CHAPTER 1047: CHAPTER 1047

"I see... Then, shall we head back now?" Arabella inquired.

"Yes, let’s head back," Ferdinand agreed.

Alwin then teleported them back to the palace.

They had a short break before having to get changed again for their next scheduled activity.

But the visit to Crux was especially taxing and stressful for Arabella with all the negative thoughts the people had. Thus, upon returning to the palace, she asked to be teleported to the flower garden to recharge.

Ferdinand accompanied her and she fell asleep in his lap before she knew it.

All the negativity in Crux took a toll on her so she slept soundly for a few hours before Ferdinand woke her up because they needed to have their dinner early and proceed to their next task.

This time, it was to head to Sibruh to attend the first implementation of the story telling caravan.

When Arabella and Ferdinand arrived, all the preparations for the story telling caravan was done. People were already gathered too, waiting for the event to start.

Arabella was glad to see that even though she was not around in the morning, all preparations were done superbly. The people were already gathered too.

Denzel was standing near the fireplace speaking with the story telling caravan troupe.

Today’s event was different from the theater shows. The story telling of the caravan’s first venue was this place where the burning of the disease-afflicted plants was usually done.

It was also scheduled at night, a few minutes after sunset. This was for an added effect to the bonfire.

Denzel said that story telling caravans were usually held like this as an additional community bonding since it was a less formal set up compared to theaters.

Even those for children were scheduled at night since it would be even more of a memorable event for them after being allowed to stay outside after sunset. Of course, they would be joined by their parents or guardians.

The event for today though was for all ages so anyone who wanted to come join were gathered here.

Cut trees that had been affected by the disease were piled and stacked together and were lit. They were burning nicely while people gathered near it for the story telling caravan.

The bonfire was working as it should, giving warmth to the people as the upcoming winter gave chilly winds.

The magicians assigned here used magic to ensure the fire won’t change direction if a strong gust of wind passes by. Thus, the crew and the people gathered were safe from accidentally getting scalded. Even the smoke was guided upwards with magic.

Denzel’s face immediately brightened when he spotted her. He could not help but smile and pat his chest in relief before bowing in her direction.

Her other assistants realized why and instantly followed suit.

They were glad and relieved to have her and Ferdinand with them since their presence alone made the people behave, especially after all the scolding last time and the programs to be implemented here that were all funded by the imperial palace.

Marquess Sibruh bowed in their direction as well and announced to the people, "We are now in the presence of His and Her Majesty..."

The people rose and also bowed in their direction.

"At ease," Ferdinand said.

"We are only here to enjoy the story telling caravan prepared for tonight. We hope everyone enjoys it. My assistant Denzel Farrell, and the story telling caravan troupe did their best to prepare for this," Arabella said before getting seated.

With Arabella and Ferdinand seated, everyone did as well except for the knights and magicians assigned to be on guard.

With everyone here and the target number of participants for today’s event, even exceeded, the story telling caravan finally commenced. The crew creatively told and performed with various gimmicks approved to be told today.

The first story was the founding Myth of Valeria to share and remind the people of Valerian customs and values. It is likewise to reiterate that this territory is of Valeria now.

Second was the founding Myth of Sibruh. This was to remind the people of the efforts the Sibruh’s family’s ancestors had found here and how their sweat, blood, and tears were the reason Sibruh still exists today.

The crew performed well in showing how the first Sibruh family who came here toiled the barely possible to cultivate land and defend it from thieves and monsters alike at night. They also portrayed the difficult journey to find a good spot with water that can sustain them and their land.

And how various groups of people tried to attack and conquer them when they have finally become stable. They have finally become stable. They also showed how the Sibruh family bowed to a greater power, a former Valerian Emperor, despite lowering their royal rank, in exchange for the stability and safety of Sibru from outside attacks. They ended it happily ever after despite the current circumstances.

The Sibruh family, especially the Great Elder, were teary eyed as their story concluded. A lot of the people did as well as they were reminded of Sibruh’s difficult past.

The crew also brilliantly showed that the ancestors of the other nobles and people now were once travelers or people chased by bandits or monsters who came here for safety and were accepted and protected by the Sibruh family.

The commoners now were once homeless people or slaves from other territories who came here to escape and were all accepted by the Sibruh family since they were also an exiled family from another territory which was why they chose this location.

They changed for the better and made this a livable place. This story in particular made the people here realize just how much sacrifices the Sibruh family had made for them. They were the ninth generation now so some had forgotten that Sibruh was the territory they ran to and it accepted them despite their faults.

It was easy to say that their ancestors and great grandparents’ depths were not theirs, but without Sibruh taking them in, they would have never been born or were still slaves in another territory or living in the slums.
