CHAPTER 829: CHAPTER 829: JUST PREPARING HIM

Alvis was silenced at that as he contemplated.

When he spoke again, he said, "Then let’s at least bring him to Estrella where he can recover more quickly."

Worried about Alwin’s health, everyone glanced at Raymond hoping he would say yes.

"No. We are not healing him fully so he would know how hard it is to recover from this especially when he’s not in a place where he could easily recover.

If he knows we will heal him immediately anyway or take him to Estrella, he will keep doing these things."

Raymond was stern and set on his decision. Seeing Alwin keep pushing himself today truly made him think they needed to let Alwin see what happens if he was not careful of himself.

"Why are you so mean to my nephew?! Are you afraid he will take your place next?" ALvis asked with gritted teeth.

"I don’t mind him taking my place if he’s ready. But with how reckless he is right now, he’s not yet ready. And I need to be this mean because of what he did today. Why won’t you see it for yourself so you’ll understand," Raymond said to Alvis and gestured to Zion.

Zion sighed and said a spell, a magic orb appeared out of nowhere and showed a sped up recording of what transpired here today until Alwin collapsed.

’They were monitoring this palace with magic?!’ Arabella did not know about this.

It meant Alwin would know later that she got out of his barrier.

Still, she could reason it was a necessity. And Rendell was with her the whole time so there should be no problems.

Alvis was silenced after watching the recording.

"Why is going this far? What is he so obsessed about?!" Alvis did not know Ferdinand had used fifteen mana cores to save Alwin when he was young.

"His Majesty used fifteen manacores to save Alwin when he was young. Alwin recently learned about it so he must be feeling even more pressured to achieve great things now. " Raymond revealed and Alvis paled.

"W-what?! I didn’t know about this. A Primordial Dragon’s mana core is so much stronger than others. And15 was used to save Alwin back when he was just a toddler?" Alvis was shocked by this new information.

[Argh! This is exactly why I wanted him to explain why he did not send Alwin to us or at least informed me that Alwin was in his care. He could have told me about something this important.]

Alvis gripped at his gorgeous silky hair in frustration.

Ferdinand apparently refused to explain to Alvis and simply said he did not know Alwin was of royalty and thought he was just a normal elf.

After all, before Ferdinand fell asleep, there were a lot of elves who had a lot of mana even while young. Alwin still stood out though when compared to the others.

Likewise, Ferdinand had just been forcefully woken up that time so his memory was still a mess. Even now, after several millennia, there were still a lot of things he could not recall and might never be able to remember.

"What are you going to do if Alwin doesn’t stop being reckless until he donates 15 mana cores too? What are we going to do if we find him barely alive next time?" Raymond asked and Alvis tensed.

"No way! Losing two mana cores in a single day is more than enough. Why would Alwin need to sacrifice more?!" Alvis gritted his teeth.

"Exactly. We are not asking for him to go that far nor does His Majesty. But no matter what we had been trying to say to him when we could, he still keeps trying to prove himself repeatedly. And now, he went as far as this."

Raymond sighed deeply, gently letting the back of his fingers touch Alwin’s face to check his temperature.

[He’s burning up. I feel bad seeing him like this but I must be stern. Alwin’s gone too far this time. He just went missing last time and now that he’s back he’s doing all these risky things again.]

"You can only heal his fever. Leave the rest for him to feel when he’s conscious," Raymond concluded.

"Fine. But on one condition," Alvis finally agreed.

"What is it?" Raymond was relieved Alvis no longer insisted. But now he was worried what Alvis would ask for.

"Alwin has to return with me to Estrella. If he doesn’t, I’m not going back either," Alvis said and everyone froze.

’No! Alwin would be even more down if he’s forced to return there!’ Arabella was alarmed.

The time Alwin thought he was getting dismissed by Ferdinand, he was horrified and was ready to beg so he could stay here.

Moreover, Alwin was her only ally who knew about their past life.

Her actions would seem suspicious to the others if she asked them of the things she secretly asks Alwin to investigate for her.

"I don’t think I can agree on that. His Majesty decides whether Alwin stays here or not," Raymond did not agree.

’Yes, that’s it. You shouldn’t agree,’ Arabella sighed in relief at Raymond’s response.

"And you should have seen his face when he thought His Majesty was making him return to Estrella for good," Raymond also recalled the times Alwin thought he was getting dismissed. "He cried. Are you going to make him cry?"

"No! That’s not what I meant. I just want him to go with me for some time. I’ll teach him how to free the souls of the dead without using physical weapons so he won’t be in danger if he encounters necromancers again," Alvis clarified.

’Oh, that’s what he meant,’ Arabella and everyone else sighed in relief.

"I see. If that’s the case, then it should be fine. Now that necromancers are back, equipping Alwin immediately with that is indeed for the best," Raymond agreed to Alvis’ condition this time. "But Alwin is still assigned to guard Her Majesty so we need His Majesty’s permission first."

"That’s fine with me. I’m sure he understands how important it is for Alwin to learn this. If I hadn’t arrived, there would have been casualties on your side," Alvis said confidently.
