Anna's Staff, Undine, evolved and even received a new name, changing from Undine to Undine Azurite, a second name!

I had no idea what that meant though, but I was pretty happy for her nonetheless! It also seemed to have gained the Attack-type, becoming an almost perfect Dream Weapon that offered everything.

Healing Spells, Buffing Spells, Protection and Barrier Spells, and also Attack Spells, all using Water, an element often looked down by other students for some reason? I guess because of the "limits" that each student has at the beginning, Water gained a bad reputation.

But Alma had rapidly evolved the element into something even further beyond its initial bad reputation, she has learned to even freeze it and create sharp and deadly ice.

Now I wonder if she could make steam or mist with it? Although what purposes could they serve? Perhaps distraction and blinding the opponent…

FLUOSH!

As the evolution was finished, the staff slowly descended from the air, reaching Alma's hands, as the girl's eyes widened, amazed, she gasped for air.

As the staff fell into her hands, Sofia's eyes watered down instantly, as tears started falling from her eyes, she cried loudly, almost screaming, hugging her staff while going through many emotions.

"Uoooohhhh?! This is…! This is amazing! My Undine Staff…! It evolved completely into something incredible! I-I can't believe this!"

She looked at me and then ran to my side.

"Maria! T-Thank you so much! Maria thank you!"

As she hugged her staff while crying, I couldn't help but end up hugging her, she was such a cute little thing, and she was so soft too when hugged. I guess she became really emotional, her staff meant so much to her, I couldn't believe it.

Perhaps it was like a partner to her, similar to how the Automata was for Sofia. She was always so lonely due to how her family was, her Automata became her friend and her only company for many years until she entered the Academy and found friends with us.

Maybe the same is with Alma, the undine staff, although it doesn't really speak or move like the Automata, it has a name, well, now two, and Alma always speaks to her staff as if it were a person, a friend or maybe a sister.

"Undine! You've grown up! Are you also Azurite now? Undine!"

Alma giggled in between tears, kissing the undine-shaped crystal on top of her staff, as she rubbed her face on her, despite being a rather hard stone.

"I love you Undine, my friend…! Let's move forward together as always!"

Yeah, I suppose she indeed loved her a lot…

"Of course, Alma… I'll always protect you, my dear friend."

"Eh?!"

"HAH!?"

Silence.

We…

We heard a voice.

A voice coming from the staff!

We looked around in silence for a moment, nobody heard it except us.

Emily and Sofia walked to our side confused, although still quite happy about what happened to notice our faces looking a bit weird.

I looked back at Alma and then she looked at me.

"W-Was that… my imagination? Or… did you hear it too, Maria?"

"Eeeh… I also heard it, yep."

"N-no way…"

Alma grabbed her staff, looking at the undine made of sapphire crystals.

"UNDINE?!"

The staff didn't move or made any expressions, but the two little eyes of the small crystal statue glowed with a bright, clear blue light.

"That's right… thanks to my new form, I can finally speak, it seems… I am so happy!"

"E-Eeeeh?! No way! Undine! I'm so happy toooooo!"

Alma ended hugging her staff even harder, and Undine materialized a pair of arms made of water, hugging her back.

Wow.

Is this the first time a Dream Weapon speaks outside of mutating into a Nightmare like with the Automata?!

Just what are Dream Weapons, really?

Just when I had them figured out, something like this happens.

This world… it's really one of a kind.

It's not really a spirit though, Dream Weapons, and even Nightmares are just still unique beings of their own I suppose.

Born from humanity, not from spiritual energies or something, just from humanity's feelings.

Perhaps the humanity of this world is unique in that aspect, they don't realize it, but when compared to humans from other worlds, they possess a special supernatural power.

It is not something that directly gives them strength though, but that manifests their fears, hopes, dreams, and emotions into tangible energy.

This energy then merges together into physical matter, manifesting into living beings, or even an entire dimension after hundreds or thousands of years of accumulation of these energies.

It's just… the more I figure out, the more fascinating this world, Blue Star, becomes.

"What's going on, mam- I mean big sis?" Nyx walked to our side, while carrying with her hand the tail of one of the Nightmaresaurs, she was eating it without problems.

"You've been able to evolve three Dream Weapons so far, huh? That's quite amazing, all things considered," Lucifer said.

"A-Ah yeah, it's just that this time… Um, well, Alma's staff can speak," I said.

"It can?! That's so cool! Can my Dream Weapon evolve next, mommy?!" Nyx asked, jumping by my side. "I want my axe to speak too!"

"I-I don't know if it'll speak though, it seemed random?" I wondered. "Perhaps there are certain requirements… We'll have to figure that out on our own later."

"Alma? What's going on?" As I talked with my daughter and her father, I heard Sofia walking to Alma. "Oh wow your staff looks amazing…! But what's wrong?"

"Undine can talk! She can talk! Listen!" Alma said.

"Hello, Sofia. I'm happy that you've been Alma's friend. This girl used to be so lonely, but I'm glad she has many friends now…"

Undine talked but…

"Hm? I can't hear anything though?"

Sofia couldn't hear her!

Actually, nobody except me and Alma could.

"Eeeh?!"
