CHAPTER 187: CHAPTER 187 NOT CONVINCED UNTIL YOU ARE (1)_1

Zhuge Ao stared at the bloody hole in his foot, which was still bleeding profusely. He couldn’t help but gasp sharply. Just now, it seemed as if time had stopped. However, upon closer inspection, everything remained as before, without any change. Could it have been an illusion? What in the world was going on? And this gunshot wound on my foot?

Zhuge Ao’s gaze shifted from shock to a sinister coldness, his eyes exuding a chilly glare as he stared intently at Shangguan You.

He had underestimated this girl, it seemed. She appeared to be a kindred spirit in some ways, but why hadn’t he felt any Spiritual Energy from her? Could she be more advanced than him? How was that possible? How could a girl, barely in her teens, be stronger than him?

"Shangguan You!" Zhuge Feng exclaimed, pulling her fully behind him. He would not allow any harm to come to Shangguan You.

"I’m fine. I can protect myself," Shangguan You said, her voice icy, as she stood side by side with Zhuge Feng. Now that this old scoundrel was dealing with her this way, there was no need to keep up pretenses. Besides, it was unlikely he would leave here alive tonight.

"Well, well. You played your part very convincingly just now," Zhuge Ao said with a cold laugh, his gaze toward Shangguan You as lifeless as if he were looking at a dead person.

"Was I acting?" Shangguan You raised an eyebrow, retorting, as she observed the five men rolling on the ground before turning her gaze to Zhuge Ao.

"Even though he’s injured, his martial skills are formidable. Be very careful and don’t be deceived," Zhuge Feng whispered into her ear, knowing all too well the ruthlessness and merciless nature of Zhuge Ao.

"Yes, I know," Shangguan You nodded. She was not in a hurry to advance, as she had time on her side and was content to play along with him slowly.

"Zhuge Ao, if you obediently step down today, I will spare your life. Otherwise...?" Shangguan You’s voice rang out coldly. He had threatened Zhuge Feng just now. Now it was her turn to threaten him.

"Hahaha! That’s the biggest joke I’ve ever heard! Don’t forget, this is the Inferno Sect. Do you think that just because you poisoned those five and I’ve been shot in the foot, you can be proud? Don’t forget, this is the Inferno Sect—my territory! You, a mere slip of a girl, dare to threaten me? What a colossal joke!"

Zhuge Ao shouted loudly, his hand SMACKING forcefully onto the chair. The entire hall shook once more. Following his voice, the black-robed men who had retreated appeared again. Even Huo and the others, who had been sent to Dark Island, were all gathered here.

The men, their faces usually impassive, now stared at the bleeding wound on Zhuge Ao’s foot and his face, contorted with bulging veins. They knelt on one knee in unison, ready to follow Zhuge Ao’s commands. If one observed closely, one would see fine beads of sweat on their faces and their bodies trembling slightly. They had seen with their own eyes how Zhuge Ao, in a fit of rage, could burn a man to ashes alive.

"Girl, do you see? This is just the mid-level strength of my Inferno Sect. If you want to fight me, you’ll have to defeat them first! Fengfeng, I’ve given you your chance. Since you’re unwilling, then don’t blame me for being ruthless!" Zhuge Ao roared, standing up.

To the astonishment of everyone, with a loud BANG, Zhuge Ao forced the bullet out of his own knee. He then tapped his large hand on his foot, and the bleeding stopped. A black-robed woman stepped forward promptly to bandage Zhuge Ao’s wound, all of it done with natural ease.

Zhuge Ao didn’t seem to care at all about the gunshot wound on his knee, as if he felt no pain. Even those kneeling didn’t lift their heads. Everything around them seemed normal, with no sign of anything amiss.

What kind of monster is he? Shangguan You asked Zhuge Feng in a low voice. They stood back-to-back, observing the swath of black-robed figures surrounding them and Zhuge Ao’s demonstration of forcing the bullet out using internal energy. Have I come across a master today, someone as monstrous as Ye Sanshao? Have I underestimated the freaks from the Inferno Sect?

"Take this." Shangguan You handed Zhuge Feng an Antidote Pill for him to take. Then, silently, the poison she had prepared to deal with Ye Sanshao appeared in her hand. With a subtle movement, she dispersed the powder into the air without a sound.

"He’s a devil, devoid of humanity," Zhuge Feng whispered by her ear as he pondered their options. "When you get the chance, run. He won’t do much to me, but he certainly will not let you go. These are mid-level assassins; the strongest haven’t even shown themselves yet. You are no match for them."

If it weren’t for him, this perverted old man wouldn’t have captured Shangguan You, and none of this would be happening tonight, Zhuge Feng thought.

Shangguan You’s gaze settled on Zhuge Ao, who was seated in the main seat at the head of the hall. She involuntarily furrowed her brows. How does this pervert compare to Ye Sanshao? If he’s more capable than Ye Sanshao, we’ll be in major trouble today. But when push comes to shove, I can always flee into the space... but what about Zhuge Feng?

Shangguan You’s brows furrowed slightly. If only the living water from that night could manifest. Then I wouldn’t fear these people, not even that pervert Zhuge Ao.

No sooner had she thought of the living water than she felt a warm sensation coursing over her bracelet, an inexplicable stirring in her heart.

"Take the Young Master away! Seize this girl and throw her directly into Dark Island!" Zhuge Ao commanded loudly, causing the hall to tremble once more. Then, those who had been kneeling stood up and tightly encircled Shangguan You.

The scene was tense. Shangguan You and Zhuge Feng stood in the center, surrounded by over a hundred men in multiple layers. These men didn’t attack immediately. Instead, with great composure, they drew their handguns and aimed them at the pair. Any slight movement from Shangguan You or Zhuge Feng would result in their immediate death by a hail of bullets.

"Young Master, please come with us," Huo’s icy voice sounded as he reached out to grab Zhuge Feng.

"Release Shangguan You, and I’ll stay!" Zhuge Feng shouted, sweat beading on his forehead as he addressed the venomous Zhuge Ao at the head of the hall.

"Heh heh heh. I gave you your chance, and you squandered it. Now, whatever you say is pointless. If you dare to make a move, I’ll have that girl riddled with bullets immediately. Even if you’re down to your last breath, I can still save you. Men, act!"
