Zhou Yunmei saw the fierceness on Fang Pingying’s face and felt a bit timid inside, but still retorted defiantly, "Humph, you think your threats scare me?"

Luo Zhiyong said indifferently, "You wanted to leave a backup for Luo Zhiming, right? I think there might be a chance now."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yunmei immediately walked into the room.

When Zhou Yunmei entered the room, Xu He was already too ashamed to show her face, huddled completely under the blankets, while Shuanzi sat on the bed with just a pillow covering his lower body, his upper body bare.

From the outside, it was clear that there was a big lump under the blanket on the bed; Zhou Yunmei could tell that there was someone inside, and everyone knew that person had to be Xu He.

"I walked into the wrong room," Shuanzi had no shame and casually dismissed the incident as nothing serious. After saying so, he turned to Luo Zhiyong at the door, "Luo Zhiyong, whatever happens in your family has nothing to do with me. Now that I’ve seen the show, and you’ve called who you needed to, hand me my clothes, I’m leaving."

Shuanzi was irrelevant to Luo Zhiyong anyway, so he kicked the clothes left outside back to him.

While Shuanzi was getting dressed, Zhou Yunmei, anxious, began to lift the blanket. Once she confirmed the person under it was Xu He, Zhou Yunmei was utterly confused, staring at Xu He, baffled, "What exactly happened here?"

To be caught in bed in front of so many people, especially in the presence of Luo Zhiyong and Fang Pingying, was utterly mortifying for Xu He.

Zhou Yunmei was utterly stunned as she looked at Xu He, who was without a thread of clothing under the blanket.

Luo Zhiyong saw this and shouted at Zhou Yunmei, "Let me explain. What you wanted to happen has happened, but it was him instead of you, get it?"

"You..." Zhou Yunmei now completely understood, or perhaps she had already understood but couldn’t bring herself to believe it, considering Xu He was Luo Zhiming’s wife. The idea of her being involved with a loan shark was unbearable.

But Luo Zhiyong’s words forced her to face it. She turned her head, stared at Xu He for a full three seconds, then suddenly reached out to hit her, hysterically shouting, "You shameless bitch, how could you do this, with another man here..."

If it had been any other day, Xu He would have fought back, never minding the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship.

But today she was at a disadvantage, and could only endure Zhou Yunmei’s beating while pleading softly from under the blanket, "Mom, stop hitting me first, get my clothes, let me explain, it’s not what you think."

Zhou Yunmei, fueled by anger, continuously slapped Xu He’s face, shouting, "I should get clothes for you? I’m going to beat you to death today, you whore."

"Mom, I’m begging you, hit me or scold me all you want, just bring me my clothes first, how can I even speak like this..." Xu He’s voice was intermittent, with a hint of crying. Though Fang Pingying and others outside couldn’t see the situation, it was truly the first time they saw Xu Enhe so humiliated.

Eventually, Zhou Yunmei had enough of hitting her. Seeing Xu He’s cheeks swollen and face scratched with blood by her nails, she vented some of her anger. Pointing at Xu He, she panted, "Fine, I’ll get your clothes. I want to see what you have to say."

With that, Zhou Yunmei intended to fetch the clothes that Luo Zhiyong had kicked out earlier.

However, as Zhou Yunmei was picking up the clothes for Xu He at the door, she saw Shuanzi dressing up by the bed. Zhou Yunmei blinked and suddenly thought of an idea.

She tossed the clothes she had picked up for Xu He back, suddenly grabbed Shuanzi whose clothes were not fully on yet, and yelled, "Wait, don’t go, I have something to clarify with you."

Shuanzi, startled by Zhou Yunmei, pushed her away harshly and asked ferociously, "What do you want?"

Shuanzi was naturally burly and rugged in features, clearly not a good character, now appearing somewhat like a fierce ghost.

Seeing this, Zhou Yunmei was frightened, but remembering her plan, she still boldly held onto Shuanzi, glaring at him, "You took advantage of my daughter-in-law like that, and you think you can just walk away?"
