CHAPTER 1446: AZURE STAR’S HISTORY

Suddenly, Beatriz started explaining things nobody here knew, and which I wish I asked her before! I only asked her about the Nightmare Demons, but never about the actual origins of this and that.

She explained how this world’s Nightmare Void Sea existed much before humans, as it was born from the accumulated negative energy that even animals, from the most prehistoric to the most recent exude from their bodies.

So it’s not human’s fault that this got to this extent, all life is at fault... It’s almost as if its something just natural from this planet, a certain "failure" that caused all life to be born with the innate power to exude negative energy from their emotional responses, actions, and anything that is driven by instinct or emotion.

So pretty much anything?!

"Long before humans existed, this Dimension already existed, but it was much weaker. Over eons, its Nightmare Miasma irradiated into the environment, creating the Ancient Nightmare Fields inside of the planet’s Hollow Core, and this is how this massive place was formed, surrounding the Nightmare Void Sea, the Dimension where Nightmares originate from was this place! It ended mutating and creating countless Nightmare Beasts, that exist even now within these jungles."

And the images she projected in front of us rapidly showed the planet’s core irradiating darkness into its surroundings, twisting everything and creating this giant Nightmare Field inside of the planet itself.

"And from there on, it continued expanding, as more and larger creatures roamed everywhere, this place probably became a cradle for new, alien life the surface had never seen before!"

It continued irradiating, but never too far, staying within a completely balanced state, animals and life died and was born constantly, positive energies were also born, offsetting the negative energies from over accumulating.

"As you can see here, I hypothesize that before the birth of humans, the world was in a much more balanced state! The Nightmare Beasts remained hidden underground, and normal life continued its course without problems."

I never imagined Beatriz was that type of girl though, she really loves talking about the planet and ancient history and prehistory, huh?

"And then, humans appeared."

Her eyes shone bright red as she smiled, suddenly, what resembled a complete stability changed instantly.

And in a very short amount of time, even when humans were a few around the world, surviving and fighting against nature.

For all those tens of thousands of years where cavemen lived and hunter gatherers... well, hunted and gathered.

FLUOSH!

The planet projected in her magic projection suddenly was burst into black flames, everyone was a bit surprised.

"E-Eh? What happened?" Nyx looked at it. "Is this an exaggeration?"

"No it’s not," Smiled Beatriz, she had such a creepy smile her mouth curved up to her ears, and her eyes curved weirdly, showing how truly inhumane she was. "Heheh~ This is what humans did, amazing right? Their greed, their lust, their wrath, their envy, their slothfulness, their gluttony, and their pride! All things that other animals’ kid of lacked for the most part. Every single one of them was so strong, and in each, every single one of them! So wonderful, wonderful beyond belief! The planet, the surface, finally created a being, an animal, that was a literal negative energy factory! Hahaha!"

"That’s..." Jonathan muttered. "So there was once balance... this world was in balance but..."

"But it all changed because of the humans that appeared?" Wondered Arthur. "Now that I think about it, humans... are they the only intelligent race in this world? Why? Where are the elves or the dwarves at? Or the Giants and Dragons?"

"Well they never existed, they’re pure fantasy in this world created by humans themselves," Beatriz said. "But such fantasy became reality when the accumulation of negative energy made by humans became so large... the world quite literally overflowed from it, like a cup overflowing with water until it pours the water everywhere!"

SPLASH!

The black flames from within the planet’s core spread everywhere, the surface was no longer safe from the nightmares, which spread everywhere.

"The ripples in space, the fragmented nightmare realms and all of that, they’re roots, extensions of the Nightmare Void Sea as it expands into the surface," she explained with crazed laughter. "Hahahaha! Isn’t it amazing?! Humans did this! Maybe it started much before that, but humans... provoked their own downfall! And also... gave birth to us, Nightmare Demons. We are the embodiment of their darkest sins, desires, hatred, and nightmares. And much like evolution has been since the beginning, we are those that shall inherit the Earth from them..."

"We are not letting your friends do that though..." Nyx said angrily. "Also if all humans disappear, won’t you’ll end up without food?"

"...I didn’t think about that. But dad, if he’s so dead set on doing this, must have already thought of a solution to our starvation... Maybe eating the Nightmare Beasts could work?" Beatriz wondered. "A-Anyway! That’s it, this is the origin of this damn place, from my own hypotheses."

"Hm, thank you for the info, Beatriz," I said with a nod. "Now give me that."

I stole her potato chips bag from her hands, as I began eating in front of her.

"Eeeh?! Why did you take that!"

"You acted a bit suspicious there, do you still intend to help your brethren destroy humanity? Sheesh, I really thought better of you!"

"W-What?! I’m still a Nightmare Demon at the end! Do you think I can somehow defy my own instincts?!"

"You’ve been doing that for a couple of days now..."

"T-That’s because you enslaved me..."

"Well you were a very bad Nightmare Demon, so it had to be done... but it’s not slavery! We made a pact of non-aggression where you would help me out."

"By forcing me into becoming a traitor!"

"Hahah... Such little details, they don’t really matter that much."

"Ugh..."

"So tell me now, how is this entire world structured? Show me a detailed map with your little projection thing."

"Sure..."

As she groaned, she quickly waved her hands, showcasing just what I wanted, a large map of the world and its interior.
