CHAPTER 824: CHAPTER 824: YOU CAN REST NOW

And now, it was as if Alwin was desperate to prove that he was no longer the helpless little child but someone who could save people as well.

’Hayyss,’ Arabella sighed deeply. ’And here he says I’m the one who’s too kind. It’s him.’

Even if Alwin was doing this for self-satisfaction and to heal his inner child, this was still too much kindness.

He kept telling her not to be too kind but he was the one being too kind.

Other people would always prioritize their safety, their needs, and their wellbeing. But Alwin barely does that.

He was even living this second life solely dedicated to ensuring Ferdinand would be happy in this life.

Alwin had learned not to always obey Ferdinand or follow him around but he was still too selfless.

He was only selfish when it came to his experiments.

And thank goodness he had that innate curiosity and interest or else he would have been living his whole life for someone else instead of himself.

Arabella noted not to bother him when he was experimenting and let him experiment as he pleases since it was the only thing he does for himself.

Well, as long as it’s not an experiment using his own blood or body parts though since his uncle might go nuts.

More rescued Prudencians were brought in and Alwin kept healing them until Arabella and everyone else could tell through his eyes that he could barely see anymore. He had already coughed up blood repeatedly.

"Ronald," Arabella reminded her assistant to prepare.

Ronald had the build of a knight so carrying Alwin would not be difficult for him either.

"Your Eminence, please rest," the magicians plead once again. Even the doctors and the patients themselves could tell something was wrong with Alwin.

He had not moved from the spot he stood on and simply healed everyone from there.

Arabella and the others knew it was because he was already too dizzy to move or see every one.

"Recovery potion," Alwin extended his hand from where he could tell the presence of his comrade was but could barely make out their figure.

"Y-Your Eminence, please continue healing everyone else later. We can heal the other injuries and doctors will tend to the others until we can have more magicians with us. Please don;t strain yourself anymore," another magician pleaded.

"I can still go on. Recovery potion," Alwin demanded.

[I’m not so weak to stop here. I can heal more. It’s just healing. How hard could it be? I can hold on until it’s over.]

Alwin was so stubborn even in his thoughts.

Blanca was already getting teary eyed from watching him. She wanted to go out there and drag Alwin back here so he would finally stop but they were all clear with what Raymond said.

They were to let Alwin pass out so he learns his lesson.

Thus, since Alwin was insistent so his fellow magician gave him another potion.

Alwin was once again able to heal but his complexion did not improve at all. And his mind was a fuzzy mess from potion overdose.

The recovery potions should not be drunk consecutively. They were supposed to be reserved for emergency purposes. Thus, too much is also not good for the body even for Alwin.

[What the hell?

Is this my limit?

Am I this weak?

No, I cannot allow this.

I should heal all the others.

My comrades are still fighting in the battlefield while I’m safe here.

I have to do my part.

Her Majesty is in my barrier so she would be safe.

Rendell’s with her too.

Even if I’m out of mana after this, she should be fine.

I have fortified all the protective barriers here before the war began.

There should be no problems.]

Arabella gulped with a lump in throat.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Alwin still had the time to worry for her when he could not even see from emptying his mana and drinking too much recovery potions when he’s not used to it.

She wanted to order him to stop being so stubborn and return here now and rest but she had agreed to Raymond’s words.

They had to harden their hearts as they watched Alwin suffer.

Alwin drank two more recovery potions and on the last one, he coughed up blood and had a nosebleed as well.

[Huh? Why can’t I see anything? Their presence is vanishing...] Alwin’s eyes began to roll back to its sockets as his body could no longer take it.

"Ronald!" Arabella said and Ronald was out of the barrier at the same time and dashed to Alwin’s side.

"Your Eminence?" Ronald supported Alwin at first since Alwin tried to remain standing.

"I’m fine... Why is everyone gone?" Alwin asked as his senses dulled.

"We will be fine, Your Eminence. Please rest first," even the rescued Prudencians were alarmed and could not help but tell him to stop as well.

They were already very much grateful with how far the other magicians had healed their injuries.

"You did well, Your Eminence. Everyone is grateful for your efforts. You can stop now," Arabella got out of the barrier as well since Alwin was still being stubborn even as he was barely conscious.

Rendell closely followed her.

"You are not alone anymore.

Everyone is here, after all.

Leave the rest to everyone.

You can rest now," Arabella assured him and covered Alwin’s eyes since he still kept trying to see.

She said the words she knew were appropriate from the thoughts he had been having in his hazy drugged state.

"I.. can... rest?..." Alwin asked weakly in a low voice and his resistance weakened.

"Of course," Arabella assured him and held his hand with her free one since he still tried to free himself from Ronald.

"Of course, you can!

Everyone can rest.

Only an arrogant idiot will push himself like this," Blanca held his other hand tightly.

Blanca’s tears were escaping her eyes in torrents.
