CHAPTER 37: UPGRADING NEW SKILLS.

Once the outcome of the battle was decided, Maria was made to be the first commander of the entire military division of over 200 soldiers.

In addition to this, Dorian went ahead to create two inner divisions tasked with other management pertaining to the military team.

The first division was led by the second commander, Jordan. And the third division, led by the third commander, Exclor, a master-ranked mage-class soldier.

With this, not only did the workload drastically reduce for Maria since all she had to do was call the shots and supervise, but it also created a well-detailed power dynamic, where each division would push to be better than the other.

The divisions that stood out the most will obviously be handed more missions and more power within the barony.

Though in this case, their target was to be Dorian’s backbone whenever he needed them. Especially considering that there was a chance a war would break out with the viscount Embre, a man whose military strength was guessed to be close to 700 men.

For a barony, there was no doubt the Aurelian barony had the most military strength as of this moment. Still, when going to war against a viscount, it would be a totally different story.

In any case, they were fully prepared for what was to come.

Meanwhile...

A few days after.

Dorian was seated on his bed, the room dark with only a single candle to act as a source of light for him.

Displayed right in front of him were his system runes, the blue glow illuminating against his face.

He had his arms crossed, eyes squinted in thought.

[Current points: 9000.]

’I must have been breaking achievements if I have this many points. Then again, it’s not like I have been using them at all recently. Been more focused on other things than my own growth.’

He sighed.

’I can’t run from it anymore; guess it’s time I took it seriously now.’

True, he was finally going to check on the mining ground and see how far Seraphina had gone with the place. For a while he didn’t really need to be there, since after upgrading Diggy to a tier 5 summon, he could share senses such as hearing and sight with it.

It was how he kept up with the workflow, and to be honest, he was quite proud of how much they were willing to put into the mining ground’s growth.

Unfortunately, for the next part, he can’t simply watch from the sidelines anymore. And more importantly, he needed to be strong enough to survive as well.

’Give me my stats.’

[Request confirmed.]

Skill(S):

Resource Gathering (Tier III): This skill can now search 3500 yards and can be used on two targets at the same time.

Elemental Mastery (Tier II): This skill now allows you to cast stronger spells and drains less mana.

Fast Speed: (Tier I).

Supervision (Tier I).

Analysis (Tier V): The final version of this skill can be used without any limit as long as the user has the mental fortitude to carry on.

Dorian stared at the glowing screen for a while.

’How many points do I need to fully upgrade Elemental Mastery?’

[3500 points.]

’And to take both Fast Speed and Supervision to the third tier?’

[2200 points.]

’Making a total of 5700.’ Dorian reasoned for a good long time, trying to see if there was any other way he could better spend the points.

After a while, he realized he was just being greedy and decided to just go for it.

’Run it.’

[Request confirmed.]

[5700 E-points have been deducted.]

[Remaining Points: 3300]

.....

[NOTICE!]

[The skill Elemental Mastery has been upgraded to Tier V.]

[The skill has passed the requirement for evolution.]

[Skill Evolved: Great Mage] You are a supreme mage, capable of casting all forms of elemental magic, limited only by your imagination.

[A sub-skill has been born from Great Mage.]

’Oh? That never happened during my Analysis evolution.’

[Elemental Weapons (Tier I)] You have access to use the four different weapons forged from the elemental spirits themselves. Current access: Earth shield.

Dorian’s eyes lit up at the message.

However, it didn’t stop there.

[Fast Speed has been upgraded to Tier III]:

[Fast Speed] You can now move and perceive things faster than the naked eye.

[Supervision has been upgraded to Tier III]:

[Supervision:] You can see further than any human and perceive ghosts, mana, and all forms of energy.

.....

’That should be enough for now. I intended on using skill scan again to see if I got anything new, but I think this is more than enough. Which leads me to my next task.’

He swiped the screen, moving towards another section.

[Summoning Station.]

’It’s time for a new summon.’ A grin grew on his face.

Beep!

He tapped the button on the screen.

[90 points has been deducted for using the summoning station.]

[Congratulations, you have pulled for a summon.]

[Exploring Lili Spider.]

Dorian watched as the familiar golden light glowed before him and formed into a small portal no bigger than his feet.

From within this small portal, a small black bat flew right out.

Dorian quickly tilted his head to the side, the bat speeding past him and slamming right at the wall, with a violent thud coming after.

’What the—’

Dorian crawled on the bed to get to the other side, where he could see the bat on the ground, struggling to get to its feet.

Then came another system notification—

[Lili Bat (Tier I)]

Description: This summon can see in the dark and pass on the skill to anyone she is perched on top of.

Note: The skill cancels if the user is not in contact with her.

’A Lili bat? The system sure does know how to give funny names to summons.’

[Would you like to offer a name to your summon?]

Dorian stared at the bat for a while, watching as it sat there, its googly red eyes staring back at him.

’Once again I didn’t get a dragon. Just call her Lili.’

[Another lazy name. Got it.]

[Your summon Lili Bat has been registered as Lili.]

[Would you like to upgrade your summon?]

’Yes, sure, all the way to tier five.’

It was clear Dorian was unimpressed once again by his pull, but he still wanted to know what kind of form the Lili bat would take after getting to Tier V.
