CHAPTER 183: CHAPTER 183 WHAT IS HE PROVING TO HER?

Fiona Grantham just came to make a brief appearance as the Saintess of the Western Frontier Tribe, with only a few minutes of screen time.

With Fiona Grantham’s level of fame, she only needs to come by for a few hours of filming when it’s time.

If yesterday she came by to see Bryce Xavier out of friendship, it was understandable.

But why did she come again today?

Her scenes aren’t due for another two days, after all.

As she appraised Fiona Grantham, Fiona also noticed her.

Along with that, she saw Mason Bennett standing beside her...

Fiona paused, then smiled and said something to the people around her.

The crowd around her dispersed with smiles.

Fiona waved off her assistant and agent, smiling as she walked towards Bella Green.

"Hi, Bella," the woman greeted with a gentle voice.

A hint of resistance flashed in Bella Green’s eyes. Since when were they so familiar?

Familiar enough to address each other like this?

"Hello, Ms. Grantham," Bella replied with a slight smile, polite yet distant.

Fiona was taken aback, then smiled and shook her head as if a bit helpless. She then looked at the man beside Bella with a mask on, a soft warmth flickering in her eyes.

"I saw your car from outside, didn’t expect you to be here," she said.

The familiarity in her tone surprised Bella, and she turned to look at Mason Bennett.

The mask covered most of his face, only his eyes and forehead were visible, but unless you really knew him well, you wouldn’t recognize him so easily.

"The kid loves to have fun and wants to act, so I came to take a look,"

Mason said to Fiona in a calm voice, then reached out and ruffled Bella’s hair affectionately.

His words made Bella’s eyes darken, even though his voice didn’t fluctuate much.

But the tone obviously was like chatting with someone familiar.

How did they know each other? And so well, at that?

As Bella pondered, Fiona was also startled by the man’s unconscious gesture.

Her eyes moved to Bella, and the big hand resting on her head, with her gaze darkening slightly.

"You and Bella?" Fiona asked with a puzzled look at Bella.

"My brother," Mason replied.

Hearing the word "brother," Fiona was taken aback again, then looked at Bella in surprise.

"Brother?" Her tone was full of surprise.

Mason raised an eyebrow, looking at Fiona with a hint of inquiry.

Fiona quickly collected her thoughts, put on a smile, and looked at Bella: "Just a bit surprised that Bella is your brother. How long have I been out of the country, and you’ve gained a brother?"

Listening to the woman’s familiar and intimate words, Bella frowned, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

She didn’t know if it was her imagination, but she felt as if Fiona’s every word was trying to prove something to her.

Bella’s expressions changed so quickly that Mason couldn’t ignore it even if he tried, so he pinched her cheek.

"Now what?"

The smile on Fiona’s lips stiffened, and her question went ignored, leaving her slightly embarrassed.

Bella didn’t even say a single word, and she could easily catch his attention. Ignoring her question?

Yesterday as well, he canceled their appointment because of Bella.

And now, even though his tone wasn’t particularly gentle, the indulgence and helplessness contained within it were so jarring.

"Nothing, my scene is coming up, I’m off,"

Bella said, somewhat irritably, ducking away from the man’s hand and stepping towards Bryce Xavier’s side.
