Reborn as a Hatrack in the Mystical Land
Chapter 585 - 42: Dragon King Domain
CHAPTER 585: CHAPTER 42: DRAGON KING DOMAIN
To catch a thief, first catch the king; to tame a dragon, one must tame the lead dragon.
Yue Jinghua’s Divine Sense was as swift as a flying shuttle, and in an instant, she locked onto a Flying Dragon amongst the group of dragons.
That Flying Dragon seemed more robust and agile than the others, with Cultivation slightly superior, evidently the leader among the Flying Dragons.
Yue Minzhi, like a hawk swooping down on its prey, leapt up from the back of the Green Dragon, swiftly and accurately seizing that particular Flying Dragon.
He flipped onto the dragon’s back, grabbing the Dragon Scales with one hand, his movements as smooth and flowing as the clouds and water, with unrivaled fluency.
The Flying Dragon intended to resist, but suddenly felt an overwhelming spiritual power pressing down like a crushing blanket from the sky.
Under this immense pressure, the Flying Dragon forgot even its instinct to flap its wings, and its massive body crashed down with a thunderous boom, like a collapsing house.
"Minzhi," Long Rui, mounted on the dragon’s back, witnessed this scene, tears brimming in his eyes.
As Yue Minzhi and the Flying Dragon King touched the ground, Zhan Tian seized the opportunity. Muttering under his breath, a mysterious fluctuation silently enveloped the agitated Dragon Clan and the panicked Quasi-Dragon Knights.
Yue Jinghua also felt that odd fluctuation and turned her head to look upwards.
An eerie sensation arose from the depths of her heart.
Inside the Dragon Cave, it was as though an invisible net had suddenly appeared. Both the Sub-Asian Dragons within and the Quasi-Dragon Knights felt a stagnation of their Dark Energy, evidently suppressed.
"Such a powerful Spiritual Domain. That’s the Domain Power only a Holy Domain powerhouse can emanate," Qing Pu arrived beside Yue Jinghua, witnessing the potent suppressive force emanating from Zhan Tian.
This oppressive force was different from the Asura Killing Flame radiating from within Yue Jinghua. It was more tranquil, had a broader range, and doused the restlessness of the Sub-Asian Dragons as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over their heads, instantly cooling them down.
Even the Dark Practitioners within the Dragon Cave subconsciously wanted to submit.
Could Zhan Tian be a peerless powerhouse who had comprehended the Spiritual Domain?
Yue Jinghua was filled with trepidation; no wonder he had become one of the top-ranked triple-system Dragon Riders in the Empire.
Under the influence of the Spiritual Domain, nearly all the Dark Beasts and Dark Practitioners’ Cultivation suffered a significant drop.
Before long, calm was restored within the Dragon Cave.
"Minzhi, you’re injured," Long Rui jumped down from the Green Dragon’s back; noticing a cut on Yue Minzhi’s hand, she quickly took out an Elixir Pill, wanting to apply it to the wound.
Yue Jinghua looked down to see that in the chaos just before, her hand had been gashed by the rough Dragon Scales, and bright red blood was continuously seeping out.
She glanced at Long Rui and thought to herself: "Big brother, I’m being very generous as a sister. To help you woo this girl, I’ve put in both blood and effort," Yue Jinghua thought inwardly, resolving to ask for a hefty red envelope when Yue Min and his partner get married.
Seeing that Yue Minzhi was silently enduring, Long Rui, gazing at him deeply and affectionately, grew even more bashful, her hands fumbling as she bandaged his wound.
"Long Rui," Long Rui was still feeling the sweetness in her heart when Zhan Tian, fuming with rage, approached, "What did I say earlier? We must be cautious and careful. First, you exposed the jewelry, then you took out the Sword blade, causing everyone to panic, nearly turning the entire Dragon Cave upside down."
Filled with self-reproach, Long Rui hung her head in silence.
"And you," Zhan Tian scolded after berating Long Rui, then turned to "Yue Minzhi" with a huff and a glower, "Who do you think you are? Just a Quasi-Dragon Knight, yet you dare to ride a Sub-Asian Dragon without permission. If you cannot control it properly, your several lives would not be enough to atone."
After being bombarded by Zhan Tian with a spittle-laced tirade, both Yue Jinghua and Long Rui remained silent.
"You two infuriate me to no end. For the next few days, you must come and clean the Dragon Cave every evening. If it’s not clean, you’re not allowed to leave," Zhan Tian said with a snort, his face burning with rage, as he led the group of Quasi-Dragon Knights away.
"It’s all my fault," Long Rui sighed softly.
"It’s nothing, just cleaning the Dragon Cave," Yue Minzhi said, not taking it seriously.
After Zhan Tian left the Dragon Cave and dispersed the Quasi-Dragon Knights, he walked back and forth on the training grounds.
The scenes that had just unfolded in the Dragon Cave replayed continuously in his mind, like rewinding a tape.
A kid who had never entered the Dragon Cave, one who only knew to tease the Green Lizard Dragon, had ridden off on the Green Lizard Dragon in a huff and then successfully subdued a Flying Dragon King.
Looking at "Yue Minzhi," it was clear that he had no understanding of the Spiritual Domain.
That wasn’t surprising; after all, who would have thought that as a Dragon Rider, Zhan Tian’s specialty wasn’t Dragon Taming, but spiritual cultivation?
He harbored an important secret. While still a Dark Earth Practitioner with Dark Earth Cultivation, Zhan Tian had already started dabbling in the "Domain." By the time he advanced to Dark Heavenly, he became the first Practitioner in the Dragon War Empire to comprehend the Spiritual Domain.
His Dragon King Domain was the secret behind his title as a three-element Dragon Rider.
But because spiritual cultivation wasn’t highly valued in the Empire, Zhan Tian’s secret remained undiscovered.
"Impressive, that kid is impressive," Zhan Tian muttered as he paced the training grounds. Without any knowledge of the Spiritual Domain, he managed to smoothly control both a Flying Dragon and a Land Dragon on his first encounter with giant dragons.
As Zhan Tian mumbled to himself, the Dragon Pattern on his breastplate lit up.
The Hurricane Storm Dragon Nuoyan appeared in front of him. After communicating with it through their Divine Sense, Zhan Tian had a sudden revelation, "Your mate is about to lay eggs, and you’re going to be a father? You want to return to the Dragon Cave for a few days to stand guard? Ah, old buddy, time flies. You’ve been with me for more than fifty years. Go on, head back and watch over them. Everything at the training grounds will be fine with me here. Oh, since you’re going back to the Dragon Cave, then do me a favor and keep an eye on those two youngsters, especially the one named Yue Minzhi."
Zhan Tian patted the Hurricane Storm Dragon, his face filled with emotion.
After the Dragon Cave incident, the relationship between "Yue Minzhi" and Long Rui had finally taken a significant turn.
Long Rui used to resent "Yue Minzhi" for being too indifferent, but ever since she was saved once, the way she looked at "Yue Minzhi" was so tender it felt like one could squeeze water out of her gaze, which made Yue Jinghua endlessly shudder with goosebumps.
Over the past few days, Yue Jinghua also continued to receive news about Yue Minzhi through the giant-winged mosquitoes.
Cheng Ying was right. The poison in Yue Minzhi had mostly been cleared, and he should be waking up in a few days.
Because they had to clean the Dragon Cave, Yue Jinghua and Cheng Ying were exempted from training.
At first, both of them felt rather lucky, given Zhan Tian’s unpredictable temperament, which wasn’t something everyone could withstand.
But as soon as they started cleaning the Dragon Cave for half a day, they were utterly flabbergasted.
With a pale face, Long Rui was stuttering and at a loss for words, and Yue Jinghua was frowning ceaselessly, both of them feeling an urge to go straight back to the training grounds.
