CHAPTER 276: CHAPTER 275: A HAPPY FAMILY
"Why so late? Let’s go right after dinner, we’re not tired," Hu Dong said energetically.
"You’re not tired, but what about the clients? It’s so hot, who would be out during noon? Let’s wait until four or five o’clock to go out, find a neighborhood with lots of people, right when they’re getting off work. Perfect timing."
"Oh, that’s how it is." Hu Dong scratched his head, surprised.
The three of them were busy all morning, exhausted and hungry, eating quite a lot. Lin Wan knew Hu Dong had a big appetite, so she specially steamed rice for five people. Even then, it was almost not enough.
After eating, the siblings both took a shower. Lin Wan thought about letting Hu Dong sleep with them since her room had a fan. Hu Dong refused, took a fan with him, and went to the next room.
In the afternoon, Lin Wan cooked some mung bean water. Each of them drank a large mug, packed a bag of clothes, and set off.
This time, they went to the textile factory, where they had sold clothes before. There are more female workers here, making it easier to sell clothes.
Lin Wan found a noticeable spot, and as soon as the workers got off work, she started shouting.
Hu Dong, with the experience from the morning, also started shouting enthusiastically.
Hu Lijuan was a bit shy at first, but now she could chat boldly with people.
Who would’ve thought, such a small kid, attracted quite a crowd.
In just a short while after work, they sold over thirty pieces.
At this rate, they could sell everything in two or three days.
Lin Wan initially wanted the two to stay at her place overnight, but they were unwilling, saying they’d just moved into their new house and hadn’t enjoyed it enough.
Lin Wan had no choice but to let them ride her bike back, agreeing to meet again early the next morning.
At night after returning home, the siblings were very excited, talking about how much they had sold.
Shen Qing listened, surprised, silently calculating in her mind, "Selling this much in a day? What if it’s like this for a month, how amazing!"
"Exactly, Saozi said you can make money doing biz anywhere on the streets now. Initially, Saozi and her mom started with twenty yuan in town, sold food, then opened a small restaurant. Made money and now they’ve opened a bigger one. My Saozi said the suburban Family Fruit Wine Factory is co-owned by their family and others." Hu Lijuan, hearing this at the time, was so envious and wished she could make money too. But she didn’t know how.
Today she discovered, actually Saozi is really skilled at selling things.
"You mean the suburban Family Fruit Wine Factory?" Hu Bin asked curiously.
Hu Dong nodded, "Yep, that’s the one."
Hu Bin murmured, lost in thought.
The next day, Lin Wan didn’t go to the train station but went to a spot with high foot traffic opposite the city center department store.
There’s a lot of people coming and going here, so sales were fast. By noon, they didn’t go back, found a place to buy some steamed buns and porridge, and simply ate on the spot. Luckily, there was shade, or they would’ve been scorched.
The clothes’ styles were good, they just sold fast. They set up until after three, then they went to a restaurant for a meal, and headed over to a neighborhood.
By evening, the three of them were thoroughly exhausted.
At this point, the siblings no longer felt yesterday’s excitement, already too tired to lift their legs.
Lin Wan didn’t dare to delay, quickly letting the two go home. They sold fewer today. Almost all clothes were sold throughout the day.
The next day, Lin Wan planned not to go out so early, waiting until afternoon to set up at the factory gate, then briefly at the neighborhood in the evening should be enough.
By the third day, the siblings regained their energy, came early in the morning.
Lin Wan told them no need to go so early today. Just setting up in the evening is fine.
During the daytime, with nothing much to do and the weather hot, Lin Wan went to Mom’s yard, picked plenty of grapes on the grapevine in the pavilion at the backyard.
