CHAPTER 862: CHAPTER 862: MODEST

’Ah, so that’s what he’s worried about...’

Arabella had heard from Alwin that in their past life, they had a hard time stopping Ferdinand when he’s furious or hurt, and he goes to Estrella to vent.

"Rest assured. I have already made up my mind," she assured him and he smiled.

Arabella conversed with Alvis a bit more before saying her goodbyes so she could prepare for her date with Ferdinand tonight.

Arabella knew her husband was extremely busy at the moment with all the goings on, so she took it upon herself to be the one to prepare for their date.

’Now that I thought about it, it’s usually Ferdinand who prepares for our dates. I should also surprise him, even if just for a bit.’

Since Ferdinand would likely leave immediately, a simple date in her chambers should suffice.

They have not seen each other for a while so privacy was more important this time.

If she set up a date outdoors, who knows if they would be able to hold back or not. She would rather not have everyone see them making out.

Just thinking about it made her feel embarrassed. Thus, she concluded her room was the best venue. After all, Ferdinand had said he would visit her room tonight.

Arabella was just about to head to her chambers when she recalled how Ferdinand looked earlier.

He was visibly exhausted.

"Let’s drop by the kitchen," Arabella said and Rendell nodded.

The chefs stopped what they were doing upon seeing her and said, "Greetings to Her Majesty."

"Please be at ease and continue what you’re doing," Arabella smiled.

She glanced at Alfredo and he immediately stepped forward to speak with her.

"How may we help you, Your Majesty?"

"His Majesty came to visit Alwin and he’s now in a meeting with His Excellency. Please bring them some refreshments. Something that relieves exhaustion," Arabella instructed.

Alfredo looked surprised at her last phrase but immediately responded, "Yes, Your Majesty."

[The situation must have gotten worse if His Majesty looked tired enough for Her Majesty to notice.]

Alfredo was also updated with the goings every now and then so he knew about the plant disease.

[Something from Estrella should work best for His Majesty...]

Alfredo began thinking about a mix of herbs and fruit juice he would add to Ferdinand’s drink.

Arabella did not know what those were since all of it was from Estrella. Thus, she left for her chambers so Alfredo and the other chefs could work at ease.

Once in her chambers, she checked for the perfect spot for their date.

The balcony seemed to be nice. They could either watch the sunset if he arrived early or watch the stars together if he came deep into the night.

"Eunice, His Majesty and I will have a dinner date here tonight. Please have this area prepared. I’m not sure what time exactly he will be able to leave work, but it’s best to be ready by sunset. Oh, and please tell Alfredo to prepare Ferdinand’s favorite meals. I’ll eat those as well, just with smaller servings," Arabella instructed.

During dates prepared by Ferdinand, most food served on their table was usually to Arabella’s taste.

Thus, this time, she wanted Ferdinand’s preferences more.

Arabella listed some things on how she wanted the set up and handed it to Eunice as well.

"Yes, Your Majesty. We will work on it immediately," Eunice replied and headed out to inform the others.

’As for my dress and sleepwear...’ Arabella headed to her dressing room.

Just as she was looking around for a dress to wear, there was a light knock.

"Your Majesty, I came to help with your outfit."

It was Carla.

"You may enter."

Arabella figured her maids divided the tasks among them and Carla won in getting the role to dress her up.

With Renee gone, there were less fights among the maids about what’s the best dress or jewelry Arabella should use. However, her maids still debate about it every now and then so they alternated dressing her up.

On sudden events like this, they play a short game and the one who wins gets to dress her up.

And it was indeed clear on the smile of victory on Carla’s face that she indeed won.

Carla helped Arabella pick her outfit for the date and the former indeed had good taste.

However, when it comes to the nightwear...

"NO. I will never wear this. Since when did I have such things in my wardrobe?!"

Arabella frowned at Carla and did not even want to look at the things the latter was showing her so she turned around.

"Hehe. Fret not, Your Majesty. We ordered this in secret without mentioning you. But rest assured, all the measurements, colors, and design are tailored for Your Majesty. Irene and I personally checked everything," Carla said with a mischievous grin on her face.

But that was not the only problem.

"Your Majesty, this is the perfect night gown after a dinner date," Carla sprung up in front of Arabella and showed her the lewd thing once again.

Arabella frowned at it in disgust.

"This cannot even be considered a nightgown! It shows almost everything and has holes where it shouldn’t!"

Arabella was horrified even just at the thought of ever wearing it. It was too thin, showy, and improper.

She knew she didn’t have to be too proper at night in her bedroom alone with Ferdinand. But this one was too embarrassing to wear.

It was as if she was begging to be pounced and ravaged. And she might look like a pervert too desperate for lustful attention.

"Your Majesty, this is already quite tame compared to the others. This is the first time so we are keeping it modest for now."

"You call that thing modest?!"

Arabella gawked at Carla and to the section of her wardrobe she didn’t know existed.

It was clearly a recently added section.

Arabella walked to it to check and was horrified to find an even worse kind of ’nightgowns’ than the one Carla was asking her to wear.

So far, the one Carla was holding was indeed the most tame when compared to the others.

"Why did you order these? It’s a waste of resources. I don’t need these things," Arabella chided.
