Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 802: What Are All of You Doing Here?
CHAPTER 802: CHAPTER 802: WHAT ARE ALL OF YOU DOING HERE?
They did not speak about the rescue of the Prudencians at all since most of the ministers and household heads did not know it already commenced.
Instead, the ministers and household heads once again wanted to ask about what was going on in Sibruh and all the territories near it.
However, they did not dare ask since whoever asks the question would seem to be the most impatient, or could not understand instructions, after Arabella had said they would reveal it when the time was right.
Thus, the Court Session once again ended without them knowing about what was going on.
She knew though that they have to inform them soon before they reach the limit of patience.
After the Court Session, Arabella was set on heading to the Magic Tower to check on the rescued Prudencians.
"Shouldn’t you eat first? It’s lunch time and Alfredo said your food is ready," Alwin said.
"I’ll eat after checking on everyone. It will be just a few minutes. Just right for the food to cool down a bit but still remain warm," Arabella assured him.
Alwin eyed her from head to foot and said, "Tsk. So stubborn. I won’t hand you His Majesty’s letter until you are done eating then."
"He has a letter for me? Why didn’t you give it to me immediately? Hand it over now," Arabella extended her hand with an open palm, asking for it.
"You were in a hurry this morning since you had little time to prepare.
And I won’t hand it to you until after you eat.
Didn’t I tell you that he said you should not attend the Court Session and just rest?
But you still did anyway.
Now, if you don’t go to sleep after eating, I won’t hand his letter to you either," Alwin said while showing her an envelope with Ferdinand’s letter.
"What? Since when are you allowed to withhold his letters to me? Give me that," Arabella tried to snatch it but he lifted his hand and she could not reach it even when she tried to jump.
Alwin had an amused look on his face when she could not reach it at all.
In frustration, before she realized it, Arabella thought out loud, "Ugh. Damn it. Why are you so tall?!"
[Did Her Majesty just curse?!
It had such a bite to it too.
Is she furious?!
Should I get the letter for her?
But I’m just her guard.] Rendell thought and Arabella flinched when she realized she said her thoughts aloud.
[Haha. Her Majesty looks so cute getting all embarrassed after saying the curse word first. Who would have thought she could curse with such a bite. His Majesty just missed such a funny scene.]
Arabella froze when she heard Raymond’s thoughts too and realized he had arrived and heard her curse as well.
"I... I... That was just," Arabella covered her face with her hands in embarrassment.
"Alwin, what are you doing?
Don’t be naughty.
Since when were you allowed to delay His Majesty’s letters to Her Majesty?" Raymond said and snatched it from Alwin. He handed the envelope to Arabella.
"Thank you!" Arabella was now glad Raymond came. She smiled at him and stuck a tongue out at Alwin while Raymond and Rendell were not looking.
[Why you?!] Alwin glared at her and earned a reprimanding look from Raymond.
"Alwin, aren’t you becoming too forward with Her Majesty?" Raymond said.
[It’s good that they seem to be getting along well for Alwin to let his guard down this much but it’s becoming worrisome. He’s not even treating her as the Empress at times.]
"Humph. I’m just trying to make sure she eats on time and rests properly as His Majesty asked," Alwin harumped and folded his hands in front of his chest.
"Even so," Raymond chided.
Now, Alwin looked like the stubborn child who was getting reprimanded.
"Fine. If she doesn’t eat on time today and doesn’t rest well, it will be your fault. I’ll tell His Majesty it was your fault," Alwin countered and Raymond stopped.
[He had learned to counter so well.] Raymond sighed.
"Your Majesty, please eat on time and rest well," Raymond said with pleading eyes.
"Yes, of course. Thank you for retrieving the letter and handing it to me," Arabella assured him.
"Let’s go check on the situation quickly then," Raymond said and asked Alwin to teleport them.
They went to the room for the second step first where those who were still ill were getting treated by doctors.
Nadia was no longer there since she had gone to rest as well.
All of them were getting tended well so Arabella headed to the next room.
"Huh? What are all of them doing here? Didn’t I tell them to rest?" Arabella was surprised to see her assistants were here helping to distribute food.
Oscar, Egbert, Norbert, and Ronald noticed her first and bowed. They scratched the back of their head and approached her.
"Why are you here? Didn’t I tell you to rest for today?" Arabella inquired in a low voice.
"Ah, that’s... We woke up a few hours ago and could not sit still so we decided to head here," Norbert explained.
Felix, Denzel, and Narcissa also saw her and immediately headed in her direction.
"Why are you here? I told you to rest, right?" Arabella asked the same question and the three glanced at each other debating with their eyes on who would answer.
Felix lost in their glaring contest and was the one who replied, "We wanted to continue helping, Your Majesty. We had nothing to do anyway so instead of wondering how they are doing, we decided to come and see them. And we decided to help out."
Arabella listened to their thoughts to verify it and it was true.
"I see. Alright then. Since you are already here, do your best," Arabella relented.
She figured they must have kept feeling concerned and wondering about everyone’s situation when they woke up so she just let them be.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," they all bowed in unison.
