CHAPTER 186: CHAPTER 186: THE LITTLE THING THAT NEEDS DISCIPLINE

"I’ll take you to the hospital."

The man’s deep, indifferent voice echoed inside the car.

Sitting in the back seat, Fiona Grantham slowly opened her eyes and gently shook her head. "No need, I’ll be fine after resting a bit."

Mason Bennett glanced at the woman’s complexion through the rearview mirror, it wasn’t as bad as before, so he withdrew his gaze without asking further.

Hoping the man would continue to show some concern, she saw him resume driving, having already looked away.

Fiona Grantham bit her lip, a shadow of gloom passing through her eyes.

Her gaze fell to the car mat, where a black corner had caught her attention.

Fiona Grantham glanced at the man driving in front, then leaned forward to pick up the card wedged in the gap from the mat.

She looked at the card in her hand, her eyes flashing slightly before quickly tucking it into her pocket.

After dropping Fiona Grantham back at her place, Mason Bennett drove straight back to the company.

...

After returning to the company, Mason Bennett waited all afternoon, but didn’t receive a call or message from Bella Green.

This frustrated him, and as a result, the entire Nathan Bennett Group was affected by his mood.

A whole week of overtime had left everyone’s hands and feet cramping, and heads spinning...

An entire week passed without any contact between Mason Bennett and Bella Green, neither calling each other.

President’s office

Seated behind his desk, Mason Bennett took out his phone and stared at the still-empty message screen, a frown forming between his brows.

This little thing, not contacting him for so many days?

Initially, he deliberately refrained from calling her, waiting for Bella Green to call him.

But in the end, nothing happened, so he stubbornly chose not to reach out to her.

Not knowing what Bella Green was thinking, Mason Bennett felt incredibly frustrated these days.

His temper was worse than usual, making Elliot Morris pray every time he entered the office, hoping to make it out alive.

"Trouble-maker." The man tossed the phone onto the desk, squinting his eyes and snorting coldly.

As soon as Elliot Morris entered the room, he was taken aback by this statement.

"Boss, who are you planning to deal with?"

His sudden voice displeased Mason Bennett, prompting him to raise his eyes towards Elliot Morris.

Elliot Morris felt a chill run down his spine under that gaze; he quickly forced a smile, pointing towards the door with a flattering expression.

"I did knock."

Mason Bennett didn’t bother arguing, his gaze retreating in some agitation. "What’s up?"

Elliot Morris breathed a sigh of relief, promptly stepping forward to hand over the documents he held. "These files need your review, boss."

"Alright." The man responded indifferently.

Elliot Morris sighed in relief and was about to leave the office when he noticed Mason Bennett’s murderous glare fixed on the cell phone in front of him.

Thinking it over, he took a courageous step forward for the sake of himself and all Nathan Bennett employees.

After pondering, he finally spoke, "Mr. Bennett, are you waiting for a call?"

As soon as he spoke, Mason Bennett shot him a freezing glare that almost made Elliot Morris wet himself.

Swallowing hard, Elliot Morris contemplated whether to escape, yet somehow, a bizarre thought occurred as he looked at the phone on the desk, changing his expression to a peculiar one.

"Boss, could it be you’re waiting for Young Mr. Green’s call?"

As soon as the words fell, the office’s temperature dropped to freezing, like the harsh frost of December.

Elliot Morris was so terrified that his scalp nearly burst, partly due to Mason Bennett’s intimidating aura, and more so because his speculation was confirmed.

So they had been tormented for days just because Young Mr. Green hadn’t called the boss???
