After having evolved Sofia and Emily's Dream Weapons, I ended up causing quite a lot more commotion than I imagined.

The girls were amazed, shocked, and very happy, moving around and using their newly evolved powers all the time.

I was honestly both happy and surprised myself, of how much they were surprised about it. I suppose in this world it was a fact that evolving their dream weapons was never going to be a thing?

Seeing how those students had initially preferred to have died than to be revived without their dream weapons anymore, it could be that dream weapons are something very important to the Dream Warriors of this world.

Its not the same as a police officer and their gun, no, it's more like a part of your own body, your own life depends on it and is shaped around what your Dream Weapon ends up being.

This is probably also the reason why when people go through "character development" for a lack of a better term, their Dream Weapon develops into new forms and gain new abilities.

It's all in their heads, in their emotions and their lives, they shape their world and their lives with the Dream Weapons they are born with or gain, and also vice versa, the Dream Weapon is shaped by their own experiences and how they see the world around them.

It's quite inspiring when you think. At first I thought this world was a bit weird but nothing that amazing, just another "magic in modern world setting" but I have begun to realize just how unique this world truly is, even though it feels like a parallel Earth and all, it has so many unique things to it that even when compared to Yggdrasil, such things cannot be found there.

And perhaps not even with the Earth as it is now… From what I had heard from Eustace, Earth has changed after the Tower connected to it, people started gaining statuses, skills, classes, and could level up, guilds were formed with hunters and all of that.

But even then when compared to his world, it is very different, even more how people grow, and what they have to fight in both settings…

Oh well, I better not disappoint my two other friends Alma was very excited, her adorable face couldn't hold her excitement, actually.

"You're excited, Alma?" I giggled.

"I-I… Do I look weird? I-I'm sorry…! I just… I want to see what my Undine Staff could become!" She said adorably.

"Aww, aren't you a cutie?" I sighed, petting her head. "I bet it will become something amazing."

"C-Cutie?!" Alma grew redder. "I-I… Maria…! Saying such things to me all the time… You're going to make me get the wrong idea, you know?"

"Wrong… idea?" I tilted my head.

"A-Ah! N-Never mind! F-Forget what I said!" she covered her face in embarrassment.

Ugh, she's too cute.

Sofia, Emily, and Martina are cute too but… Alma is definitely the cutest of the group, dammit.

I hate comparing but I must admit that fact right now.

I am an Alma stan!

Ahem, anyway, let's move on.

"Now Alma, let me touch your staff," I said. "Come on, don't be shy. It's alright. Sorry if I made you get embarrassed… I sometimes have difficulties holding back what I think… into just thoughts and not saying it out loud."

"A-Ah… I… see…" She muttered, looking even cuter. "You think I'm cute?"

"Of course," I nodded. "Alright, the staff, Alma! The staff."

"A-Ah, right…" She muttered, as she moved the staff towards me. "I hope you can become something amazing, my Undine Staff!"

As she caressed her staff one last time, I touched the staff, feeling a slightly powerful aura from within it. Oh yeah, this one was going to become something really strong, I could immediately tell.

Alright, just like the others, it sounds good enough for me. I should have all materials available too, nothing too rare as I had accumulated quite a lot of Water Attribute Materials from my trip in the deep ocean back in Yggdrasil, and those underwater nightmare bones and scales are also something we had hunted before too… Well, mostly Nyx, she gave me the corpses of a bunch of swamp fish they hunted inside the Nightmare World we were trapped.

Without further ado, I pressed [Yes]!

FLAAASH!

In that moment, the materials appeared out of thin air, merging with the staff, which began floating in midair. The bones and other body parts melted into it, the crystals, the ores, everything ended nicely wrapping themselves around the magical staff, changing its form, making it look more… I guess longer. And also more majestic.

It didn't just have blue jewels on top now, it had them all over its entire body, the silver metal changed to a clear blue and dark blue metal, and it became much longer, something Alma could walk around like a cane I guess?

The top of the staff, the decoration shaped as water droplets changed, taking the form of an Undine Spirit, resembling a small mermaid with a crown on top of her little head made of blue jewels, Sapphire perhaps.

FLUOSH!

The staff slowly descended from the air, reaching Alma's hands, as the girl's eyes widened, amazed, she gasped for air.

"Uoooohhhh?! This is…! This is amazing! My Undine Staff…! It evolved completely into something incredible! I-I can't believe this! Maria! T-Thank you so much! Maria thank you!"

As she hugged her staff, Alma started crying out of nowhere, and then without hesitating I ended hugging her to comfort her.

I guess she became really emotional, her staff meant so much to her, I couldn't believe it.
