Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 764: Meeting Before the War
CHAPTER 764: CHAPTER 764: MEETING BEFORE THE WAR
Thus, she needed a change of clothes since it would be inappropriate to attend the meeting in her current getup.
Ferdinand then walked her to her room and listened to reports from Alwin and Rendell as the maids helped Arabella get dressed. He also had Alwin heal her eyes so it would not be obvious that she cried earlier.
Right on time when Arabella was done dressing up, Riley came to give a report to Ferdinand.
"Your Majesty, they have gathered as you instructed."
"Good," Ferdinand nodded and glanced at Arabella. "Ready?"
"Yes," Arabella smiled confidently and Ferdinand offered his hand to escort her.
[She’s not even nervous about a meeting like this. Just how did they raise her in Lobelius? I thought they pampered her enough for her not to need to know about military affairs. And yet, look at her going to a meeting with another princess for military related activities. They even agreed on a revolution and a reform all on their own. She’s also willing to do the declaration of war and attack on Crux. Is this how they are raised nowadays? Maybe, Raymond’s information is outdated.] Ferdinand wondered.
Arabella stopped herself from chuckling when she heard his thoughts.
It was true that there were still a lot of princesses who were pampered and raised innocently without a clue about what was truly happening even in their own kingdom.
However, a lot were also raised to know the issues in their own nation so they could act accordingly when necessary.
Unlike other princesses who were raised only to think about themselves, Arabella was educated enough about their kingdom’s affairs. She was still sheltered enough though to grow up with her naive and idealistic notions of the world.
But even though she did not participate in military related things since Benjamin took care of it all, Arabella had lived her past life scheming military related affairs so she was not terrified to do it again now for a better purpose.
As for Princess Seraphina, she was a precious gem that Arabella did not wish to see getting tainted in a murky color out of hopelessness. She wanted to keep seeing the fire burn brightly in Princess Seraphina’s eyes.
Arabella admired Princess Seraphina’s courage. She had such a strong will to want to change the situation in Crux that had been existing ever since its founding.
Thus, she wished that Princess Seraphina and her twin would be able to usher the change they wanted in Crux.
"We’re here," Ferdinand brought back Arabella to the task at hand.
The doors were opened for them to the meeting hall.
[Her Majesty is attending this meeting as well?]
They were greeted by surprised gazes in the room when they saw Arabella with Ferdinand. Only the trusted ministers related to security and defense were invited in this meeting along with the Knight Commander and Raymond.
Even Raymond was surprised at seeing Arabella here since he did not hear she would be attending as well.
[Isn’t the meeting about war with Crux? I thought His Majesty did not want Her Majesty to be involved in matters like this so he warned me to remind him to return for the declaration of attack in case he forgets. Did he change his mind?]
"My Empress will be with us tonight to report crucial information she had gathered while I was away," Ferdinand said in response to their surprised looks.
"Yes, of course. Her Majesty is very much welcome," Raymond smiled and initiated the necessary greetings so the others followed suit.
"Thank you," Arabella smiled back.
[Did Her Majesty use her ability? But how would she be able to gather information about Crux. Don’t tell Alwin brought her to Crux without telling us? It’s too dangerous.] Raymond glanced at Alwin who avoided his gaze.
[What’s with that look?] Raymond gulped at Alwin’s reaction. [Damn. I’m the one who gets scolded if I didn’t even stop these two from doing dangerous things while His Majesty is away.]
{Hey, Alwin, you didn’t bring Her Majesty to Crux just to gather information did you? What if something happened to her? I can see that she’s safe but if she got hurt or traumatized in any way, we’re both dead.} Raymond communicated with Alwin telepathically.
{I’m not an idiot. I wouldn’t dare. She met with them at the Magic Tower. I would not bring her somewhere far when His Majesty can feel her presence.} Alwin countered.
{Why am I not aware of this then? You could have sent someone to inform me so I’m not out of the loop. How am I going to explain to His Majesty that I am not updated about this?} Raymond chided.
{Ah, I forgot since we were in a hurry. The meeting was just this afternoon. No need to fret though since Her Majesty already spoke with His Majesty not to scold us.} Alwin assured his elder.
Raymond glanced at Ferdinand and noted that he was indeed calm and was not exuding an excessively menacing aura that he would have if he was angry.
{[I guess it’s fine then. But next time, don’t forget to inform me.} Raymond relented.
Ferdinand then began speaking and gave a general about the situation in Sibruh and its neighboring territories afflicted by the pests and disease.
However, they did not dwell on the topic since their focus in this meeting was about the war with Crux.
"While I was busy, My Empress was contacted by Crux and she met with one of their Princesses. She gained valuable information we needed," Ferdinand began. "My Empress, please inform them as well."
"Yes, Your Majesty," Arabella then recounted the relevant information she gathered from her meeting with Princess Seraphina.
"The nobles were planning on using our own people against us?!" the Grand Knight Commander frowned.
"How despicable of them. How could they stoop so low as this," Raymond was also triggered when he heard of the nobles plan.
"It is indeed deplorable and vile. And this was why Princess Seraphina, who is also against it, had offered a proposal that will be beneficial for us," Arabella continued.
