

Apparently, after Yang Hongying and Gu Juntao moved in, Wang Guihua sent the maid home due to health issues, leaving Yang Hongying to do all the housework, cooking, andundry, entirely managing the small vi, exhausting her daily.

Wang Guihua not only didn’t help but criticized, saying the dishes were either salty or tasteless, clothes weren’t clean.

Yang Hongying didn’t dare tell her husband, but one day, Gu Juntao returned early and saw his mother berating Yang Hongying in the kitchen. That’s when he realized she was being mistreated. He strode in, pulling the tearful Yang Hongying outside without a word.

Wang Guihua angrily blocked them, "What are you doing? I didn’t say anything, just mentioned how to scrape fish scales, and she cries, making me look like an evil mother-inw!"

"You really are a venomous mother-inw!" Gu Juntao frowned, "I love Yang Hongying. I married her for joy, not to be your servant. She doesn’t do chores at her home, so why should she be humiliated here? Did I marry a maid for you?"

"What are you saying!" Wang Guihua cried out, "I’m only thinking of her improvement. If she can’t handle household chores, won’t it be the same when you live independently?"

"Do you do household chores? You’ve done nothing and lived in luxury your whole life. Despite not knowing chores, you force your daughter-inw to be perfect. My wife may not match the maid’s standards, but our small household is perfectly fine. That’s more than good enough!"

    Wang Guihua trembled with anger.

Yang Hongying quickly held Gu Juntao back, "Stop it, Mom means well. Don’t say anymore."

"Hush!" Wang Guihua pointed at Yang Hongying, "Don’t say nice things here! You’re the one stirring behind the scenes, or why would my son treat me like this?"

"Enough... Yang Hongying, pack your things, we’re leaving!" Gu Juntao was infuriated, turning and leaving directly.

Wang Guihua sat on the sofa crying. Yang Hongying felt wronged too and sat crying but didn’t dare leave.

Gu Juntao tried to take Yang Hongying away, but Wang Guihua threatened if they left, she’d no longer live.

While themotion was unfolding, Yan Kai and Gu Zishan returned together. Seeing the mess inside, Yan Kai, despite feeling sorry for his sister, could only mildly reprimand Yang Hongying.

Gu Juntao then exploded in anger and left dragging Yang Hongying away.

    "And then?"

Yan Kai said, "Then Gu Zishan had a huge argument with Wang Guihua and packed up to leave as well."

Leaving Wang Guihua alone in the vi to stew. Wang Guihua went to the military base to have a fit at Gu Zishan, but no one paid any heed.

Sun Chan furrowed her brow, "So they aren’t living there anymore? I’m worried Wang Guihua won’t let this go easily."
