Rebirth Swapped Bride: Married to a Ruthless Cursed billionaire Book2
Chapter 42: Police station
CHAPTER 42: POLICE STATION
Several bodyguards got out of the car and took the man to the police station.
Beauty curled up in the car like a chastised child, disheveled and defeated, like a chicken that had lost a fight.
"Weren’t you very talkative and noisy earlier?
Why have you turned silent now?"
Lucas stared at her coldly and asked her, with a barely perceptible movement of his lips.
Beauty lowered her head and remained silent.
The incident just now had left her stunned.
She imagined what could have happened if Lucas hadn’t appeared suddenly.
The assistant placed the clothes purchased from the mall in front of her and casually informed Lucas, "The police station just called.
The man has been detained."
Beauty suddenly lifted her head and murmured, "Thank you."
"What?
Did I hear correctly?
The little chicken actually knows how to say thank you.
This is indeed a rare occurrence." Lucas said was expressionless as he uttered these words, his gaze scrutinizing her.
He ordered everyone else out of the car and handed the clothes to Beauty, his brows furrowing.
For a man like him, who remains unruffled regardless of the situation, this frown and cold gaze showed that he was truly angry at that moment.
Beauty dared not breathe heavily, knowing that she was in the wrong, she didn’t argue with him anymore.
After all, one must bow one’s head under another’s roof.
"Change your clothes.
I’m going to take a nap.
I haven’t had any rest since getting off the plane," he said.
Lucas moved to the back and rested his head on the back of the chair.
Beauty held her long skirt tightly, pondered for a while, and then turned her head to glance at him again.
At this moment, someone seemed to sense her fiery gaze, slightly opened his deer eyes and his icy pupils sank.
Beauty returned to her senses immediately, her face flushed.
Gripping her clothes tightly, she bit her lips nervously.
"Don’t worry, I have no interest in your dried-fish figure.
Plus, I’ve seen every part of you before, so there’s nothing for you to be shy about."
If anyone else had said that, she’d definitely throw a pillow at his face.
What do you mean she shouldn’t be shy now that he had seen her?
She was still an unmarried lady, how could she not be shy when undressing in front of a man!
But the man before her wasn’t just anyone, he was the heartthrob of countless young women and married women in the city.
His flawlessly handsome face made her feel less offended, even as he made such a brazen remark.
Beauty felt both angry and wronged, and with her back to Lucas, she took off her top.
Her shoulder blades and small of her back were revealed, her ivory-white skin looked soft and boneless.
Despite her young age, her figure would no doubt set many minds to wandering.
Lucas had not expected her to undress so casually, and since he had opened his eyes, he hadn’t closed them.
It was not until he noticed her porcelain-like skin and svelte waist that he slightly closed his eyes again.
A hint of blush surprisingly surfaced on his face.
He had been a dominating figure in the business world for many years, what kind of woman hadn’t he seen?
God knows how many women were willing to submit to him, yet none were able to make his heart flutter as wildly.
All he saw was an underdeveloped teen boy.
To him, there was no difference between her and a man’s body.
He had already forgotten about the completely exposed appearance from before.
Never had he imagined that in just a few months, under professional training, she would develop such a supple yet well-shaped figure.
The former tomboy had unexpectedly matured into a blooming maiden.
This was all his doing!
This sharp-tongued little girl before him was trained by the people he had arranged.
Beauty, her face flushed, slipped on a long skirt, took off her soaked pants, and packed the clothes into a bag.
Only then did she slowly turn her head to look at Lucas, who had somehow opened his eyes at some point.
"When did you open your eyes?"
Stammering, Beauty almost bit her own tongue, and her small face flushed an even deafening red.
Lucas raised his eyebrows slightly and lifted his cold gaze.
"Guess."
Your guess is as good as mine!
Beauty was on the verge of tears, wishing she could find a hole to disappear into and cultivate as an immortal hermit, never to be seen again.
The car door was opened, and everyone else began to board the vehicle one after another.
Beauty resumed her usual stoic demeanor, and the others didn’t utter another word.
The car was eerily silent.
Not until the car pulled up in front of a fancy Western restaurant and the car door was opened again.
Beauty hesitated for a bit before following suit and stepping out of the car.
"If any of you have other things to do, you do not need to worry about me.
I can take a cab home.
However, could you lend me some cab fare?
I’ll pay you back in the future."
Lucas laughed coldly, "Right now, you belong to me.
Do you really think your money is none of my business?"
His words left Beauty speechless.
Indeed, being at the mercy of others was not a favourable position.
She had prepared herself for this before coming to the Marson household.
However, due to her stubbornness, she raised her chin defiantly.
With a half-raised eyebrow, she retorted, "Even though I’m relying on you for my living now, you can rest assured.
One day, I will earn money on my own merits.
By that time, I will pay back all the money I owe you."
"Spirited, but what’s the use of having claws and fangs?
As long as I remain your guardian, everything you own isn’t yours.
Even if you work and earn money on your own, you will likely be in debt for a lifetime!
Do you think what you use and consume daily comes from street stalls?"
He gazed at her Frosty after speaking, slipping his hands into his pockets as he eyed her rose-colored long dress.
Beauty was speechless.
Looking down at the dress she wore, she sensed its familiarity, as if she had seen it in one of her classmates’ magazines a few days ago.
The brand suggested a hefty price.
She probably couldn’t afford such a dress even after several years of part-time work.
Involuntarily, she tugs at the hem of her dress, keeping her head slightly lowered.
The bodyguard was holding an umbrella for her, rainwater poured down the black umbrella, creating a pitter-patter sound and grayish view.
Without giving her time to ponder, her arm was grabbed by someone, and they head towards the restaurant.
The doormen noticed their expensive car and clothing, they immediately knew this was a wealthy crowd.
They looked at Lucas with a beaming smile, their eyes filled with the sparkle of seeing money.
The assistant and others stayed in the car, while Beauty was forcibly dragged by Lucas into a private room.
The waiter, menu in hand, grinned broadly. Lucas confidently ordered the meals and desserts he usually loved, his every movement was graceful and stylish.
The waiting staff looked at them, their eyes filled with envious hearts, their faces were filled with admiration for the young girl in front of them.
"Let’s see how well you’ve improved with your etiquette lessons in these months, whether you’re good enough to accompany me outside," Lucas finished speaking, with a hint of a smile on his lips.
Beauty raised an eyebrow leisurely, lifted the corner of her mouth: "After such a long period of training and learning from you, I am no longer the Beauty who first arrived at the villa."
The waiter served the dishes, Beauty swirled the red wine in her high-stemmed glass, took a delicate sip, and frowned slightly.
His eyes didn’t miss the smallest ripple of her reaction.
