CHAPTER 823: CHAPTER 823: SOMEONE WHO CAN SAVE PEOPLE

Alwin might indeed need to learn that lesson by experience since he still wants to keep pushing himself even after what happened today.

It was admirable to see him so motivated and dedicated to his tasks but it was also worrisome.

Still, it was better to let him do as he pleases until he learns a lesson himself than make him feel like he was useless baggage for not doing more when he could.

However, Alwin needed to learn to prioritize his own safety.

It was true that he could help as long as he was able but not to the point of putting himself in danger consecutively when he was already in bad condition.

Thus, Raymond decided it was best to let Alwin learn it for himself.

Arabella did not interfere either and let it be.

After all, no matter what they said, Alwin would not truly grasp it to heart until he experienced it himself and finally understood why his elders had to scold him for being reckless.

It was just a few minutes ago when he was puking blood but here he was volunteering to heal the Prudencians again.

Of course, the rescued Prudencians were grateful for getting miraculously healed from injuries they thought they would never recover from.

But right now, it was harmful to Alwin’s health to keep emptying his mana after already taking more than ten recovery potions, using a forbidden spell, and losing two mana cores.

"Alvis would likely lose his mind even more but let’s let him be the one to scold Alwin this time. He barely gets the chance to do so anyway," Raymond chuckled softly.

Alwin avoided Alvis so he barely got chances to be with him or scold him when he does something he should be scolded about.

"I see. Alright then," Arabella agreed.

Raymond took his leave and returned to the palace to take care of other work. If he stayed here, Alwin would think he would have more mana supply for free.

Since Alwin had mostly depleted his mana and relied on recovery potions and shared mana now, Raymond had to reserve his mana in case there was an attack in Riva.

In case there was a need to fortify the barriers Alwin had placed, Raymond’s mana would be used as emergency supply or for when Raymond would have to fight in person.

While Raymond was busy in the palace, Arabella monitored things in the Magic Tower.

The magicians arrived consecutively with more rescued Prudencians to heal so Alwin kept healing until he puked blood once again.

"Your Eminence, please rest and recover first. You have repeatedly overused your mana," the other magicians pleaded.

"No, I’m fine. Give me a recovery potion," Alwin asked.

The magicians hesitated but handed Alwin one due to the look in his eyes.

’Raymond is right. We have to let Alwin be until he learns his lesson the hard way,’ Arabella sighed deeply.

It made her heart jump from her chest in nervousness and worry every time Alwin coughed up blood but he was so insistent to keep going so she held back.

Instead, she wrote instructions on a piece of paper so Alwin won’t hear her. She handed it to Blanca and Ronald who were also watching the scene in front of them with pained expressions.

Blanca

Be ready to make a bed here for Alwin in case he collapses and loses consciousness.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Blanca nodded and bowed as she read Arabella’s instructions.

She once again watched Alwin who drank another recovery potion.

[Even if it’s him, it’s not good to keep drinking recovery potions. Why is he so stubborn? His parents and a lot of his people were killed because of humans. Why is he going this far for them?]

Blanca bit at her lips in frustration and worry as she watched Alwin and could not do anything about his behavior.

Arabella glanced at Ronald and handed him her note as well.

***

Ronald

Be alert. Be prepared to run to His Eminence’s side and support him when he looks like he might pass out.

Carry him here in case he passes out.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Ronald bowed his head.

[His Eminence is so dedicated and hardworking. No wonder he is the Master of the Magic Tower. Even though brother and Sir Zion says he is still young, he prioritizes the people so selflessly. How can he go this far for people he doesn’t even know?]

Ronald did not know about Alwin’s full story so he did not understand why Alwin would go this far.

Arabella knew so she understood Alwin could not help but give it his all due to his past and his feeling of gratefulness and indebtedness to Ferdinand after he helped him when he was young and raised him to be this capable.

However, Alwin did not really need to endanger himself too much.

Healing the Prudencians could be done at a staggered basis.

The external wound would come first and as long as there’s no more bleeding and other immediate issues, they could be healed in the following days instead.

Yet, Alwin keeps healing them just like the others the previous days even when it took a lot of his mana.

[His Majesty healed me regardless of who I was... He did not even know I’m a prince of the elves back then...]

Alwin’s eyes were looking at his past injured self as he healed the Prudencians.

A helpless little child cornered as everyone around him who protected him were killed.

But just when he thought he would die too, Ferdinand came to save him from everything without even asking any questions.

Alwin never forgot that feeling.

The hopelessness and desperation.

And the immense feeling of gratitude that followed him until now even when no one was asking him to give back what he had received.

It was also why when they met Dimo, he would not have been able to just leave him behind either even if Arabella did not help Dimo.

Alwin could not help but feel attached to Dimo as well since he saw himself in the child.

And now, it was as if Alwin was desperate to prove that he was no longer the helpless little child but someone who could save people as well.
