As I saw Partner playing with her new familiar, I looked at the east side of the forest, sensing some footsteps approaching slowly.

And then, there he was, shirtless, covered in blood, tired.

"Lucifer?"

"Hello, Maria, I was… well, I hunted another one of the big ones. It appeared at the corner of the forest."

"Did you had to hunt it down…?"

"I wanted to do it; their materials are really good."

"Alright, come here… you should have a meal at least if you're planning to not sleep."

"I ate half of that giant monster already, so I don't feel too hungry…"

"You ate a raw nightmare beast? You're only going to get indigestion like that, dummy… Alright, just sit down, I'll bring you some tea and… want some sweets?"

I placed a lot of things over the table which Lucifer began to snack on as he drank the tea I brought along from Yggdrasil.

"Ah, this plain old tea… It tastes like home." He smiled, as he had already changed clothes and taken a quick shower, with some water magic spells. "It might not have as many flavors as the teas we can find in this world, but it has a comforting, plain aroma."

"You think so?" I sighed, sitting by his side. "You should rest, you know? Why are you pushing yourself so much? You haven't even evolved yet."

"Yeah, I just… I wanted to test my abilities and see their limits," he explained. "And my evolution… It is complicated, I might have to go unconscious for some time like it happened before… I wouldn't want to become a bother to you on our journey."

"Oh damn you're right! I completely forgot evolutions take longer over time…" I sighed, facepalming. "How long do you think it could take you?"

"I don't know… but this evolution is a complete restructuration of my being, so it might take several hours."

"Huh… well, we still got two days, so I don't think it should be that bad," I said.

"The thing is, you'll continue moving, but if I start evolution, you'll either have to leave me behind or remain by my side and that's… not convenient," he muttered.

"Dammit Lucifer! Why didn't you do it earlier? Everyone's been asleep for like five hours, I am sure you would have managed," I sighed.

"Hah, it isn't as easy as you imagine…" He sighed. "There were some hidden requirements, and I needed to test my abilities as well as prepare myself mentally for this."

"W-Why so much preparation? Just tell me what it is…" I groaned.

"Hmm… Well, take a look." He said.

Lucifer showed me a series of system messages he had received before.

Through our connection with my own Personal System, it was possible to easily show these things, which, with the contemporary Soul Book, was simply impossible to do for the most part.

I could totally understand why he was so worried now too.

So his Divine Ember became a Divine Flame…

He really just… did a lot, huh?

He went through what most would say is "character development"!

"My flames are like this now, well, I can switch them back and forth too, but the white ones are more potent," he explained, showing them to me. "They can also heal me… It's incredible. I never imagined that nightmare mind realm would help me get so far."

"It's great!" I said. "And I'm glad you could overcome it. Honestly, it feels like you've somehow… I don't know, your whole Aura changed."

"You think so?" He wondered, confused.

"Yeah, like you aren't as cranky or gloomy anymore," I said.

"Oh…" He muttered. "Hmm, wait, what do you mean cranky and gloomy?! I-I thought I was great myself! Did I always give that vibe?!"

"Ah, there it is, yep, good ol' Lucifer," I laughed. "You're alright, dear. Don't worry too much, changing doesn't mean suddenly stopping to be who you were a day ago, that's just not realistic. People don't change like that, it is a think that happens slowly over time, but it never is truly a complete change. It is more like you add new stuff to your own person. Who you are never truly gets replaced." I touched his hand.

"…" He looked at me while furrowing his eyebrows. "S-Stop messing with me… I never said anything of that sort…!"

"Hahahaha! Sorry, sorry, I thought I could give you a little talk, but I suppose you're alright, Lucifer," I said.

"Is it all jokes to you? I didn't even get that one either," he groaned.

"Okay, listen, there's nothing to worry about, while you evolve, you can enter my Shadow Realm and do so peacefully," I said. "While we move! Isn't that great?"

"I-I guess…" He muttered. "But I don't think the Shadow Realm within your Shadows will be enough, I need a more solid place…"

"Right… You're going to get all shiny and white now, huh?" I wondered. "Then maybe… Ah, right! My Soulscape! How could I forget that place?

"Soulscape?" He wondered.

"Yeah, don't you remember? It's a Realm inside of my Soul where I grow Spirit Treasures," I explained. "I use them often as materials, even now for the Dream Weapons."
