CHAPTER 437: CHAPTER 179: WOMEN’S SHOWDOWN (PART 2)
"It seems you’re still not satisfied, I’m sorry, but now I have to tell you something that will make you even less satisfied. Su Ziceng has already started to suspect you. Before long, I believe she will figure out your relationship with Fei Qing and guess, based on the intimacy of your exchanges, that the baby you’ve always used to garner her sympathy has absolutely nothing to do with the Su Family, or with her."
Pello’s words were like heavy hammers, repeatedly striking at Yan Wuxu’s nerves.
"No," Yan Wuxu slumped onto the sofa, then quickly sat up again. She approached Pello, trying to assume her most seductive pose in the hopes of winning his favor. But even before she got close to Pello, she began to tremble uncontrollably.
Because she saw the look on Pello’s face, full of disgust, with eyes that seemed ready to immediately toss her aside. Such a Yan Wuxu reminded Pello of Ye Taina, the promiscuous woman who had abandoned him and his father, the woman he hated most in his life.
"You don’t need to put on this act, not all men fall for it," Pello said coldly, "but I will help you."
Hope rose once again in Yan Wuxu’s heart, she knew that the man before her was the only one in the world who could help her right now. He knew Shang Yin, he still held an important position at the Su Family, and his relationship with Su Ziceng was very close.
Yan Wuxu felt something strange again, why would Pello want to help her? What benefit was there for him to help her? From all his arrangements, it seemed like he was scheming something.
"Erase all those messy thoughts from your mind," Pello didn’t want to discuss any of his plans with Yan Wuxu. He wanted an obedient puppet, not a thoughtful person.
"Here are two sets of eavesdroppers and cameras, install them in the rooms of Su Qingzhang and Su Ziceng. Also, clean out all those cigarettes and things Fei Qing gave you when you get home tonight. If you don’t have time, then you’ll have to follow what I’m about to teach you," Pello handed over two sets of surveillance equipment to Yan Wuxu, then explained how to use them and some other things to do next.
"Remember, I will contact you periodically from now on," after saying this, Pello settled the bill and swiftly left the room.
Yan Wuxu sat for a while longer before leaving the club. Thunderstorms still raged outside.
"What did you say?" Su Ziceng looked at the desperately sorrowful Yan Wuxu.
"I only found out today," Yan Wuxu’s body was convulsing nonstop, tears streamed down her pale face, she reached into her newly brought handbag and pulled out a death certificate.
The report stated: *Year*Month*Day, died after a high fever caused by meningitis that did not subside after treatment.
"How could it be so sudden..." Su Ziceng only had a brief encounter with the pitiful child, but she had delivered the baby with her own hands, and he was her own younger brother. In this world, besides Su Qingzhang, her second relative had just passed away like that.
"The conditions in the mountain village were too poor, the meningitis was incurable," Yan Wuxu saw Su Ziceng’s grief and while trembling, she lifted her face which was lying on Su Ziceng’s knees.
Her hand quietly picked up Su Ziceng’s box of cigarettes. "I think about my baby day and night, which mother doesn’t love her own flesh and blood. Hearing the cries of the children next door, my chest and head felt like they were about to burst. That night, you were not here, and Qingzhang only cared about soothing the child, so I went out alone for some air," Yan Wuxu sat down on the ground after crying herself out, refusing to stand up.
"Recently, mom has also been ignoring me, she thinks I’m heartless, that I have ignored everything for the sake of the Su Family’s status," Yan Wuxu grabbed Su Ziceng again, shaking her nonstop, defending herself.
"Wuxu, calm down first," Su Ziceng saw that Yan Wuxu was on the verge of collapse, "be honest with me, do you have someone else out there?"
Yan Wuxu’s eyes darted to one side, she thought about how to explain her certain-to-be-revealed affair so it would seem more justifiable.
"You are not me, you don’t know my pain." Yan Wuxu lifted her head, her eyes now devoid of tears, "He is no longer young, under the light, you can see his sagging belly, and his feet are bent from years of limping, your father now resembles a frail camel, only fixating on me. He rarely makes love to me, when we are together, we barely have any common topics to talk about," Yan Wuxu murmured softly.
