CHAPTER 813: CHAPTER 813: STILL YOUNG CHILDREN IN THEIR EYES

{Raymond, something went wrong. Alwin might be in danger. He might be injured as well since he ran out of mana and is fighting in close range.} Zion contacted Raymond telepathically.

{What?! I’ll be there in a bit.}

Raymond was in the palace waiting for reports while working on documents that needed to be signed immediately.

The usual workload is still there despite the war.

Valeria is a vast place after all.

In a few minutes, Raymond indeed arrived. He greeted Arabella and immediately asked about the situation.

Meanwhile, Ronald and Blanca bowed and greeted Raymond.

"What happened? I thought Alwin had already returned here," Raymond inquired calmly but with alert eyes.

Raymond also knew Alwin should have been able to do his task in a few minutes so he should have been here for a while now.

"We are not sure yet either.

He summoned Riley to go to Marquess Heron’s residence while he remained in the Alba estate," Zion began explaining.

"He did? But Riley was tasked to lead the search party," Raymond frowned.

"Indeed. We figured he would not change plans without notice in a situation like this so we tried contacting him but he did not respond when I tried talking to him.

However, he responded to Her Majesty through the summoning ring.

He must have heard me but did not respond since if he did, it would have used up a lot of mana from such a distance," Zion continued.

Raymond frowned and said, "Didn’t he bring potions with him? I even reminded him this morning."

Zion glanced at Arabella and she retold Raymond what Alwin told her, "He brought recovery potions with him but he already drunk it all."

"Then it seems he is indeed in a tricky situation. He shouldn’t have stayed there if he knew he would be out of mana soon. That brat, we repeatedly taught him to prioritize his life and escape when necessary if he knew he could not win," Raymond shook his head in disapproval and rubbed his temples.

[He can call His Eminence a brat?!]

Ronald was still surprised even if he knew now that Raymond was not his real brother, he still kept getting surprised with things.

[Haha. It’s his turn to be called a brat.]

Blanca was rather delighted to hear Alwin being talked about by His Elders and referred to as a brat since Alwin had repeatedly addressed her as a brat.

"With his capacity, Alwin is too used to using mana freely without having to worry it runs out. Hence, he’s not wary of it happening most of the time. Especially since he only experienced it once since he came here," Zion sighed. "Perhaps, I should go and pick him up indeed. You are here with Her Majesty anyway."

"Don’t. Alwin is too prideful.

He would rather die than be saved by you.

Especially since he insisted on replacing you.

If you go there and help him out, he would once again think he is still lacking.

You know how his mind works.

He’s too strict on himself so he’s likely checking how long he would last there," Raymond pointed out.

Arabella thought about it and Raymond was right.

Alwin would likely tell Zion that he did not need to go there.

But was it better to take care of Alwin’s pride than his safety?

"His presence is still as strong and as bright as usual so he must still be fine. If it dims and weakens, only then can you go to him," Raymond added.

"I hope it doesn’t come to that. After Alwin went missing last time, there are a lot of people monitoring him right now. His Majesty would surely feel his presence weakening and might return here," Zion rubbed the back of his neck.

"Ah indeed. Alvis and the Overseer are likely monitoring him closely as well," Raymond agreed. "Since you have done what he asked for, he should come back once the opportunity arises. Or perhaps," Raymond paused and glanced at Arabella.

"What is it?" Arabella asked since Raymond hesitated to say it.

He had a mischievous look on his face so she could tell it was one of Raymond’s ways of keeping the arrogant people around him in check (Alwin, Ferdinand, etc...).

"I was thinking, it should be fine if it’s Your Majesty who orders him to return here immediately, not us," Raymond found the loophole.

Raymond had been with them for so long that he knew exactly what to do or say to make them bend. He’s quite a resourceful one.

"Oh, that’s right! I should contact him again," Arabella perked up and smirked at Raymond’s suggestion. He was right after all.

If it’s her, Alwin was not trying to maintain his pride or image since he did not really care about what she thought about him.

"Hayss. That child can be such a handful to even trouble Your Majesty like this," Zion sighed deeply.

"Haha. It’s alright," Arabella chuckled.

"Pfft..." Blanca covered her mouth as she could not help but laugh as well when she heard Zion’s remark.

"Kids, you better not copy that brat. He just grew up a bit and he’s being so stubborn," Zion glanced at Blanca and Ronald.

"K-kids?" Ronald was shocked to be called a kid.

"Well, Blanca can be a kid now. But Ronald is still a newborn," Zion continued and Ronald gasped.

"I’m not," Ronald defended himself.

Raymond chuckled since Ronald looked cute when he’s embarrassed.

"This man here is several millennia old so don’t mind him. He can’t help but reminisce," Raymond assured their youngsters.

"You talk as if you’re not one as well," Zion pointed out.

"Don’t be like that. My younger brother is here. I haven’t told him how old I truly am exactly. And probably never would," Raymond teased Ronald a bit as well.

[Does Her Majesty know their real age?] Ronald glanced at Arabella for help but she shook her head.

She did not know either since they do not even really think about how old they truly were. She just knew they were at least 16 millennia old.
