CHAPTER 830: CHAPTER 830: AS PROMISED

"That’s fine with me. I’m sure he understands how important it is for Alwin to learn this. If I hadn’t arrived, there would have been casualties on your side," Alvis said confidently.

"Yes, of course. We are grateful for your help," Raymond was back to smiling politely.

"Hmph," Alvis did not accept Raymond’s thanks and simply tilted his head to the side and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

He was still annoyed at Raymond for preventing him from fully healing Alwin back to usual health.

Raymond did not mind Alvis’ behavior though since he knew it was coming when he stopped the latter.

"I’m going to tell Alwin you were the one who prevented me from healing him," Alvis sighed deeply as he let his hand rest on Alwin’s forehead and cured his fever.

[Why do you have to go this far? I even asked you if you needed help but you said you didn’t. And now, here you are.]

Alvis was pained even more that Alwin did not want to rely on him even when he offered help.

Arabella learned from Alvis’ thoughts that when he felt Alwin’s first few drops of blood on the soil, he contacted Alwin and asked if he needed help but Alwin did not reply until the nth time Alvis asked.

Alvis thought Alwin intentionally ignored him. But it was probably just Alwin not having enough mana.

Alwin must have only had the chance to reply after he drank recovery potions from the other magicians they sent to him.

Further, it must have been after he had already used up a mana core to use the forbidden spell to freeze Emily.

Asking Alvis for help after he had already done that much when he was trying to hide the spell he used must not have sat right with Alwin which was why he refused.

But if he was in a truly dire situation where his life was in danger, he would have accepted the help.

Arabella figured Alwin was still sure he would survive the current events which was why he did not ask for help.

Moreover, Alwin was a prideful being.

Arabella surmised that Alwin must have thought of it this way: he refused to go to his uncle’s abode and inherit the throne so why should he accept his help now?

She wanted to clarify Alvis’ misunderstanding but he was having his moment with Alwin so she did not dare disturb.

Alvis was so focused on Alwin that he barely even saw her here. Thus, she kept quiet and did not disturb them.

"Ah, by the way, Her Majesty is here," Zion whispered to Alvis when he had calmed down and was peacefully sitting beside Alwin’s bed.

"She is?!" Alvis froze and immediately looked around. He was wide-eyed when he realized Arabella had indeed been here the whole time.

"Why didn’t you tell me immediately?!" Alvis whispered back at Zion but it was audible enough in the silent barrier.

It turned out Alvis did not notice her presence at all because he only saw Alwin earlier and the rest was just a blur.

Alvis immediately rose and greeted her formally as the Empress of Valeria before he said, "My apologies for that unseemly display and for not greeting you properly earlier. I was so worried about Alwin that I forgot about everything else."

"It’s alright. I understand," Arabella smiled.

Alvis sighed in relief at her response.

[She’s still the same as ever. If her appearance is not slightly different, it’s easy to mistake her as the late Fairy Queen. Still, why is she still awake? Should humans be asleep at this hour?]

"You must have been working this whole time. It’s late into the night, Your Majesty. You should rest now that the war is over," Alvis was the one who delivered the victory news to her.

"It’s over?" Arabella inquired and glanced at Zion.

Zion and the others hadn’t had the chance to report yet because of the commotion earlier.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Zion gave a victory smile and finally reported what happened.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the war was an overwhelming win for Valeria.

Valerian knights had surrounded Crux for a while now so escape was not possible.

A part of the knights deployed to surround the borders also began their tasks to search for possible hidden Prudencians in every home and property in Crux and they gave signals to the search party magicians when they found Prudencians whether dead or alive.

There were also a lot of injured among Valerian knights and soldiers due to the presence of undead soldiers, however, they suffered no casualty thanks to their numbers and strength.

Likewise, Alvis and Zion and the others who immediately healed those who were in critical condition.

Weapons from Estrella did not need to be retrieved either thanks to Alvis who stopped all the undead from rampaging thanks to the new magic spell he had made.

The necromancers were all caught as well and all the resources where they learned necromancy were confiscated. Any of their students were also caught and imprisoned in the Magic Tower for further questioning.

Meanwhile, the Queen of Crux and her children who tried to escape with a magician were all caught and imprisoned in the Magic Tower as well.

The King of Crux voluntarily surrendered when he saw their crushing defeat.

All noble household leaders who pushed for the war to push through were caught and imprisoned.

Their punishment would be dealt as agreed upon in the meeting Ferdinand and Arabella had with the ministers and elders.

The Crux Palace was now occupied by the Grand Knight Commander of the Imperial Knights and Duke Theodore of Prudencia for overseeing the punishments of all the pro-slavery faction who were caught.

"We are still investigating the matter about the necromancers. We will report further if we find more information," Zion explained.

Arabella and Raymond nodded and sighed in relief at the good news they received.

"Thank you for your efforts. You all did well. Please send my regards to everyone who participated in this as well," Arabella smiled.

She knew the Prudencians must be joyful and overwhelmed by this news.

Valeria had avenged them as promised.

a/n:

Finally done with Crux Arc. Lol.

It took longer than I thought since it’s harder to write everything on paper or type and edit it all.

I had this part planned like a year ago and I was only able to finish it now.

The plan and the ideas are always there but the hardest part is truly writing it all in detail instead of just giving a summary.

But yeah, I can’t go into detail anymore on the other parts of the war so I’m closing Crux Arc in the next Chapter.

Thank you for your support everyone!
