Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 177: Tasting Event
CHAPTER 177: CHAPTER 177: TASTING EVENT
"I’m relieved to hear that from you, in-laws. When are you leaving?"
"We’ve got everything sorted out over here. I’ll leave once I get back. Qianqian’s store on that end is all set up; just waiting for these machines to start business."
"Alright, take your time and have a safe trip."
After chatting for a while, Ye Fu noticed it was getting late, so he promptly bid farewell to Gu Family’s parents and headed home to set off for B City.
Ye Qian watched the familiar scenery outside gradually receding.
Her heart was filled with myriad emotions; no matter how difficult the road ahead might be, she had to persevere, because it was her choice.
She also brought her parents along on this journey.
Wu Liang got off work in the evening and made a detour to Ye Qian’s shop.
He found it empty inside, and there was even a note pasted on the door.
He quickly went to check at Ye Family’s place, but the gate was still locked.
Now he knew he wouldn’t see Ye Qian anymore.
Actually, he never left the area; he’d found work nearby.
He was sure Ye Qian would return someday. If he kept waiting, he’d see her again.
Yesterday he went to the shop as well; everything was still the same.
He didn’t expect that everything would change in just one day.
He wasn’t even sure what he felt right now.
In truth, rather than liking Ye Qian as a person, he was more interested in her money.
But seeing the current scene, he suddenly felt inexplicably sad.
The next afternoon, Ye Qian and the others returned to B City.
Sun Ming knew she was coming back today, so he brought over a few renovation workers from his company.
They arranged all the machines Ye Qian had brought over.
Ye Family’s parents liked Sun Ming more and more; the young man had a keen sense of things.
In the evening, Sun Ming invited Ye Qian out to watch a movie.
"When will you formally introduce me?"
Sun Ming asked suddenly on the way back home with Ye Qian.
"Do we really need formal introductions? Anyway, my family knows about you, and they’ve met you too."
Ye Qian teased him.
"Of course, there should be a formal introduction! Mainly for the neighbors to see. Once I visit, they’ll say, ’Oh, Ye Family’s daughter has a boyfriend, and he’s especially handsome.’
Sun Ming imitated the neighborhood aunties’ voices.
Ye Qian couldn’t stop laughing upon hearing that.
"You’re really like a self-praising peddler selling melons."
"I’m just being honest, okay?"
Sun Ming immediately countered.
"Wait a bit longer. My brother isn’t home yet. When he gets back, I’ll definitely take you in front of the neighborhood aunties, let them see you properly, and praise you well."
Ye Qian spoke while laughing again.
"Alright, why don’t you come to my home first? My parents can’t wait to meet their daughter-in-law."
Sun Ming talked to his parents about his situation with Ye Qian, and they were quite curious about her.
Initially, they considered that their family conditions were pretty good, and their son was exceptional.
They thought about carefully selecting a future daughter-in-law.
But Sun Ming, despite having excellent academic performance, seemed clueless about romance.
Back at B University, with so many girls pursuing him, he showed interest in none.
After graduating, he set up a renovation company.
Whenever introduced to girls, he’d use busywork as an excuse.
Eventually, Sun Family’s parents abandoned their initial ideas.
As long as their son liked her, any girl would do.
So when Sun Ming told them he had a girlfriend, his parents got so excited.
They couldn’t wait to meet her and start planning their wedding.
"Don’t rush; my brother should be back in about a month."
Ye Qian slipped her hand into Sun Ming’s.
"Another month, really?"
Sun Ming looked like he’d been struck by lightning.
"It’ll be quick. I still have to prepare for the opening; things might get busy, and I might not have time for these things. Please be patient for a while."
Ye Qian comforted him hurriedly.
"Alright, it’s a long road ahead."
Sun Ming sighed dramatically.
"Okay, stop pretending. I know you; you’re not in such a hurry, right? We still need to get to know each other better, right?"
Ye Qian thought about how strange fate could be.
She and Sun Ming hadn’t known each other for long, but it was like they naturally resonated in the same frequency.
She understood his jokes, and he totally got her.
Sun Ming released Ye Qian’s hand, standing in front of her.
"Ye Qian, hello. I’m Sun Ming, 25 years old, graduated from B University’s architecture department. My parents are alive, I come from a modest family, and I have no bad habits. I never thought about what my other half would be like. But after meeting you, my wish is simple: two people for life, three meals a day, four seasons."
Sun Ming spoke with utmost sincerity.
Ye Qian initially wanted to laugh, but hearing the last sentence, her eyes got slightly moist.
"That is my wish now too."
Ye Qian blinked and said to Sun Ming.
Ye Qian chose nine o’clock on Saturday morning this week as the opening time.
She didn’t know when Ye Hao would return, but she couldn’t wait forever.
Even though there was some regret, she still fixed the time.
Gu Yi went to help Ye Qian whenever he was done with classes this week.
"Qianqian, I think that day we should have a promotional tasting event to gather some crowd. If people try and find it tasty, they’ll surely buy some."
Gu Yi thought that Ye Qian’s store had to draw attention on opening day.
People’s curiosity is bound to attract them, and if there’s free tasting, they’ll be willing to come in.
"Tasting event? Sis, what if people only eat and don’t buy, or keep eating?"
Ye Qian hadn’t heard of it before; she was a bit worried.
"It’s fine, even if they don’t buy. It’s crucial for the new store to have good traffic; that’s when people will be willing to come in. We’ll set limits; won’t let them eat endlessly."
Gu Yi explained to Ye Qian.
Ye’s mother thought it might be a bit wasteful but said nothing from the side.
"Alright, Sis, I’ll listen to you."
Ye Qian understood her sister-in-law’s intention and nodded.
On the opening day, Sun Ming and Li Yitian came over to help.
Thanks to the tasting event, everyone found it novel and squeezed in.
Many found it delicious and took some home.
The results exceeded expectations.
In the evening, Gu Yi arranged a table at a nearby restaurant.
After a busy day, no one wanted to cook.
Also, to thank Sun Ming and Li Yitian for their help today.
Ye’s mother looked at everyone’s lively dining.
She thought it’d be great if Ye Hao were home.
It just felt like something was missing.
Gu Yi noticed Ye’s mother’s expression, knowing what she was thinking.
Actually, Gu Yi also missed Ye Hao a lot, unsure how he was doing out there.
She wondered when he could come back.
Sometimes, she thought that if Ye Hao didn’t have such a passion for the military, she’d really want him to retire.
No matter if Ye Hao did nothing at home, she’d be able to support him.
No longer having to worry like this.
