Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 150: Ye Hao Returns
CHAPTER 150: CHAPTER 150: YE HAO RETURNS
In the evening, after Gu Yi finished dinner, she asked Ye Qian to take Ye Fu and Ye’s mother for a walk downstairs.
She went to school for evening study sessions herself.
"Mom and Dad, shall we go for a walk?"
After Gu Yi left, Ye Qian asked.
"No, let’s just rest at home. Riding in cars is not an easy task, and it’s really tough on Yiyi and Hao Hao to be running around like this."
Ye Fu didn’t even want to move from his seat.
He had always known that traveling by car was tiring, but this time, he experienced it himself and realized how exhausting it was.
"I feel the same, I don’t want to take a single step. Riding in cars is even more tiring than working, and I am now terribly sore all over."
Ye’s mother said, tapping her waist with her hand.
"I think it’s fine. Although it was tiring, after a nap in the afternoon, I feel much more energetic now."
Ye Qian stood up as she spoke.
"If you don’t want to go out, let’s take a tour of sister-in-law’s house. Although it’s not as big as the one in the county, it’s very nicely kept."
Ye Qian took a turn around the living room.
Ye Fu and Ye’s mother also sat and took a good look around the living room.
"Our Hao Hao being able to marry Yiyi is like hitting the jackpot. Without her, not to mention being able to stay in such a nice place in B City, we wouldn’t even dare to think of it."
Ye’s mother suddenly sighed.
"Yiyi is truly a wonderful child."
Ye Fu also added.
What they didn’t know was that the reason Gu Yi could do so much for the family in this life was because of the kindness shown by the Ye Family’s parents to her in the previous life.
Although the relationship between husband and wife was average, the Ye Family members all had good hearts.
No matter what attitude Ye Hao had towards her, the Ye Family’s parents were always consistently good to her.
Ye Qian was used to her parents always praising her sister-in-law in front of her, without accepting any rebuttals.
But what her parents said was also true.
"Mom and Dad, if I want to stay in B City, would you agree?"
Ye Qian, thinking about the unresolved issues with Wu Liang, felt that although she could have some peace while in B City for now,
but once she returned, she didn’t know if Wu Liang would resort to his old tricks again.
From the moment her sister-in-law picked them up, Ye Qian had been seriously considering this matter.
Looking at her sister-in-law’s new house made her more determined to stay in B City.
Although she might not be able to do as well as her sister-in-law did,
she would make sure to work hard.
"If you really want to, your mother and I will agree, but you have to think it through yourself."
Regarding whether Ye Qian should stay in B City, Ye Fu and Ye’s mother had privately discussed it.
They knew that although compared to their hometown, there would be many great opportunities developing in B City, yet there would be more challenges as well.
The final result of their discussion was that as parents, they would not interfere with Ye Qian’s decisions, but as long as she was willing, they would definitely support her.
"Mom and Dad, I understand; I will think about it carefully during this time."
Ye Qian looked at her parents seriously.
Gu Yi came back from her evening self-study session.
As soon as she stepped inside, the phone in the living room started ringing.
She didn’t even have a chance to change her shoes before rushing over to answer the phone.
Because at this time, the person calling would definitely be Ye Hao.
"Ye Hao, are you back?"
Gu Yiyi picked up the phone and said.
"Yiyi, I’m back. I just arrived tonight, and knowing you’re home at this time, I called to let you know I’m safe. Have you been worried about me these past few days?"
Hearing Ye Hao’s voice, Gu Yi really felt like crying.
Ye Hao had initially said he’d be back in a month, and it had already been almost two months.
Only heaven knows how she got through this time.
"What do you think? I’ve been worried sick, and after you went to the army, nobody knew anything about your situation."
As Gu Yi spoke, she couldn’t help feeling aggrieved.
"It’s okay, it’s okay. I’m back safe and sound, right? I have a few days off. I’ll submit the report on this mission tomorrow, and then I’ll come to see you, okay?"
Ye Hao also sensed something wrong with Gu Yi’s voice.
This was the first time since she moved to B City that they had been apart for so long, and she had no idea about the situation during his missions.
Surely, she was quite worried.
Ye Hao also softened his voice, gently comforting Gu Yi.
"Yiyi, what’s wrong?"
Hearing her daughter-in-law’s voice when she came back, Ye’s mother got up to have a look.
Seeing Gu Yiyi’s red eyes startled her.
She remembered Gu Yi mentioned that Ye Hao was out on a mission, and wondered if something had happened to Ye Hao.
Thinking of this, Ye’s mother quickly walked to Gu Yi’s side.
"Mom, it’s nothing, Ye Hao is back."
Gu Yiyi, seeing Ye’s mother’s worried look, knew she must have thought of something else.
She quickly explained.
"Are Mom and Dad there? When did they come?"
Ye Hao, hearing Ye’s mother’s voice over the phone, quickly asked.
"Yes, your parents arrived today. Mom wants to talk to you."
Gu Yi handed the phone to Ye’s mother.
"Hao Hao, is your mission over? When did you get back? Are you alright?"
Ye’s mother bombarded him with a series of questions when she got the phone.
"Mom, my mission is over. I just returned to the army today. I’m fine. Is the long ride tiring for you?"
Ye Hao responded to her questions one by one.
"Yes, it’s tiring. Your dad and I went to bed early. I just got up because I heard Yiyi coming back. We were just saying today that riding in cars is more exhausting than working at home. Each time you make a trip home, it’s not easy."
"We’re still young, so it wasn’t too bad. Please rest early, I’ll be there by tomorrow afternoon."
"Alright, alright. I’m going to sleep now. You should rest early too. I’ll give the phone back to Yiyi."
Ye’s mother thought Ye Hao must be very tired as he had been on a mission,
and he and Yiyi certainly had more to talk about.
Anyway, Ye Hao was coming over tomorrow, so she decided not to say more and passed the phone to Gu Yi.
"Yiyi, I’m going to sleep. You rest early, too."
After saying that, Ye’s mother went back to her room.
Gu Yi took the phone and nodded.
"It’s good you came back safely. Get a good sleep tonight. We’ll talk when you come tomorrow."
Gu Yi, seeing that it was getting late and knowing Ye Hao had to write reports and such the next day, and he would probably not get much rest, urged him to sleep early.
"Alright, Yiyi, I miss you so much. If it weren’t for the fact that there were no more buses tonight, I’d definitely have gone to see you the moment I got back."
Gu Yi listened to Ye Hao’s words and completely understood how he was feeling.
"I miss you too. Although we used to only see each other once every week, I knew you were at the army, and that made me feel secure. During the time you were away, every time I returned, the house felt empty, and I especially missed you. I also feared something might have happened to you out there, spending my days in constant worry."
Gu Yi didn’t hide her true feelings.
"I know, Yiyi. From the day I put on the military uniform, protecting the country became my responsibility. Even knowing the dangers, my mission doesn’t allow me to step back, so I’m sorry for the difficulties you faced."
Ye Hao knew he couldn’t change things, but he never regretted his initial decision.
"Alright, I know. From the moment I decided to stay with you, I made full mental preparations. Don’t worry, I’ll wait for you to come tomorrow and cook you a nice meal."
Gu Yi, saying this, smiled to herself.
It felt like she was coaxing a child, mentioning cooking as soon as she started talking.
"Alright, besides missing you so much, I’ve really missed your cooking skills as well."
Listening to Gu Yi laugh, Ye Hao also relaxed.
