Layla had little time and wanted to finish the formalities as soon as possible.

But because she was a new person with exotic looks visible through her veil, the officer looked taken aback and hesitated to do as he had been asked.

Layla sighed, and Raizel took it as an insult to her.

"My lady asked you to handle her paperwork faster. Do you want me to assist you in making sure it is done?"

Raziel asked, and his sword shone in the sunlight. That small threat was enough to get people moving.

especially with Mary's keen eye on everything. She was someone these people recognized, and it had been a good idea to bring her along.

"I-I will get right to it. I will need about an hour to order everything and register your domain with the imperial authorities. Would you please wait that long so that I can get started?"

The guard asked as he quickly picked up the form and handed it to Layla.

'Shit! I don't have an hour. At most, I only have about a few minutes left before I need to leave. In that case, I will leave it all up to Mary.'

Layla grabbed the form and went through it before handing it to Mary.

"Here, take my stamp and fill this form out. I do not have much time to spend here. Raizel, escort me out of here. I will be returning while Mary fills out our forms."

Layla ordered, and the guard opened his mouth to ask her to stop.

But one smile from Mary made the guard stop.

"The duke has given my lady all the authority regarding this case. Besides, as long as I have my lady's official stamp, there is no need for my lady to be physically present here, right?"

Mary asked, more like demanded from the guard.

Her words and actions made the guard nervous, and he looked away.

"Y-Yes! That's right, ma'am."

The guard assured, knowing he was not in a good position to speak about anything.

His agreement made Mary smile at him, but not in a good and reassuring manner. The guard's insides chilled when he looked at the infamous maid sitting before him.

The beautiful and mysterious lady stood up, and the whole station watched her leave with only one guard.

A few people wanted to follow Layla and get 'to know' her even better, but one look from the young guard froze them.

"Raziel, you stay out here for a minute. I need to go in and change. Once I am done, we can-"

Layla opened the door of her carriage only to feel someone else's presence inside. She quickly dodged as a hand reached out to grab her and pull her inside.

"Tsk, she escaped. Guys, we are going to execute a plan 'B.' Take her guard out, and then we can force her to come with us. We will get a huge reward if we bring her back."

The kidnappers looked like more slave traders but less organized than the ones Layla had dealt with before.

Since she had not brought any of the Duke's guards with her except the usual ones, Layla was defenseless…or she was supposed to be.

But one snap of her finger caused the kidnappers to fall, and they could not pick up their bodies.

"W-What is happening? What the hell did you do?"

One of the kidnappers asked as he looked at Layla's impassive and unimpressed face. She was not giving these low lives any time of her day, so she gave Raziel a look and told him what to do.

The young guard grabbed the kidnappers and threw them out of the carriage. After that, a quick detection spell told Layla that it was safe to sit in the carriage.

"Throw them to the city guards and let them deal with these people. Make sure to ask Mary to be present when they are punished. I will take care of myself inside the carriage."

Layla assured Raziel that the man quickly dragged these people away to the guard post adjacent to the carriage.

The carriage door closed in time for Layla's potion to run out. She could not take any more for some time now.

Raziel returned faster than Layla expected, knocking at the carriage door before opening it and getting inside.

"Let's head out to check the shop we recently bought. I would like to see its condition and how much work we need to do to maintain it."

Layla spoke softly and quickly took Raziel to the place where her shop was to be set up.

It was not a huge property, but the shop looked decent enough and was in a crowded area.

The best part about this shop was that it was accessible and connected to the main road.

It fulfilled all the conditions Layla had put forward when she expressed her desire to buy this place.

"The registration is done, and the place has been bought. We must only find the dark elves and be set for life."

Finding Dark elves seemed impossible, but most people did not have the same tactile advantage Layla had.

She knew many parts of the main story, so she had a solid idea of where the dark elves were.

The main characters had never directly run into the dark elves, but as a romance fantasy world, how could anyone important not be connected to the female lead?

"Professor Ragnarock hinted to the female lead that he knew where the dark elves lived, right? Then, I should go and visit him. I should go empty-handed, so what should I take with me?"

There was a lot that Layla could take, but there was one thing that she knew the professor would not be able to resist.

It was a certain pink-haired and pink-eyed girl that lived in the temple.

"Ah, I cannot believe I am going to the temple out of my own accord and this soon. Desperation makes us do things we don't want to."
