CHAPTER 1458: ALMOST MAX LEVEL & SOME WEIRD POWERS

I stood above a mountain of corpses, the Nightmaresaurs we ended slaying were so many I lost count already, and I think the System might have done the same.

When we managed to get to the entrance of the Crimson Blood Forest, the Second Layer of the Hollow Planet Nightmare Labyrinth, it was probably already the morning of the next day.

Indeed, we spent hours fighting endlessly, this was perhaps our greatest challenge so far since we got here...

If we don’t count the time I got turned into a child without my memories as an adult, of course!

Everyone managed to level up a whole lot, in fact, some even reached max level such as Lucifer, Celes, Nia, Partner, Arthur, and Emeraldine.

Meanwhile, Jonathan, Arachne, and me have yet to reach max level, dammit!

Well, I was just getting there though, only missing a single level.

Yes, I also devoured a bunch of the Nightmaresaurs, like a few hundred of them to reinforce my Nightmare Power and also Level Up that one Skill that needed that.

And also my Nightmare Slayer Skill got to Level 10! That means even more damage to Nightmares AND anything related to them, Nightmare Demons and Nightmare Beasts included.

Also, the Nightmaresaur Slayer Title got a new Ability, so let’s see what’s that all about...

[Nightmaresaur Slayer: Lv4]

A Simple Title Skill given by the World of Blue Star after you’ve showed your incredible might as a Hunter, slaying over five hundred "Nightmaresaurs" on your own, a name to such beings which this World has taken a liking to, and which will use to refer to these ancient Nightmare Beasts from now on.

When facing and fighting Nightmares, your Stats will increase by 15%, and your Damage Dealt will increase by 50%. These effects will double when fighting Nightmaresaurs, increasing by the same amount every Title Skill Level. (Current Bonus: Stats +60% / Damage +200%)

Nightmaresaurs will respect you and see you as one of their own and will only show aggression when they feel you’re weaker than them or look like that. If you release your Aura, they will quickly scream and run away, however.

You can manifest the Nightmarish Souls and the Primal Wrath of the Nightmaresaurs through your Soul and Aura, unleashing a deadly {Abyssal Nightmaresaur’s Primal Wrath} that can attack foes with deadly claws, powerful bites, and crushing stomps. Damage is based on your Stats, plus an additional 100% with each Skill Level. (Current Bonus: Damage +400%) (New Ability!)

This Title Skill can evolve and obtain new Abilities if you drink the blood of Nightmaresaurs and eat their meat continuously.

Oh? This looks pretty interesting... I mean, it’s nothing game breaking but it seems fun that I can turn my Aura into a giant dinosaur now, right?

And if it’s based on my raw stats alone with a 400 percent addition, then...

FLUOSH!

"GRUOOOOORRRR!"

A mighty roar echoed from my soul, as the giant head of a T-rex made of shadows and darkness, with fiery red eyes manifested, at least four meters big.

"Oh that’s funny! Alright, let’s see... Claws!"

FLUOSH!

Two gigantic dinosaur claws manifested, no longer tiny T-rex claws as I imagined, they were massive and destructive, tearing apart a dozen trees in a single swipe.

CRAAASH!

"Oooh! That’s pretty interesting, right? Alright! Bite!"

The giant head opened and grew thrice as big as before, biting through the trees and tearing dozens of them into bits.

"Heh... Stomp!"

And then, as the last ability, a massive leg of a T-rex made of shadows appeared, crushing anything in front of me with primordial prehistoric might.

BAAAM!

"Okay that’s pretty damn funny! Hahaha!"

I found it hilarious for some reason, it was as if I had a dinosaur in my shadows now, even though it was technically just an aspect of myself.

This is just the starting stages though, maybe it’ll evolve into something even more terrifying as we get through these things.

"For now, we’re done... Let’s do this."

I quickly expanded my Shadows, storing countless Nightmaresaurs while I walked around the forest, finding a camp I had created beforehand, protected by a shadow barrier.

Some of us had remained hunting until now, but some others went to sleep after feeling so tired.

I should probably just leave them sleeping for now until we depart, I don’t need to sleep myself, but I wanted to eat something more than just gorging corpses.

I now have two hungers, the hunger of my soul was satiated because I ate those things only with my soul, but the hunger of my real stomach exists, and it’s annoying, my belly wants to be filled with delicious snacks.

And this world happens to practically be a parallel world from Earth, so it has lots of amazing snacks similar to that world, but also not completely the same.

I mean mostly in brands and stuff, but the same flavors, and snacks can be indeed found everywhere easily.

It just that none of the brands I know of exist here, and they’re replaced by weird knock offs, that’s something I kind of hate.

And don’t even get me started on the video games or books, so different! I can’t find anything of the things I enjoyed back in my world.

But maybe that’s also interesting, it brings a lot of new content to consume...

Now, if only I had the time to do so... Ugh.
